Chapter 222 Riding the Roller Coaster Together
Elizabeth said bluntly, "This is your Windsor family heirloom, I don't want it."
She felt it was inappropriate to take such heirlooms, just like the bracelet Esme gave her last time that almost brought her fatal trouble. Just a few days ago, Alexander asked her where the bracelet had gone.
She found it amusing.
Since it was hers, couldn't she handle it as she pleased?
Apparently not.
He would question her, only allowing it to be worn on her, not sold or disposed of.
Fortunately, she wasn't a greedy or ungrateful person. Six years ago, she had placed that bracelet with Esme's ashes, so when Alexander asked her a few days ago, she could confidently say that she had kept the bracelet well.
And since this pair of crystal bracelets were heirlooms, Elizabeth was even less likely to sell or dispose of them. It was a burden for her to wear them.
"I'm not greedy, nor do I covet anyone's belongings. One day, when Alice grows up and you think I have no more value, you'll definitely take these bracelets back. By then, if my wrists have grown fatter and I can't take them off, it would be a great loss for me that you chop off my hands." Elizabeth finished speaking, laughing at herself.
Alice laughed along, "Mom, your joke is so funny."
That was exactly what Elizabeth meant. She wanted to tell Alexander that she wasn't clueless, but she couldn't let Alice think she was at odds with Alexander.
So, Elizabeth could only choose to joke like this.
These words were particularly grating to Alexander's ears.
He treated her so well, yet she could still say such hurtful words of refusal.
Did she have a heart?
He wanted to pry it open to see.
"Just wear it. Alice is already five. When she turns eighteen and you're no longer useful, if you don't want me to chop off your hands, don't get fat," Alexander said in an incredibly calm tone.
So calm that Alice, sitting in the middle, couldn't detect anything unusual.
She looked at Alexander, then at Elizabeth, sweetly saying, "Mom, Dad cares so much about your figure. He just wants you to always be beautiful. When I grow up, you'll still be beautiful."
How could Alice and Alexander be so in sync!
She smiled at Alice, then hugging Alice's head to her chest, and turning to glare coldly at Alexander.
With a look of defiance!
Alexander didn't even notice.
Gavin did.
He took one look and didn't dare to look again. He quickly averted his gaze, fearing that if he looked too long, Alexander would gouge out his eyes.
To ease the tension, Gavin said, "Mr. Windsor, shall we go home?"
"I want to go to the amusement park," Alice, raising her hand, shouted excitedly.
Elizabeth immediately stopped her, "Alice, you just spent a whole day at the amusement park yesterday. You can't go every day; that's not right. Also, it was too wild for you to smear hot sauce on that lady's face. Today, your dad and I are with you. If we weren't, that woman wouldn't have let you off, which would be dangerous. Understand?"
Alice confidently replied, "Mom, don't worry. If I were alone, I wouldn't fight her because I know I can't beat her. I smeared hot sauce on her face because I knew she wouldn't dare do anything to me. I know how to protect myself and protect you, Mom."
Elizabeth was quite moved by this. She hugged Alice again, saying, "Alice, I know you're doing it for my sake."
Alice said coquettishly, "Mom, I don't want to go to the amusement park every day. It's just that yesterday, there was a ride for three people, and it had to be Dad holding you, and you holding me, on the roller coaster. I wanted to ride it yesterday, but Gavin didn't want to hold Mia."
Gavin, who was driving, was almost speechless.
He was not yet thirty, while Mia was over fifty.
Should he hold Mia?
Gavin looked at Alexander with a wronged expression.
"Gavin, to the amusement park," Alexander said.
"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin replied.
At the amusement park, Elizabeth realized that the roller coaster had a steep slope, both high and steep. Just looking at it made her scared.
She wasn't a coward. Nor was she delicate. But she was afraid of heights.
Her legs shaking so much she couldn't stand, she didn't even realize that Alexander was holding her from behind.
But seeing Alice's excited face, muttering, "I can finally ride with Mom and Dad holding me," Elizabeth suddenly realized that Alice might not really want to play the game, but wanted the feeling of being with her parents.
Thinking of this, Elizabeth, who was afraid of heights, said nothing, taking a deep breath, and forcing herself onto the roller coaster.
Alice was held in Elizabeth's arms, while Alexander sat behind them.
Sitting in Alexander's lap, held by his legs, Elizabeth felt uncomfortable with her face suddenly turning red. Before she could calm down, Alexander's arms had already wrapped around her completely. Being held in his arms felt very safe.
Her fear of heights suddenly lessened, feeling that if he held her, she would be much less afraid. The ride starting all at once, Elizabeth, unprepared, screamed immediately, holding Alice with one hand and grabbing Alexander's arm with the other.
Hearing Elizabeth scream, Alice was even happier, turning her head and saying to Elizabeth, "Mom, I will protect you."
Saying this, Alice grabbed Elizabeth's arm with both hands to give her strength.
Even so, Elizabeth was still scared, especially at the steepest part, burying herself in Alexander's arms like an ostrich.
Fortunately, Alexander held her tightly.
The roller coaster ride made Alexander and Alice very happy, however, Elizabeth was terrified.
She was still shaken two hours after returning home, even losing her appetite for dinner. She ate a few bites, then quickly washing up and going to the bedroom.
Anyway, Alexander would put Alice to sleep, so she didn't have to worry.
Sitting on the edge of the bed, Elizabeth finally had a chance to examine the bracelets closely that emitted a soft glow, very gentle.
So beautiful that Elizabeth couldn't take her eyes off them.
At this moment, the door opened, Alexander walked in casually, bending down and taking her into his arms.
"Do you like these bracelets?" Alexander asked in a low, rich voice.
