Chapter 327 Brent's Arrest

Brent sneered, "You think I'm an idiot?"

Even though he was trying to act tough, Brent was clearly freaking out.

Without wasting any more time, Brent figured it was best to bail.

"Since you're not serious, I'm outta here," he said, standing up to leave. But before he could take a step, two guys in black suits shoved him back into his chair.

"Quentin, what the hell is this?" Brent snapped, realizing he was stuck, and couldn't do anything but yell at Quentin.

"Relax," Quentin said, motioning for his secretary to pour Brent another cup of coffee. "I just want you to stay for another cup. Someone's on their way, and trust me, you'll want to meet them."

It turned out that before Brent even showed up at Robinson Conglomerate, Quentin had already handed over all the dirt on Brent to the cops, including the report on Lauren's kidnapping and Quentin's injury.

Given Quentin's status, the police had to take it seriously.

They'd been secretly investigating Brent for ages, but he was always too slick, never leaving any evidence or letting anyone else take the fall.

So, Brent had managed to dodge the law for years, and the cops were fed up with him.

When Quentin handed over the evidence, the police felt like a huge weight had been lifted off their shoulders.

Brent thought about Quentin's weird words for a second and then got it. "Did you call the cops?" he asked.

Quentin didn't bother to answer. Seeing Quentin's smug look, Brent tried to punch him, but the two guys in black pinned him down.

"You got nothing on me. How are you gonna get them to arrest me?" Brent shouted.

"This time, you slipped up," Quentin said, looking at Brent with disdain. "You got greedy and it blinded you."

Ever since Brent let Quentin and Lauren go, he was dreaming about how he'd spend the big bucks once he got his hands on Robinson Conglomerate's shares.

He was sure Quentin, without Robinson Conglomerate, would be helpless. But he didn't see Quentin's ruthless plan coming, leaving him with no way out.

"Quentin, you win," Brent finally admitted defeat, realizing he was done for.

"Brent, you've hurt my ex-wife and son, and even attempted to take control of Robinson Conglomerate. I'm not giving you another chance," Quentin said, turning to look out the window.

The weather was still sunny, but it seemed even brighter than yesterday.

Thinking about it, Quentin felt a bit relieved. "I hope Lauren's okay. This must've freaked her out."

As the minutes passed, the sound of the approaching police sirens became more pronounced.

Brent knew he was trapped and started giving Quentin some advice. "Quentin, no matter how strong the feelings, don't mix them with money. When people see big profits, they forget everything."

By saying that, Brent wanted to remind Quentin that Noah might keep all the money after transferring all of Robinson Conglomerate's shares to him.

Legally, the money was Noah's now, and there wasn't much Quentin could do about it.

"Quentin, no matter how smart you think you are, one day you might get screwed over by your brother," Brent said, just as the cops burst into the conference room and slapped the cuffs on him.

"Take care of your own mess. My business isn't your concern," Quentin shot back.

With Brent out of the picture, the Obsidian Gang fell apart and was no longer a threat.

Quentin finally relaxed, a rare smile spreading across his face.

But Brent's words stuck with him. He and Noah had their differences.

Quentin had been so swamped lately that he hadn't had a chance to sit down and talk things out with Noah.

The share transfer happened fast, but luckily, Noah got it and signed the contract without making a fuss.

Now that the dust had settled, it was time for Quentin to have a heart-to-heart with Noah.

Meanwhile, Lauren was debating whether to call Quentin to check on him, but she ended up falling asleep.

When she woke up, it was already noon the next day. She must've been wiped out from all the stress.

Lauren grabbed her phone and saw a bunch of news notifications: [Obsidian Gang Leader Finally Caught, Robinson Conglomerate CEO's Brilliant Strategy.]

"Brent got caught?" Lauren was thrilled. It wasn't bad news after all. She'd been worried sick about Quentin, enduring nightmares all night and finding it hard to sleep.

Reading the news, Lauren realized it was all part of Quentin's plan.

He had transferred all of Robinson Conglomerate's shares to Noah beforehand, then lured Brent to the company for the formal meeting and transfer.

Quentin had secretly handed over the evidence of Brent's crimes to the police, catching Brent completely off guard.

"Quentin, you really scared me," Lauren said, tears streaming down her face.

All her suppressed emotions and fears came flooding out, intertwined with a sense of helplessness and guilt.

"Quentin, I hate you. How am I supposed to face you?" Lauren cried softly, feeling lost.

Back then, she chose not to understand or believe Quentin, even though he had tried to explain so many times. She just didn't want to believe or forgive him.

In the end, she pushed Quentin away and made Jessica's condition worse, yet Quentin still risked everything to save her.

Lauren felt she couldn't face Quentin, but she also knew she owed him too much.

After a lot of soul-searching, Lauren finally made up her mind, 'Lauren, be brave. Since you let Quentin down, you have to make it up to him.'

Most importantly, after the kidnapping, Lauren was convinced of Quentin's love for her. She believed that he wouldn't have risked his life to save her if he didn't care deeply for her.

So this time, Lauren decided to follow her heart.
