Chapter 362 Encounter

"Is it serious?" Quentin asked Odette.

Due to the intense pain, Odette didn't respond and just frowned tightly.

Seeing this, Quentin didn't hesitate any longer and carried her directly into the hotel.

Some employees who were unaware of the situation started gossiping upon seeing this.

"Mr. Robinson is such a jerk. His wife is right there, and he's carrying another woman inside."

"He's probably attracted to Odette because she's younger and prettier than Ms. Walker."

"Don't you all have anything to do?" Lauren couldn't hold back any longer. Already filled with anger, she snapped at the gossiping employees. "Do you want me to find some work for you?"

Knowing that Lauren was not someone to be trifled with, the onlookers quickly dispersed.

Quentin carried Odette to his room, but just like last time, she refused to let go.

"Stop it, your injury is serious." Quentin said.

Seeing Quentin so concerned about her, Odette felt a sweetness in her heart and obediently sat on the bed.

Odette had twisted her right ankle, and it was now bruised and swollen.

Quentin took out a bottle of wound spray and gently applied a bit on her ankle. "It might hurt a little, bear with it."

After saying this, Quentin began to massage Odette's ankle.

"Ouch!" Odette couldn't help but cry out.

"I told you it would hurt." Before he could finish, Quentin noticed Odette starting to giggle.

"What are you laughing at?" Quentin asked, puzzled.

With a mischievous smile, Odette leaned close to Quentin's ear and said, "Do you think people next door who don't know what's going on might think..."

"It looks like it doesn't hurt enough." Quentin tapped Odette's forehead. "You're overthinking it; no one has come up yet."

"That's perfect." Odette pounced on Quentin, pinning him to the ground. "It's just the two of us here; we can do whatever we want."

"Stop it." Quentin tried to push Odette away, but she refused to let go.

"Your foot is still injured." Quentin said.

"I don't care," Odette confessed directly. "Would you believe me if I said I fell on purpose?"

"Why?" Quentin became alert.

"I haven't seen you for so long. Now that I finally get to see you, I want you to care for me and focus all your attention on me." Odette said with a smile.

After saying this, Odette kissed Quentin on the lips.

"You're just like when you were a kid, always causing trouble. What if you really get hurt?" Quentin felt helpless; he couldn't think of any other way to deal with Odette except to spoil her.

"As long as you're here, I'm not afraid of anything." Odette lay on Quentin, quietly feeling his heartbeat. "I wish you had married me."

Quentin didn't respond. For them, silence was the best answer to this question.

Quentin felt his shirt getting wet. Looking up slightly, he realized Odette was crying.

"Why are you crying?" Quentin was caught off guard. "Is your foot still hurting a lot?"

"No, I just regret not coming back sooner. If I had, I would be the one married to you. Why didn't you wait for me?" Odette said.

Quentin didn't answer Odette's question.

He sat up and gently wiped the tears from Odette's face. "Alright, stop crying."

"I don't want to hear it." Odette hugged Quentin, burying her head in his shoulder. "I don't care about anything else; I just want to stay by your side."

"Quentin." Lauren came over to check on Odette's injury but was taken aback by the scene she walked into.

"You two..." Lauren fought back her inner sorrow, straightened her back, and pulled Odette off Quentin.

"Ouch!" Odette cried out due to her twisted ankle, unable to put any weight on it.

Lauren was furious. "You're sitting on my husband because you're in pain?"

Lauren was no longer the pushover she used to be; she had the right and the power to protect what was hers.

Odette retorted, "But it really hurts."

Lauren was about half a head taller than Odette. She pulled her up, making Odette almost stand on tiptoe.

The pain from her injury caused Odette's tears to fall uncontrollably.

"Enough." Quentin pulled Odette into his arms and helped her sit back on the bed. "Odette's foot is injured; don't mess with her."

Seeing Odette's swollen ankle, Lauren felt a mix of emotions. "So that's why you two are so close? Because she's injured, you do whatever she says?"

Lauren was genuinely hurt now. Crying, she said to Quentin, "When have you ever been this accommodating to me? Every time we argue, I'm the one who gives in first, who apologizes first."

While Lauren's words weren't entirely wrong, they weren't the whole truth either.

"Ms. Walker, please don't be angry. It's all my fault," Odette apologized sincerely.

"Stop talking." Lauren said.

Odette's words made Lauren heartbroken.

"Everything was fine before you showed up. Why has everything gone wrong since you came?" Lauren finally voiced the words she had kept buried for so long.

Seeing Lauren like this, Odette cried even harder. "I'm sorry, Lauren. It's all my fault. I've disturbed you. I'll leave right now."

As she spoke, Odette tried to stand up. But before she could take a step, she lost her balance due to her injury and almost fell.

Quentin quickly ran over to catch her. "Don't move around with your injured foot."

"But..." Odette's gaze fell on Lauren.

Her intimate actions with Quentin made them look like a real couple.

'Is Odette trying to tell me that I'm the one who should leave?' Thinking this, Lauren couldn't help but let out a cold laugh. "It seems I'm the one who should go."

"Lauren, can you stop causing trouble?" Quentin was impatient.

Hearing Quentin accuse her of causing trouble again, Lauren's heart turned cold.

Lauren decided not to hesitate any longer and left without looking back. "Quentin, no matter what you say this time, I won't forgive you."

But to Lauren's disappointment, Quentin didn't come after her.

'Lauren, what are you even hoping for?' Lauren thought to herself.
