Chapter 331 Please Don't Take Over My Nest
Simon shrugged and said gently, "Go out and take a look."
Seeing his slightly mysterious expression, Elizabeth guessed there might be something he couldn't say openly. But seeing Simon's relaxed demeanor, she knew that whoever was looking for her probably wasn't a bad person.
At the very least, the person was polite enough to wait outside the company.
Elizabeth walked out of the company and saw Owen standing not far away.
"It's you?" Since that humiliating incident at the banquet hall three weeks ago, Elizabeth hadn't seen Owen once.
Owen looked even more solemn than he did three weeks ago. "Elizabeth, are you okay?"
Elizabeth smiled and nodded. "I'm fine. I haven't seen you since then, and I didn't get a chance to thank you. Thank you for saving me in the banquet hall that day."
Hearing Elizabeth's gratitude, Owen felt a bit relieved.
Then, he asked hesitantly, "Would you consider me a friend?"
"Yes." Elizabeth nodded.
"Thank you." Owen, a man in his thirties, suddenly smiled with relief.
"I have something to tell you," Elizabeth said.
"What is it? Just say it. As long as I can do it, I will," Owen said eagerly.
"Actually, I'm not sure if Elodie is closer to you or to Simon. After all, she's just Simon's cousin, and she doesn't live at The Jones Mansion anymore. I was thinking, since Elodie is your fiancée, could you..."
Owen immediately asked, "What's wrong with her? Is she causing you trouble again?"
"It's not me. It's her cousin Harper. She can't go home now, without everything. Meanwhile, Elodie is enjoying herself, occupying Harper's home," Elizabeth said truthfully.
She was now Harper's friend, feeling she had to help Harper seek justice.
Just like how Harper had unhesitatingly helped her deal with Clara today.
Owen was momentarily stunned and silent.
Since that incident at the banquet hall, Owen hadn't contacted Elodie. He had never liked her. When he was younger, he didn't like her because he found her too arrogant and uninteresting. Later, he didn't like her because of Elizabeth.
His heart could only hold Elizabeth; there was no room for anyone else.
After a pause, Owen still said to Elizabeth, "Alright, I'll make sure to handle her."
Although he didn't want to see Elodie again, for Elizabeth's sake, Owen had to find Elodie.
"Thank you," Elizabeth said with a bright smile. "Do you have any other reason for looking for me?"
Owen smiled immediately. "My mom told me that on Saturday, Alexander will take you to the old house to meet all the family and friends. I came to ask if you are willing to go there. After all, every time you go there, it's like a nightmare for you. If you really don't want to go, I can intervene."
Elizabeth lowered her head slightly, her face turning red. "I'm willing to go."
She didn't sound forced at all.
There was a sweetness in her tone.
Owen immediately picked up on that sweetness and was taken aback.
Then he looked at Elizabeth incredulously. "Are you in love?"
Elizabeth remained silent, hit right on the mark, her face suddenly turning red.
She neither nodded nor admitted it.
But Owen could guess a bit and felt both happy and sad for her.
Before, when her heart hadn't fallen for Alexander, he still had some hope.
Now, as she and Alexander grew sweeter, he had no chance anymore.
However, Owen still sincerely said, "I wish you happiness, Elizabeth. Being in a relationship with him isn't easy."
Elizabeth's expression was calm. "Actually, he's quite good. Not as unapproachable as you all think."
"Defending him so quickly?" Owen teased.
Elizabeth laughed, her smile sweet, like an innocent girl.
"Go to work. I'm heading back," Owen said, bidding farewell to Elizabeth.
Elizabeth nodded.
Turning back to the company, as soon as she stepped out of the elevator, she saw Harper and Robert standing outside, not having entered yet.
At this moment, Harper had reverted to her self-conscious demeanor of the past few days.
"Sorry, Mr. Lavien, I embarrassed myself in front of you just now. You know, I'm not very well-mannered. Having grown up at the bottom rung, I became accustomed to being rough and tough. If you think I was too rude and low-class in dealing with Clara just now, I can stop being your date. After all, I'm just a tough girl," Harper said very frankly.
In the past, when she was arrogant and pretentious, she always wanted to marry Robert.
Now, without the arrogance, she still wanted to marry Robert, but she was also aware of the vast difference between herself and Robert. It was a world of difference.
Robert had such a noble status, while she was just a poor girl. They were incomparable.
Harper was self-aware and didn't want to tire herself out, feeling it was good to have a friend like Elizabeth, who was calm and had her own ideas. She even learned to have her own dignity and stance from Elizabeth.
She wouldn't cling to Robert now.
Instead, Robert found Harper even more endearing. "Harper, don't you know how beautiful you looked when you were standing up for yourself just now?"
Harper laughed. "Are you telling me that you find me beautiful no matter what I do?"
"Harper, you have great comprehension," Robert praised.
Harper remained silent.
At this moment, Elizabeth walked over. "What are you two talking about that's making you so happy?"
Seeing Elizabeth approach, Harper immediately clung to her arm. "Elizabeth, let's go inside. We have a lot of work to do. Come on; let's go up."
Elizabeth turned back and smiled at Robert. "Bye."
Robert remained silent.
Elizabeth and Harper were both so audacious!
He was the president of this company!
Was he really so unappreciated?
However, he found Harper more and more adorable.
While Robert found Harper adorable, others might not feel the same.
Especially at the Williams Villa.
After saying goodbye to Elizabeth, Owen called Elodie, who was surprised and delighted to receive his call.
"Owen, Mr. Tudor? You finally decided to call me?" Elodie asked excitedly.
"Come out. I need to talk to you," Owen said coldly.
"Okay! I'll be right out." Before leaving, Elodie even changed into a beautiful outfit, thinking that as long as Owen wanted her, she still had a chance to turn things around.
After all, Owen and Alexander were related.
Dressed up and excited, she came to Owen, only to hear him say, "Please move out of Harper's house immediately!"
"What did you say?"
Owen said with great disdain, "Please don't occupy Harper's home! Move out immediately! Otherwise, I won't be polite!"
