Chapter 254 Little Adult Alice

Over there, sure enough, came Molly's voice, "Elizabeth, do I really need to teach you how to speak?"

Elizabeth calmly asked, "How did you get my phone number?"

"Are you kidding?" Molly laughed leisurely. "Your contact information is in the HR files, so I know it. I know you're at the police station giving a statement. Whether Linda can get out of the police station depends on whether you behave."

Elizabeth still in a calm tone, "So, are you trying to protect Linda or yourself?"

Molly suddenly shouted, "What do you mean!"

"I mean mutual destruction!"

"You wouldn't dare!"

"Of course I wouldn't dare. My daughter's fate is in your hands. But, you have to let me tell the truth at the police station, it was indeed Linda who hit me, and the police saw it too!"

Molly was silent.

After a while, she said angrily, "Fine! Who told that idiot Linda to still be holding a shoe when the police arrived!"

Elizabeth hung up the phone with a bang.

After putting away her phone, Elizabeth touched her face and said in a cold tone, "Sir, Linda has swollen my face and loosened my teeth. I request that you punish her according to the law and make her compensate me one hundred thousand dollars!"

Linda shouted, "Elizabeth, I clearly heard Miss Lavien call you. She told you to let me go. If you dare not let me go, she won't spare you!"

Elizabeth in a cold tone, "You hit me, and the police saw it. What does it have to do with anyone else? Sir, you saw it too, but she still doesn't admit it. Everyone in the company can testify that she hit me, otherwise, no one would have called the police, right? Please punish this person who hit me in public severely!"

Linda was silent.

Police said, "Don't worry, we will handle it according to the law."

Elizabeth stood up, saying, "If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."

The injury was examined, and the doctor gave Elizabeth an ice pack to help her reduce the swelling quickly. As she walked out of the police station, she felt aimless, knowing that Molly would still come after her.

And all of this was tacitly approved by Alexander, otherwise, he wouldn't have chosen this time to go to Pariz, to The Lavien Manor.

Elizabeth didn't even know if she could stay alive.

If she didn't have a chance to live, the person she most wanted to see was Esme.

That morning, Elizabeth sat in her neighborhood with an ice pack for three whole hours. It wasn't until after one in the afternoon that she saw Emily leave the house, and then Mia, who was responsible for cooking, also left with a shopping basket. After confirming that there were no servants at home, she put on a mask and went back home.

She had lived in this home for more than two months, and she was quite attached to it.

Attached to the warmth Alexander had given her.

Thinking of these things, tears welled up in Elizabeth's eyes, but she quickly held them back. She hurried to the bathroom and looked at her face in the mirror. After four hours of applying the ice pack, her face had mostly reduced the swelling, but there were still bruises, making it look quite ugly.

Elizabeth gave a bitter smile, putting on her mask again, and opening the box of jewelry that Alexander had once given her in her side bedroom.

In the box was a pair of crystal bracelets given to her by Amara from the Windsor Family.

Seeing these bracelets, Elizabeth remembered that day at The Windsor Manor when Amara told her, "I was originally going to pass these bracelets to your mother, but unfortunately, she passed away too early to wear them."

Thinking of this, Elizabeth thought of Esme's longing to become a member of the Windsor Family.

Quickly wrapping the bracelets, she headed straight to Esme's grave.

The cemetery was extremely quiet, surrounded by flowers.

It was indeed a beautiful and serene place to be buried, especially since Esme and her family were all buried together, so she wouldn't be lonely. Thinking of this, Elizabeth felt a bit more at ease.

Just like the previous two times, she came in front of Esme's tombstone and softly murmured, "Mom, maybe in a few days I'll come down to join you. I can't afford to live in such a beautiful, elegant, and high-end place like you. I might not even have anyone to collect my body. I don't even know if I can find you when I come down. I'm bringing this pair of crystal bracelets to you in advance. Mom, I never had the ability to give you gifts when you were alive, but now I finally can. Do you like it? Mom, please protect your granddaughter in the heaven, okay? Please make sure Alice grows up safe and sound."

After finishing her words, Elizabeth respectfully prayed to Esme.

Then she opened the grave cover, taking out the small box next to Esme's urn, where Esme had once given her an emerald bracelet. This bracelet had been stored here for six years, and no one knew about it.

Who would have thought that such a valuable bracelet would be stored in a cemetery, next to an urn?

Now Elizabeth placed the pair of crystal bracelets in the box, letting these pieces of jewelry stay with Esme, as a token of her affection.

After placing them, she cleaned around the tombstone, wiping it clean with a handkerchief before reluctantly leaving.

By the time she left, it was already close to four in the afternoon. She took out a small mirror from her bag to check her face. The swelling was barely noticeable unless being looked closely. It was time to pick up Alice from kindergarten, so Elizabeth took a taxi to the kindergarten.

Just in time, Alice had just walked out of the classroom. Seeing Elizabeth standing at the door, she quickly ran towards her. When she got close, she suddenly frowned and said, "Mom, what happened to your face? Why are you wearing a mask?"

Elizabeth stammered, "I've a cold and don't want to pass it to you."

Alice finally felt relieved.

However, she then spoke in a little adult tone, concerned for Elizabeth, "No wonder your face is so pale. Mom, you're really a worry. Dad just left for his business trip today, and you've already gotten sick. It seems that without bad dad taking care of you, you really can't manage. Fine, I'll tell him not to go on business trips anymore. I don't need any new toys. Just let him stay home with you so you won't get sick."

Elizabeth was silent.

"Elizabeth!" At this moment, a sharp voice suddenly called out from a distance.
