Chapter 138 Mr. Windsor is Resting, Do Not Disturb
Being silent, Elizabeth naturally understood what he meant by teaching her.
She pushed him away with both hands, trying to struggle free.
She couldn't let him know that even though he had chased her to the point of hiding everywhere, deep down she still longed for his presence, for his embrace. A woman as spineless as her deserved such humiliation, didn't she?
"No!" She pushed him away with all her might, refusing.
"No?" Alexander sneered. "Just a moment ago, you were eager to accompany a man, but now you don't want to? Are you playing hard to get?"
Elizabeth's cheeks turning red from Alexander's words, she felt extremely wronged and stammered, "I was eager? Because you want me to repay you ten million dollars as soon as possible! And Alice is in your hands. What do you want me to do?"
"You know very well what you should do!" Alexander said through gritted teeth.
Elizabeth swallowed her tears, saying, "But we're in the office now, in a public place. Don't you care at all?"
He might not care, but she wasn't shameless to that extent.
She could see that opposite her was a transparent glass wall, and outside the glass was the employees' office.
Through that glass, one could see the entire office outside.
In that office, there were at least sixty people, all part of Alexander's team of secretaries, assistants, and daily administrative staff. Alexander could see everything they were doing from his office.
Looking at the large glass wall and the busy people outside, Elizabeth was so scared that she couldn't even scream. She could only pitifully beg Alexander, "Alexander, even if you don't care about my dignity, you should care about your own image, right? What kind of image will you leave for your employees if you do this in the office? I'm begging you."
"You seem quite concerned about me?" Alexander sneered in response.
Alexander laughed wickedly, "I am the highest authority here. Who dares to look into my office? Even if I put you on the glass right now, do you think anyone would dare to look at you?"
Despite his words, he didn't continue to scare her but placed her on the sofa instead.
Time flew by, Elizabeth and Alexander had lost track of time. A knock on the door startled them, Elizabeth immediately shrank into Alexander's arms in fear, saying, "What do we do?"
Alexander remained calm and composed, sneering at the frightened Elizabeth in his arms, then casually covering her lips with his hand. "You're such a coward."
Then he asked in a deep voice, "What is it?"
"Mr. Windsor, there's a contract that needs your signature," said the secretary, Heather Wallace, from outside the door.
"Wait a moment," Alexander said calmly.
"Okay, Mr. Windsor," Heather patiently waited outside the office, though she found it strange. Usually, when she knocked, Alexander would let her in immediately.
After all, Alexander was always meticulous about work.
Why was he making her wait outside this time?
He was acting so unusual.
After a few seconds, Heather finally heard Alexander's deep, magnetic voice say, "Come in."
Heather immediately pushed the door open and was stunned. Alexander was sitting upright in his exclusive chair. And on his lap, there was a woman who was draped in Alexander's suit jacket, her disheveled hair buried in Alexander's shoulder and neck, and her arms wrapping around Alexander.
Heather wasn't stupid.
Although she couldn't see the woman's face, she knew that the woman in front of her had a very close relationship with Alexander.
Heather had been working at the Windsor Group for three years. In those three years, she came to Alexander for contract signatures every day, but she had never seen a woman in his office, let alone one sitting on Alexander's lap like this.
Heather immediately realized that she had knocked at the wrong time, stammering, "I'm sorry, Mr. Windsor. I didn't know Mrs. Windsor was here."
Heather was certain that the woman sitting on Alexander's lap had to be Mrs. Windsor. She had to be!
Everyone in the company knew how strict Alexander was.
For six years, Alexander had always kept his distance from women.
At this moment, a woman who suddenly appeared had to be someone special.
Moreover, Alexander had brought his daughter to work this morning and had specifically called a meeting to introduce Alice to the entire company, announcing that she was his daughter.
The future highest authority of the Windsor Group.
After bringing Alice in the morning, now, just past noon, there was another woman in Alexander's office, so close to him. She had to be Alice's mother, Mrs. Windsor.
Alexander didn't look up at Heather but said calmly, "Starting next month, your salary will increase by two thousand dollars."
Heather was so surprised that her eyes almost popped out, saying, "Thank you, Mr. Windsor."
"Bring it here," Alexander said.
"What?" Heather asked, confused.
"Didn't you have a contract for me to sign?" Alexander asked.
"Yes, Mr. Windsor, here you go." Heather immediately placed the contract in front of Alexander with great respect.
Despite holding Elizabeth in his arms, Alexander signed the contract without any difficulty.
He skillfully picked up the gold pen and signed the contract with ease and confidence.
Heather was stunned. At that moment, she admired Alexander to the core. At the same time, she envied Mrs. Windsor, who was in Alexander's arms, wanting to become a fan of Mrs. Windsor and ask her for advice on how she managed to win over a man as cold as Alexander. She wanted tips on how to attract a high-ranking executive in the future.
These were Heather's thoughts.
She didn't dare stay a minute longer after the contract was signed.
Although Alexander remained calm, Elizabeth in his arms was trembling and didn't even dare to breathe.
Seeing her so scared, Heather suddenly found it amusing. Mrs. Windsor was really timid and easily embarrassed. Although Heather hadn't seen what she looked like, she felt that Mrs. Windsor must be beautiful.
Heather almost ran out of Alexander's office, thoughtfully closing the door behind her and hanging a sign outside.
"Mr. Windsor is resting. Please do not disturb."
