Chapter 240 Matthew's Choice

When Quentin was angry, he spoke without thinking. He was upset seeing Ethan and Lauren together and was overly worried about Matthew, so he naturally ignored Lauren's feelings.

He wandered between Ethan's villa and the Robinson Estate, searching for Matthew. He was certain Matthew would come to him, and the only place they could meet was the Robinson Estate.

Two hours passed, and there was still no sign of Matthew. Quentin's people had almost turned City A upside down, but there was no news of Matthew.

As time went on, Quentin had a bad feeling. He thought, 'Could something have happened to Matthew? Could he be in danger?'

'There are all kinds of bad people in society, and I'm very afraid that Matthew had encountered bad people.'

Thinking of this, Quentin couldn't help but clench his fists. No! He absolutely couldn't make Matthew suffer like this! Even if it meant locking down the entire city and exhausting every resource, he had to find Matthew.

Just as Quentin was about to call the relevant government officials, Noah's call suddenly came in. Quentin eagerly pressed the answer button.

"Is there any news about Matthew?" Quentin asked cautiously, afraid of hearing a negative answer.

Noah didn't waste any time and said directly, "Yes, Quentin, the security at Robinson Conglomerate just called me. They said a child ran there, claiming to have something to say to you. Initially, the security thought the child was just being naughty and ignored him. However, the child has been waiting alone at the gate for two hours, and they couldn't persuade him to leave, so they contacted me."

"It must be Matthew. Is Matthew still at the company?" Quentin was very happy and asked.

Noah replied, "Yes, the security told me they have taken the child to the security room. I told them to take good care of him and then quickly notified you."

Quentin still couldn't relax. He couldn't be sure it was Matthew until he saw him with his own eyes. He immediately sped up and rushed to the company as fast as he could.

"When will Quentin get here?" Matthew asked, shaking his head in boredom.

The security guard didn't know Matthew's identity, and Matthew didn't tell him the truth. Seeing that Matthew looked quite similar to Quentin, the security guard didn't dare to do anything.

"What's your relationship with Mr. Robinson? Why do you call him by his name?" The security guard asked with a smile.

Matthew blinked his big eyes and said cutely, "My mommy is good friends with him, but I want to call him by his name."

Matthew's playful tone put the security guard at ease. He had thought Matthew was special, but it turned out he was just a child of Quentin's friends.

Suddenly, the sound of a car came from outside. Matthew immediately jumped off the chair and looked out. Sure enough, he saw Quentin's car and a very stern-looking Quentin.

Quentin quickly strode over. The security guard had never seen Quentin so anxious and stood there dumbfounded, completely bewildered by the situation.

"Daddy!" Matthew shouted happily.

The security guard was so shocked by this address that his jaw almost dropped.

Quentin immediately rushed to Matthew's side and hugged him tightly. He was panting heavily and took a long time to calm down.

Quentin raised his hand to hit Matthew but ultimately stopped. He didn't have the right to hit him.

Matthew called out, "Daddy."

Matthew looked at Quentin pitifully. He was full of grievances and wanted to talk to Quentin but didn't expect to make him angry.

"Do you know you almost scared me to death! Why did you run here!" Quentin, holding Matthew on his lap and comforting him by patting his head, still asked him questions.

Matthew tightly hugged Quentin's arm and said, "Mommy wants Uncle Ethan to be my new daddy, but I already have a daddy. Why does Mommy want Uncle Ethan instead of you? I was so angry, so I ran out to find you."

Quentin's eyes darkened, but he remained silent. He then remembered Lauren, who was still worried about Matthew. He had wanted to teach Lauren a lesson, but recalling her anxiety earlier, he suddenly didn't want to do that.

He explained to himself, 'I don't want to waste time with Lauren because I have no time to spare.' However, the truth was he felt a bit sorry for her.

Quentin cursed himself inwardly, 'Lauren is about to marry Ethan, yet I still feel sorry for her! It seems I am hopeless.'

While comforting Matthew, Quentin called Lauren.

Quentin remarked, "Matthew is in the CEO's office at Robinson Conglomerate. Come alone."

Before Lauren could respond, Quentin coldly ended the call.

Lauren was very happy to learn that Matthew had been found. The joy after the fright was even more exhilarating. To avoid angering Quentin, Lauren decided to go to the Robinson Conglomerate alone, as he had said.

However, Ethan was worried. He said, "Lauren, this is a big deal. I'm afraid Quentin will take it out on you."

Lauren said, "It's okay. Although he blames me, it's my fault. I didn't take good care of Matthew. He is Matthew's father and has the right to blame me."

"Lauren, let me go with you. I'll wait at the door. If he goes too far, I can help you," Ethan said, holding Lauren's hand.

Lauren shook her head and refused, "Ethan, don't worry. If he hits or scolds me because of this, I will accept it. However, if he intentionally hurts me, I'm not stupid; I will fight back."

Kimberly looked at Lauren worriedly and said, "Lauren, you must bring Matthew back. Come home early, and don't make us worry too much!"

Lauren nodded and took a taxi to the Robinson Conglomerate.

On the way, Lauren wasn't scared, even though she knew Quentin would likely scold her when they met.

In fact, she was no longer worried. Compared to Matthew's safety, nothing else mattered.

Her biggest concern now was how to persuade Matthew to forgive her negligence and how to get Quentin to return Matthew to her.

Lauren got out of the car and took the elevator directly to the CEO's office. The floor numbers kept changing, and Lauren suddenly felt nervous.

No matter how nervous she was, she had to face this matter herself. After getting off the elevator, Lauren walked to the office door and knocked lightly. Soon, the door opened, and a cute face appeared. It was Matthew.

Matthew was very happy to see Lauren. He ran over and jumped into her arms, saying, "Mommy, you're finally here!"

Seeing Matthew, Lauren couldn't hold back her tears. This little troublemaker had really scared her to death.

Lauren hugged Matthew tightly, crying uncontrollably.
