Chapter 351 Christmas Day
As soon as the words were spoken, the lights in the operating room suddenly went out.
Sophia's heart leapt into her throat, and she quickly stood up and waited at the door of the operating room.
The doctor had just come out, and before he could take off his mask, Sophia rushed forward and asked, "Doctor, how is Noah?"
"Don't worry, the patient is out of danger now. He can be transferred to a regular ward in a while."
Hearing this, Sophia finally felt relieved.
Sophia felt the world spinning around her. Quentin seemed to be saying something to her, but before she could hear clearly, she collapsed heavily to the ground and passed out.
She could vaguely hear Christmas music drifting in from outside the window. Sophia slowly opened her eyes and found herself lying in a hospital bed.
During her unconsciousness, Sophia heard the doctor tell Quentin that she was just overly exhausted and needed a good rest.
Sophia sat up and looked at Noah, who was sleeping on the other side.
He hadn't woken up yet, but seeing his rosy complexion, she knew he was fine. Thinking of this, Sophia couldn't help but chuckle softly.
It started snowing outside; today was Christmas.
Through the glass, she could see the bustling crowd on the street, the lively and joyful atmosphere in stark contrast to the hospital.
Sophia extended her hand and looked at the engagement ring that gleamed with luster.
It was the ring Noah had personally put on her a few days ago, but she had yet to give him a response.
"When you wake up, I'll marry you." Sophia came to Noah's bedside and gently kissed his forehead. "I'm tired of the past and don't want to dwell on it anymore. I just want to cherish you by my side now."
"Really?" Noah opened his eyes and looked at Sophia without a hint of hesitation.
"You're awake?" Sophia cried tears of joy and threw herself onto Noah.
"Yes," Noah responded, "I've been conscious all along. I heard every word you said."
"Sophia, do you truly want to marry me?" Noah loved her but feared she was agreeing to be with him out of guilt.
"Yes." Tears quietly rolled down Sophia's cheeks. "When you went into the emergency room, I was terrified. I was afraid you wouldn't come out."
Before Sophia could finish, Noah pulled her into his arms and gently kissed away her tears. "I will never leave you again."
"Don't lie to me." Sophia said.
Two floors down from where Sophia was, Quentin and the others were in their ward.
Matthew was having a great time with Lauren and Quentin. "Daddy, Mommy, look, it's snowing heavily outside!"
The warm yellow lights reflected off the white snowflakes, which fell to the ground with the music.
Couples on the street often stopped to take photos in front of the giant Christmas tree, capturing their happiness.
"I promised to give you a grand wedding today," Quentin said, holding Lauren's hand, looking somewhat apologetic.
"It doesn't matter; it's just a formality." Lauren smiled slightly. "As long as you're by my side, that's enough."
"And me!" Matthew pouted jealously.
"Yes." Lauren was amused by Matthew's expression and quickly coaxed him, "How could I forget my precious son?"
"You little guy, you're even jealous of your Daddy." Hearing Matthew, Quentin couldn't help but look at him differently.
Was Matthew still the little boy who tried so hard to bring him and Lauren together?
Matthew stuck his tongue out at Quentin, then tugged at Lauren's clothes and said coquettishly, "Mommy, I want to set off fireworks."
Matthew's suggestion really put Lauren in a difficult spot. This was a hospital; where could they set off fireworks?
Lauren looked at Quentin for help.
Without a word, Quentin took out his phone and made a call.
After a few simple instructions, Quentin picked up Matthew and said, "Let's go set off fireworks."
"Where to?" Lauren was taken aback by Quentin's quick action.
On the hospital rooftop, Quentin had arranged for a lot of fireworks to be placed. In a corner, there was also a bucket filled with water.
Seeing so many fireworks, Matthew was naturally excited and hugged Quentin affectionately, saying, "Thank you, Daddy."
"Go ahead and play." Quentin said excitedly.
With Quentin's permission, Matthew happily began selecting fireworks. With the help of a bodyguard, he started setting them off.
"Aren't you afraid of spoiling him?" Lauren walked up to Quentin and gently took his arm.
"My son deserves the best," Quentin said with undisguised pride and joy. "And so does my wife."
Lauren's face gradually turned red at Quentin's sudden declaration of love.
Quentin took Lauren's hand and pulled her in front of him. He gently cupped her chin and gave her a deep kiss.
Quentin had been busy with the company and Matthew's matters these past few days and hadn't had the chance to kiss Lauren.
So this kiss was both passionate and lingering. Quentin wanted to control himself but unwilling to let go.
Seeing Quentin and Lauren so affectionate, the bodyguard quietly took Matthew downstairs.
Matthew was also very understanding and followed without saying much.
After Matthew left, Quentin could no longer hold back and let his hands roam over Lauren's body.
Lauren couldn't help but make a sound, which excited Quentin even more. He directly laid Lauren down on a nearby bench.
"My God, this is a hospital," Lauren said, blushing and not knowing what to do.
"Tonight, it's just us." Quentin took Lauren's hand from his chest and set it aside, skillfully removing her clothes. "Lauren, I can't hold back anymore."
Seeing Quentin like this, Lauren was also happy.
Without saying anything more, she wrapped her arms around Quentin's neck and gently kissed his lips.
Quentin responded passionately, and they intertwined, kissing and making love.
At some point, their clothes had already been removed. They embraced each other tightly, their bare skin touching. In this snowy winter, they passionately became one.
"Quentin, I love you." Lauren said.
"I love you too." Quentin replied.
Beneath the words, their passion deepened.
