Chapter 364 Singing
After dinner, Quentin took his staff to the KTV room upstairs.
They booked the largest room, which could accommodate all the executives of Robinson Conglomerate.
The night's activities were always colorful, especially for this group of people. While everyone sang, there were always activities like drinking and playing games.
But unlike before, this time the person pointed to by the spinning beer bottle could only choose a dare.
Lauren initially didn't want to participate, as the dares were quite troublesome, and no one knew what they might be asked to do.
Someone said, "It's okay, join us."
Hearing others persuade her and seeing Odette and Quentin participating, Lauren had no reason to back out.
After a few drinks, Lauren became bolder.
Seeing everyone else being pranked so badly, Lauren gradually let herself go and joined in the fun.
The bottle pointed to Lauren.
"Ms. Walker, it's finally your turn." Noah grinned mischievously and placed a pile of dare cards in front of Lauren. "Come on, pick one."
Lauren chose one and handed it to Noah. And Noah read the card. "Please kiss the guy sitting third to your left."
How unlucky could she be? Lauren covered her face in embarrassment. She couldn't even remember the name of the guy she was supposed to kiss, let alone kiss him.
Moreover, Quentin was sitting right next to her. As his wife, it wouldn't be appropriate to do such a thing.
"Quentin, you're about to be betrayed." Noah, not satisfied with the chaos, kept stirring things up.
But Lauren had lost, and she couldn't back out just because of her special status.
Just as Lauren stood up, Quentin grabbed her.
"Don't you dare." Quentin's face showed no emotion, but the authority in his eyes made Lauren take the matter seriously.
"What else can I do?" Lauren was quite frustrated herself.
"Just switch places," Noah suggested quietly.
"Switch places?" Lauren didn't get it at first. "Who switches?"
Seeing that Lauren didn't get it, Noah took the initiative to switch places with other male colleagues.
After some adjustments, Quentin ended up being the third guy to Lauren's left.
"So that's what you meant." Lauren looked up at Quentin sitting across from her, her cheeks instantly turning red.
Without much hesitation, Quentin walked over, pulled Lauren into his arms, and kissed her dominantly.
Seeing this, the onlookers couldn't help but scream.
Odette didn't say anything, her gaze darkening as she silently took a drink from the table.
"Drink less," Declan advised her.
Seeing it was Declan, Odette felt even more upset.
"Don't worry about me." Odette downed her drink in one gulp.
No one knew how long the kiss lasted before Quentin and Lauren finally separated.
"Well done," Noah couldn't help but give Quentin a thumbs up. "Your skills are getting better."
Quentin ignored Noah and didn't return to his previous seat. Instead, he sat down next to Lauren as if it was the most natural thing to do.
"Next time, can you give me a heads-up so I can be mentally prepared?" Lauren whispered to Quentin.
"You don't need to know," Quentin responded domineeringly.
Despite his harsh words, Lauren was no longer angry with him.
The bottle spun again, and this time it pointed to Odette.
"Odette, it's your turn to pick a card," Noah sensed some drama coming.
The card read, "Hug for five seconds," without specifying the person.
After Noah read the card, the KTV room fell silent.
Who would Odette hug? That was the question.
There were plenty of men in the company who liked Odette, but everyone knew Odette liked Quentin. And Quentin's attitude towards Lauren was unclear, so no one dared to step forward.
"Can I?" Declan stepped up.
If the silence continued, it would be too embarrassing for Odette.
Unexpectedly, Odette refused outright. "I don't want to."
Odette walked up to Quentin and said bluntly, "Quentin, can it be you?"
Lauren was sitting right next to Quentin, making it clear that Odette was targeting her.
Lauren tried to keep her emotions in check, waiting to see how Quentin would react.
Without hesitation, Quentin said to Odette, "No. Odette, some things need to be clarified sooner rather than later."
"I don't want to hear it." Odette hugged Quentin, not caring about what others thought. "You know I've liked you for many years."
Quentin was well aware of this, but the situation was different now.
Quentin was annoyed by Odette's actions. He frowned and pushed her away forcefully.
"You've had too much to drink. Go home and sleep." Quentin gave Odette an excuse.
This was the first time Quentin had treated her this way, and Odette felt extremely wronged, tears streaming down uncontrollably. "Quentin, are you abandoning me?"
Odette's emotions worsened.
Quentin knew that if this continued, things would get out of hand. He decided to take Odette away.
After all, some things were better discussed in private.
"You guys continue. I'll go handle this," Quentin instructed and then left with Odette.
Although Lauren understood Quentin's intentions, it was impossible for her not to feel anything.
Noah never expected that attending a gathering would involve watching so much drama.
"Lauren, you have to trust Quentin." Worried that Lauren might overthink, Noah comforted her.
"He just wants a quiet place to talk to Odette." Given the situation, Lauren could only try to think positively.
"Okay." Lauren nodded.
No matter what, Lauren chose to trust Quentin.
After all, she had no other choice but to trust him.
Lauren silently prayed in her heart, 'Quentin, please don't let me down again.'
