Chapter 279 She Is Mrs. Windsor
Anouk looked at Elizabeth, who was surrounded, with a smug expression, gloating, "Bitch! You finally got what you deserve! You didn't expect Mr. Windsor to come personally to deal with you, did you? He's going to chop off the hand you used to steal the bag! Serves you right!"
Suddenly, she screamed in pain, "What are you doing? Why are you grabbing me? Let go! Let go of me, Mr. Windsor. Why are your men grabbing me?"
Anouk felt she hadn't done anything wrong.
She had been obediently following Alexander since she arrived, and he had always appreciated her, often giving her several extra glances.
Anouk struggled, her eyes filled with immense fear as she looked at Alexander, saying, "Mr. Windsor, help me."
"Too noisy!" Alexander looked at Anouk nonchalantly and said to Gavin, "First smash the hand she used to steal the bag, then cut it off. Throw the rest of her into the septic tank."
"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin responded, immediately grabbing Anouk and starting dragging her out.
This action terrified everyone present.
The ladies in the banquet hall covered their mouths with their hands in shock, their eyes wide open as they watched the scene.
The reporters gathered outside the door all tacitly turned off their cameras and put away their microphones at that moment.
A lady's hand was about to be chopped off! Such news would be explosive, but who would dare to publish it?
They could only watch the scene inside in stunned silence.
"Mr. Windsor. Spare me, what did I do wrong? Please tell me, don't chop off my hand. No!" Anouk wailed like a pig being slaughtered.
Meanwhile, Alexander turned a deaf ear, only looking at Elizabeth and walking towards her step by step.
Owen stepped forward, standing in front of Elizabeth and saying, "Alexander, I'm willing to take Elizabeth's punishment. You can chop off my hand, and do whatever you want. For the sake of the daughter Elizabeth bore you, please spare her!"
Simon said, "Mr. Windsor! I'm willing to give you all my assets. Please spare Elizabeth."
Alexander's brow furrowed, his face becoming extremely grim!
"Do you want all four of them to die?" Alexander adjusted the ring on his thumb and asked Elizabeth, who was behind Owen, nonchalantly.
Elizabeth immediately stepped out from behind Owen and came to stand in front of Alexander.
She said nothing, her expression even more indifferent and cold than Alexander's.
"Come here!" Alexander commanded briefly.
Elizabeth walked towards Alexander.
Everyone held their breath.
Owen and Simon even opened their mouths wide, fearing that Alexander would kick Elizabeth away in the next second.
As Elizabeth came up to Alexander, he pinched her chin, his tone suddenly turning into a scolding one, "I've only been gone for three days, just three days! And you managed to get yourself into such a mess! You're worse than five-year-old Alice!"
Elizabeth didn't say a word.
"How could you let someone snatch your handbag? What's wrong with you!" Alexander pulled her into his arms, holding the back of her head to make her look at him, and asked, "Can you take care of yourself, can you?"
Elizabeth nodded.
"If you can take care of yourself, how did you end up in such a mess, beaten like a dog in the street!"
Elizabeth remained silent.
"Don't tell me this is your silent protest against me going to Pariz without you, so you caused this trouble in Sunwillow City?"
Elizabeth finally spoke up, "No."
Everyone present was silent.
And just then, Anouk, who had been dragged to the banquet hall door by Gavin, suddenly grabbed the door frame with both hands and screamed, "Can you at least tell me why? I didn't do anything wrong, but why are you going to chop off my hand? You should at least let me die knowing why, right?"
Gavin looked at Anouk coldly, asking, "You really want to know why?"
Anouk nodded desperately, tears flying everywhere.
"Where did the bag in your hand come from?" Gavin asked.
Anouk fell silent.
"Where did it come from!" Gavin repeated sternly.
Anouk answered timidly, "Elizabeth's."
Gavin's sharp eyes bore into Anouk as he said, "This handbag is crafted from meticulously selected crocodile leather with a uniform pattern. It is expertly made by the most seasoned artisans in the world, making it truly one of a kind—a true work of art. There is only one in the entire world, and its value is beyond measure!"
Anouk was stunned. "What did you say?"
Gavin continued, "This is the handbag Mr. Windsor gave to Mrs. Windsor, and you dared to claim it as your own!" At this moment, even without Alexander's order, he wanted to kill this ignorant Anouk.
"Are you saying Elizabeth is..."
"How dare you call out Mrs. Windsor's name?" Gavin shouted, with his grip on Anouk tightening, making her scream in pain.
"Stop howling here! First, go get your hand chopped off!" Gavin continued to drag Anouk out.
Anouk wailed as she looked at Elizabeth, who was held in Alexander's arms.
At that moment, she felt dizzy.
Elizabeth was actually Alexander's wife?
Despair surging in her heart, Anouk, not knowing where she got the strength, struggled desperately and pleaded, "Mrs. Windsor, please, please save me. My daughter Daphne is friends with your daughter Alice, Mrs. Windsor. Please save me. I know I was wrong, but my daughter is only five years old. Could you wait until I raise her before punishing me?"
Elizabeth turned to look at Anouk, feeling no sympathy for Anouk. What did it have to do with her?
But Elizabeth thought of the small figure of Daphne in the kindergarten, who was about the same height as Alice. They often played together, carefree and without any suspicion.
The adult world was something children couldn't understand.
Every child was so innocent and adorable.
Elizabeth tugged at Alexander's sleeve, saying, "Her daughter is friends with Alice."
Alexander found it amusing but asked Elizabeth coldly, "Are you pleading for her?"
Elizabeth didn't answer.
"Come back!" Alexander called to Gavin, who had already reached the door.
"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin answered, immediately dragging Anouk back.
Anouk immediately crawled to Elizabeth, hugging her leg and pleading, "Mrs. Windsor, please spare me. I was blind and didn't know you were Mr. Windsor's wife. I insulted you and stole your bag. Please spare my life, please."
Everyone inside and outside the banquet hall was collectively stunned.
