Chapter 191 The Rights Given by the Husband

Alice spoke with childlike innocence.

However, Elizabeth's face turned as red as an apple, she looked at Alexander for help.

Alexander commanded, "Stop the car!"

With his hands trembling, Gavin asked, "Mr. Windsor."

He hadn't even become a reporter or published any news yet. Surely, Alexander wouldn't punish him on the spot, right? Besides, if anyone should be punished, it should be Alice first, shouldn't it?

Gavin looked at Elizabeth for help with a pained expression.

Gavin had always known that Elizabeth was cold on the outside but soft-hearted.

Sure enough, Elizabeth, her face still red, said to Gavin, "It's okay, Gavin. It's Alice's preschool. You can stop here. It's only a few dozen feet; I'll walk Alice the rest of the way."

Gavin wiped the sweat from his forehead in relief, saying, "Thank you, Mrs. Windsor, for sparing me."

Elizabeth smiled slightly, getting out of the car. After walking a few steps, she ran into Susan and her mother, Mira Campbell, who had played with Alice the day before.

Susan was wearing a princess dress, looking very proud.

But compared to Alice, Susan was outshone.

Alice was wearing a custom-made pink coat today, with a high bun on one side of her head, looking very haughty.

In fact, Alice was naturally a proud person.

"Susan, you look so pretty today. I love playing with you," Alice said, holding Susan's hand and generously complimenting her.

Susan looked at Alice enviously, saying, "Alice, you're even prettier than me. Where did you get your coat? I'll ask my mom to buy me one just like it."

When Susan and Alice stood together, Alice clearly stood out more.

But this was something only adults noticed; Susan and Alice didn't care about such things, admiring each other.

However, Elizabeth and Mira didn't get along as well.

Mira, adorned with jewelry and looking very superior, looked at Elizabeth condescendingly, asking, "Ms. Spencer, did you walk here to drop off Alice?"

Elizabeth nodded, replying, "Yes."

"Do you live nearby?" Mira asked again.

Elizabeth shook her head.

"If you don't live nearby, then you must have taken the bus, right? I guess so; otherwise, you wouldn't be walking Alice such a long way. The bus stop is quite far from the preschool," Mira said with a sense of superiority and sarcasm.

It was clear she looked down on Elizabeth.

Elizabeth didn't respond or look at Mira.

She was naturally quiet, not talking much to anyone.

Especially at Alice's preschool, she didn't want to affect Alice's environment and was too lazy to interact with people she didn't know.

Although the parents at the preschool formed a group, it didn't matter if she didn't get along with them.

The less Elizabeth paid attention to Mira, the more interested Mira became. She quickened her pace in her high heels to catch up with Elizabeth, saying, "You, as a mother, are really vain. Just because I said you looked tacky yesterday, you dressed Alice up like this today. Her outfit must have cost your entire savings, right? You people, even in your poverty, can be quite frightening in your vanity. I can't let Susan play with kids from families like yours anymore."

She snapped, "Stay in your place! Why compare with others? No matter how much you compare, your daughter will still look like a nouveau riche! I'm going to tell the preschool director today that you need to be expelled! You don't belong here! Do you think dressing your child in luxury makes you high society? How ridiculous!"

Elizabeth realized that when Mira called her tacky last night, it was just a sense of superiority. But today, seeing Alice dressed better than Susan, Mira couldn't stand it, her jealousy exploding.

Just as Elizabeth was about to retort, an arm suddenly wrapped around her shoulder. Elizabeth turned to see Alexander.

Alexander held Elizabeth while a multi-million-dollar SUV slowly paralleled them.

"Do you know her?" Alexander asked Elizabeth coldly.

Elizabeth stammered, "Weren't you going to the office? Why are you still here?"

Alexander's tone was as cold as a killing sword, giving Mira no leeway. "I said I didn't want Alice to come to this preschool. Look at the kind of people here! Such poor manners! I'll notify the director immediately to expel people like this from the preschool!"

Mira remained silent.

She wasn't stupid; Alexander was clearly not a simple man.

She was so scared that her legs went weak, with her face turned pale. She almost begged Alexander, "Sir, it's my fault. Please give me a chance. It wasn't easy for my child to get into this preschool. We pulled a lot of strings. I promise I'll never do it again. Please."

Alexander snorted coldly.

Mira then looked at Elizabeth, pleading, "It's my fault. I didn't realize you were truly noble and just low-key. Unlike me, who is actually a real bumpkin. Please, for the sake of Susan and Alice being good friends, spare me this time. I promise I'll never do it again."

Mira cried pitifully.

Elizabeth tugged at Alexander's arm, saying, "Let it go. The child is innocent. Susan and Alice get along well."

Mira nodded desperately, looking at Alexander.

Alexander finally said coldly, "This is the last time!"

"Yes, thank you. Thank you," Mira said, nodding repeatedly.

"Get lost!" Alexander said.

Mira stumbled away.

Alexander looked at Elizabeth again, saying, "I don't want to see you being so passive next time. Alice doesn't want to see her mother like this either."

Elizabeth calmly said, "I don't want to cause trouble."

"Don't want to cause trouble? Haven't you caused enough?" Alexander asked.

Elizabeth was too angry to speak.

After a few seconds, she retorted with a cold smile, "So, if Clara provokes me next time, should I just beat her on the spot?"

"Otherwise, do you want to let her off?" Alexander asked.

Elizabeth was really foolish!

She had a husband who was the richest man in Sunwillow City, yet she was bullied when she went out!

"Got it," Elizabeth said with a relieved smile.

Alexander was right. She didn't want trouble, but trouble found her anyway.

The more she was easy to bully, the more people bullied her.

Mira was just a small episode. After that day, Mira never bothered Elizabeth again. But as soon as Elizabeth entered the company that day, she ran into Harper.

To be precise, Harper was waiting for Elizabeth at the company entrance.

"Stop right there!" Harper commanded arrogantly when she saw Elizabeth.
