Chapter 143 Elizabeth's Transformation

"Of course!" Alexander said coldly, "Even though Alice is my hostage, I can't keep her by my side every day and do nothing else, can I? Can you afford the cost of taking care of Alice?"

"So, send her to kindergarten. As for the expenses, they will be added to the debt you owe me. When you pay off the debt, you and your daughter will be free." Alexander's tone was devoid of any warmth.

Gavin, standing behind, wanted to laugh several times.

But he held it in.

Only Gavin knew how hard and tirelessly Alexander had searched for Elizabeth. For six whole years, Alexander had hardly rested, seizing every opportunity to search for Elizabeth across the country.

For Elizabeth, he broke off his engagement with Clara.

For Elizabeth, Alexander restrained his desires.

So, after six years, when Alexander suddenly found Elizabeth and brought her to his side, he didn't beat her up but only spoke to her coldly, which made Gavin feel like Alexander had become a different person.

Watching Alexander get into the car, Gavin said seriously to the stunned Elizabeth standing outside, "Mrs. Elizabeth Windsor, you mustn't think about taking Miss. Alice Windsor to run away again. If you do, Mr. Windsor..."

Gavin was just joking, but before he could finish, Elizabeth said, "I won't run away again. I've decided to entrust my life to Alexander. I'm already grateful that he allows my daughter to go to kindergarten. I know my place very well."

She added, "Don't worry, Gavin. I'm not someone who doesn't understand."

Falling silent, Gavin thought in his heart, 'Do you know your place? You are Mrs. Windsor! The unique identity of the Windsor Group! You mustn't say the wrong thing, or you'll suffer again.'

Gavin only thought this in his heart, not daring to say it out loud. As he waited for Elizabeth to get into the car, he heard Alexander say, "What is your place? Tell me!"

Oh my God!

Gavin felt nervous for Elizabeth.

Elizabeth smiled faintly and said, "A woman for you and your friends to play with." Clearly, after the intense struggle the night before and the whole day yesterday, Elizabeth had accepted this identity.

Alexander sneered, "Get in the car!"

Elizabeth held Alice's hand, obediently getting into the car.

On the way, Elizabeth remained silent, and so did Alexander. Only Gavin chatted a bit with Alice.

"Miss Windsor," Gavin called.

Alice didn't respond.

Gavin called again, "Miss Windsor."

Alice sighed, "Why do you keep calling me Miss Windsor these past two days?"

Gavin laughed, "What, you don't like being called Miss Windsor?"

Alice shrugged, saying indifferently, "I like it, but I'm afraid it won't last. At the previous place, no one respected me because I didn't have a dad. My classmates called me a bastard."

Gavin and Alexander fell silent.

Elizabeth lowered her head.

Alice continued, "They said I was a fatherless child in that I took my mom's last name, Spencer. So they thought I must be a bastard. Now I'm going to a new kindergarten, but I'm afraid my classmates will laugh at me when they hear you call me Miss Windsor. When they laugh at me, I want to hit them.

Once I hit them, the kindergarten teachers will call my mom to criticize her."

At this point, Alice looked at Alexander, saying, "And then the bad guys will make my mom pay a lot of money."

Alice was a very perceptive child.

In her previous kindergarten, whenever someone said something bad about Elizabeth, Alice would fight them until they were too scared to speak.

But this time, after fighting, not only was Elizabeth criticized by the teachers, but she also had to pay a lot of money.

So Alice thought for a moment, then saying to Gavin, "Gavin, don't call me Miss Windsor anymore. I don't like it. Just call me a bastard. If I hear it enough, I won't find it offensive, and hit anyone."

Alice spoke very innocently and unintentionally.

But it made Alexander's and Gavin's faces turn cold.

Elizabeth lowered her head in sorrow.

After a while, Gavin said, "Miss Windsor, in the new kindergarten, all the kids will call you Miss Windsor. No one will dare to bully you, understand?"

Alice asked, "Why?"

"Because..." Gavin looked at Elizabeth, actually reminding her, "Because of your mom."

Elizabeth suddenly laughed.

Her laugh was bitter and a bit defeated.

"That's good," Elizabeth said.

"What?" Alexander didn't understand, Gavin looking at Elizabeth, puzzled.

Elizabeth smiled faintly, "Nothing, let's find a kindergarten for Alice."

That morning, Gavin took them to several kindergartens he had selected, all near their home for convenience.

But none of them were to Alice's liking.

Gavin had chosen elite kindergartens with many facilities but few children, almost one-on-one teaching, which Alice didn't like.

She liked lively places where kids made trouble, played, ran around, and had fun together.

In the end, Gavin said to Alexander, "These are all the options, Mr. Windsor."

Alexander remained silent.

Elizabeth said indifferently, "Gavin, you chose elite schools that Alice doesn't like. She prefers ordinary ones with more kids and more activity. Alice dislikes quiet places."

Gavin looked at Alexander.

Alexander nodded, ordering, "Find a relatively ordinary kindergarten."

"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin replied.

Finding a relatively ordinary kindergarten was easy. Though called ordinary, it was still better than most, with over ten kids in each class, all dressed nicely.

Gavin specifically asked Alice, "Miss Windsor, do you like it here?"

Alice asked, "Is it convenient for my mom to pick me up here?"

Gavin nodded, responding, "Very convenient!"

"Does my mom have to pay a lot of money here?" Alice asked again.

"Not a single dollar," Gavin replied truthfully.

Alice relaxed and sighed, "It's okay, let's choose this one!"

Elizabeth smiled at Alice, "How about staying here to play with your classmates today?"

"Okay!" Alice agreed happily.

So they really left Alice at the kindergarten.

After some instructions, they drove away. Sitting in the back seat, Elizabeth suddenly hugged Alexander.

Alexander was startled, asking gently, "What's wrong?"
