Chapter 442 Making a Firm Decision

Theodosia had to call Lauren several times before she finally snapped out of it, like clouds parting to reveal the sun, and she began to smile.

"Maybe he wants me to see the truth, to understand my own heart. I get it now."

Lauren, overjoyed, speculated, "Maybe he wants me to stop this wedding."

Lauren's eyes sparkled with excitement.

Theodosia stared at her, seemingly never having seen Lauren so animated before. Perhaps this was the real Lauren.

Seeing Lauren understand her feelings made Theodosia very happy.

However, neither Lauren nor Theodosia knew Quentin's actual plan, and Lauren mistakenly believed Quentin wanted her to stop the wedding tomorrow.

Lauren suddenly became very energetic, as if she were a different person. She stood up resolutely and said, "In that case, I can't go to the wedding like this. Theodosia, please help me prepare a clean outfit."

Lauren spoke softly, her eyes shining with their usual brightness.

Seeing Lauren understand Quentin's intentions made Theodosia happy, too, and she quickly nodded.

As the wedding approached, Lauren grew more nervous, and she wasn't the only one.

Odette was too anxious to sleep because she was marrying Quentin tomorrow, while Lauren tossed and turned in bed, nervous about crashing the wedding.

Gregory was in no mood to rest either.

Matthew had been giving him a hard time these past few days, and even though it was late at night, Matthew showed no signs of wanting to sleep.

The men in black had no way to deal with Matthew.

"Matthew, behave yourself," Gregory said reluctantly, holding Matthew and speaking with displeasure.

Pretending to be kind, Gregory coaxed, "If you behave, I'll take you to see your mom and dad tomorrow."

"You're lying," Matthew said smartly, having overheard Gregory and the men in black discussing taking him to the wedding tomorrow. He exposed Gregory's lie directly.

Gregory's face darkened as he glared at Matthew, pinching his cheek hard and warning, "What you heard doesn't count. If you don't sleep tonight, I can't guarantee you'll be able to go. Understand?"

Matthew winced in pain, wanting to resist, but his strength was too small. A child was no match for Gregory, and he couldn't break free.

Matthew glared at Gregory, mustering the courage to shout, "If you dare hurt me, my dad will tear you to pieces."

Gregory laughed mockingly, "Let me tell you, your dad will have a new love by then. He doesn't want you anymore. What are you still fantasizing about?"

"You're talking nonsense!" Matthew yelled, hitting Gregory with his small fists, but his strength was too weak, like hitting a sponge.

Gregory had no time to argue with Matthew. He put Matthew down and handed him to the men in black.

"Make sure you keep an eye on him tomorrow. If anything goes wrong tonight, it's on you," Gregory barked.

The men in black exchanged nervous glances and quickly nodded, promising, "Don't worry, there won't be any mistakes."

Just as they finished speaking, one of them yelped in pain. Looking down, he saw Matthew biting his hand with all his might.

"Lock him up," Gregory ordered coldly. He walked up to Matthew and said sternly, "This is what happens when you don't behave."

"You're a big, bad guy. My dad won't let you get away with this," Matthew shouted, struggling with all his might, but his small strength was useless.

After struggling in vain, Matthew was locked in a small, enclosed room, tears welling up in his eyes.

Matthew whimpered, "Mom, where are you? I miss you so much. I want to go home."

But Lauren couldn't hear Matthew's cries for help.

It was destined to be a sleepless night.

Lauren tossed and turned, unable to sleep, and only dozed off as dawn approached.

But remembering the important task ahead, she got up early and started getting ready. Though her face was pale, her skin was flawless and smooth.

Theodosia used some makeup to touch her up, making Lauren look refreshed.

Lauren chose a clean white dress and casually tied up her hair, looking very elegant.

She put on flat shoes and stood gracefully in front of the mirror, looking like an angel, making Theodosia envious.

Theodosia couldn't help but praise, "You look stunning. You'll be the most beautiful person at the wedding today."

Lauren smiled and said firmly, "Today, I won't hide my feelings anymore."

Lauren was serious. She had thought long and hard last night.

Since she loved Quentin, she had to tell him how she felt.

Meanwhile, the atmosphere on Quentin's side was completely different. He hadn't slept all night.

He went over every possible mishap at the wedding to ensure his plan was foolproof before finally dozing off at his desk.

Quentin woke up early to discuss the final plan with the police.

Kimberly was being held in a cabin in the mountains. During the wedding, Gregory would be too preoccupied to worry about Kimberly.

At that time, the police would head to Kimberly's location and subdue the guards there.

Some undercover officers would also be at the wedding, waiting for the right moment.

Once Matthew was safe, Gregory would have no chance to escape.

Felix, carrying a cup of freshly brewed coffee, knocked on the door and respectfully said, "Mr. Robinson, everything is ready."

Quentin, frowning, nodded and asked with concern, "How is Lauren doing?"

"Mrs. Robinson is doing well. I heard she's already up and ready."

"Assign two people to escort Lauren, and have two more protect her at the wedding," Quentin instructed.
