Chapter 105 Wedding Canceled

Clara was stunned, her jaw practically on the floor, eyes wide as saucers, staring at Alexander like he was a stranger. "Mr. Windsor, what the heck is going on?"

The guests behind her were just as shocked.

Oliver and Lila, sitting in the main seats, were freaking out. They went from feeling on top of the world to like they were falling into a bottomless pit.

Lila couldn't hold back, "Why? Mr. Windsor, Clara's carrying your baby, that's your kid!"

Even Marcus was confused. "Alexander, this is too much. We're in the middle of the wedding, and Clara's pregnant with your child. You can't just call it off now!"

But Marcus knew better than to think Alexander would listen to him or anyone else.

Sure enough, Alexander didn't even bother explaining. He just turned to the priest and said coldly, "I don't want to marry her."

Then he walked off the stage.

No one in the crowd dared to say a word. Some were even secretly happy because everyone in Sunwillow City knew the Guise family was no match for the Windsors. Oliver was just a small-time merchant with assets under a hundred million. He only managed to latch onto the Windsor family because he was always sucking up to Brent.

With Brent out of the picture, Oliver tried to secure his place through Clara's relationship with Alexander. So, the real upper-class folks looked down on the Guise family.

The socialites at the wedding especially disliked Clara. When she walked into the hall with Alexander, she was so smug it was embarrassing.

Now, Alexander didn't want to marry her.

A lot of people were secretly pleased.

"Mr. Windsor!" Clara shouted, "You still can't forget Elizabeth, can you? Elizabeth is a total tramp who's done all sorts of awful things. Why can't you get over her? She seduced you, Mr. Tudor, Mr. Bell, and even Mr. Jones. Everyone knows it. She acts all innocent but she's actually despicable. She promised everyone she'd never come back to Aldoria."

She added, "But today, on our wedding day, she still showed up to cause trouble. How can you still think about a woman like Elizabeth?"

Alexander stopped in his tracks.

"Mr. Windsor, have you changed your mind?" Clara ran to him, tears streaming down her face, looking up at him hopefully.

Alexander looked down at Clara, feeling nothing but disgust.

He said coldly, "We've already walked into the wedding hall, and you still call me Mr. Windsor. Don't you think that's a bit off? My wife should call me by my name, but you and your family have always been so fake. The wife I want isn't like this!"

With that, Alexander turned and walked away again.

"No! Mr. Windsor! You can't leave; you have to take responsibility for me." Clara cried desperately, grabbing onto him.

Alexander's eyes were cold and emotionless as he said, "Someone come!"

"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Four bodyguards responded.

"Take Miss Guise and her family back to the Guise Mansion. Replace all their servants with qualified ones to take care of them, especially Miss Guise's child, until it's born. No mistakes allowed during this time!" Alexander commanded.

"Yes, Mr. Windsor! We'll handle it right away!" the bodyguards replied.

Clara's legs went weak, and she almost collapsed, but a bodyguard caught her. Alexander's bodyguards were well-trained. Since he ordered them to watch Clara and ensure nothing happened to the baby, they took their job seriously.

Clara was helped up.

But Oliver and Lila both fell to the ground, sitting there in shock, staring blankly at Alexander as he walked away.

"No," Lila screamed and fainted on the spot.

Oliver, equally lost, looked at Lila and then at Clara, who was being supported by two bodyguards.

Their family was being treated like prisoners.

Alexander walked out of the hall and headed to his car, where Gavin was waiting. "Mr. Windsor, Elizabeth was hit by a truck and is now missing. The driver fled the scene," Gavin reported.

Alexander responded, "I get it."

"Mr. Windsor, where are you going now?" Gavin asked, concerned.

Gavin was actually relieved that Alexander left the wedding. He didn't approve of Alexander marrying Clara, but he couldn't stop him. Luckily, Alexander backed out in time.

Alexander didn't answer Gavin's question. He didn't know where he was going; he just knew that at the most critical moment of the wedding, he had to leave.

Clara wasn't the wife he wanted.

And then there was Elizabeth's disruption.

Elizabeth claimed she was carrying his child and that she was the woman who had a one-night stand with him?

"Find Elizabeth!" Alexander ordered.

Gavin was silent. Where would they find Elizabeth?

As if reading Gavin's mind, Alexander said, "Search the entire city."

Gavin agreed, "Yes, Mr. Windsor." He started the engine, and the car sped away from the wedding scene.

On the way, Gavin drove while instructing his team to search the entire city for Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, back at the wedding scene, Oliver, Lila, and Clara were escorted back to the Guise Mansion by the bodyguards.

Within an hour, all the servants were replaced.

The speed of it all made Oliver shiver.

Fortunately, they only replaced the servants and watched over them without eavesdropping on their conversations. After arranging the new staff, a bodyguard said to Oliver, "Mr. Guise, you better ensure the safety of your family, especially the unborn baby. If anything happens, unless your whole family is dead, you'll wish you were."

Oliver was silent.

The bodyguard left the house, only guarding the perimeter.

Oliver finally had the chance to question Lila and Clara, "Tell me, what happened! Why did Alexander suddenly change his mind? And why did Elizabeth disrupt the wedding at such a critical time? How did she know she was pregnant with Alexander's child?"

Lila looked at Oliver with tearful eyes and said, "I told her."
