Chapter 165 Everything Done for Elizabeth
Owen suddenly grabbed Elizabeth's hand in surprise, asking, "Elizabeth, you've forgiven me, haven't you? You've finally forgiven me?"
Not far away, Gavin watched everything unfold, too anxious to look directly.
He worried for Owen in his heart, 'Mr. Tudor, do you still want to live? Do you think Mr. Marcus Windsor saved your life? If Mr. Alexander Windsor wants you dead, no one can save you! Let go of her hand already!'
Over there, Elizabeth had already managed to break free from Owen, taking several steps back, looking at Owen calmly, and saying, "Owen, why don't you understand? I'm not you! No matter what, you have the Tudor Group as your backing, your parents protecting you, and Alexander as your shield. What about me? You were once the brightest warmth in my life. For that bit of warmth, I was willing to be your hidden mistress for life, but I never expected you to make me do such dirty things."
She added, "I still appreciate you for the little warmth you once gave me. Because from childhood to adulthood, I've endured hardships. So I saved your life. But we have no ties anymore, really. It used to be just me, now I have Alice. I have no support in Sunwillow City. You saw it, Elodie wanted to pick on me, and so did Clara. I live on thin ice in Sunwillow City. If you really appreciate that I once saved your life, please don't cause me any more trouble, and don't disturb me, OK?"
Elizabeth spoke very seriously, truly not wanting any ties with Owen.
Owen hurt her once, which was enough for Elizabeth to ignore him for a lifetime. His filth and perversion truly shattered her worldview.
In comparison, although Alexander had been hunting her for six years, it was because he believed she ruined his marriage. Even though he was ruthless, he never did anything so filthy that she couldn't bear it.
But Owen did.
Elizabeth never saw Owen as a person from the bottom of her heart.
So, she didn't hate Owen.
And she certainly couldn't love him!
She just ignored him, only wanting to find a stable job and living her life with Alice.
Later, when she saved some money, she planned to go back home to thoroughly investigate her mother's death and visit her grave.
More importantly, since she had a chance to live, she didn't plan to let the Guise family off!
Thinking this, Elizabeth pushed Owen away, entering the elevator.
As the elevator doors were about to close, Owen pressed the button again, making Elizabeth almost lose her temper.
Owen pleaded, "Elizabeth, I promise you, I will never disturb you again. I just want to tell you that I will help you find Samuel. As long as I can find Samuel, I will protect him with my life!"
Elizabeth was silent.
After a second, she softly said, "Thank you."
After speaking, Owen closed the elevator.
Elizabeth pressed the up button, going to the cyber cafe to post her resume.
Meanwhile, Owen walked out of the building with a dejected look, feeling extremely down and sad.
Every time he saw Elizabeth, his heart felt like it was being torn apart. He realized that Elizabeth was even more serene, indifferent, and mature than six years ago.
But she could never go back to the past with him.
Owen felt that he had completely lost to Samuel, but he accepted his defeat. Samuel who was once his follower never intended to compete with him for Elizabeth.
Later, Samuel was completely won over by Elizabeth, choosing to protect her with his life.
Between the two of them, Owen played with Elizabeth's life.
Samuel used his own life to protect Elizabeth.
Naturally, their positions in Elizabeth's heart were worlds apart.
Owen sighed deeply as he approached his car, about to get in when someone stood in front of him.
"Gavin, what are you doing here?" Owen greeted Gavin with great respect.
Gavin originally had respected Owen, saying, "Oh my, Mr. Tudor, you're not stupid, and you're not a bad person. Why did you come up with such a nasty game to humiliate Ms. Spencer? Some people in this world look glamorous on the outside, high and mighty, like noble princesses, but they might be the kind of women who can play obscene games. Like Clara and Elodie. When you told Elodie about this game, she was very interested, wasn't she?"
He added, "But there are also women in this world who look as lowly as weeds, down and out, dressed like hobos, carrying two big plastic bags on the street, looking like scavengers, they are the kind of women who can never play such games. Not even once! Once you play the game with them, no matter what you do, you can never make it right again."
Owen was in tears, saying, "Gavin, this might be the biggest mistake of my life."
Gavin shrugged and sighed, "She's a good girl. She didn't provoke you, but why did you have to torment her to death?"
Owen said, "I deserve to die."
Gavin agreed, "Of course!"
Owen said, "I will atone for my sins!"
Gavin advised him, "Mr. Tudor, don't let Mr. Windsor hear you say that."
Owen didn't answer Gavin, just getting in his car and driving away.
Gavin's smile softened a bit, 'It seems Mr. Tudor has grown a lot from this, become more mature and sensible.'
With that, he also entered the building.
Upstairs, it didn't take long for him to find the cyber cafe, watching Elizabeth from a distance as she worked on her resume.
He then found a quiet corner to call Alexander back, "Mr. Windsor, Mrs. Elizabeth Windsor is in the cyber cafe printing her resume."
"Got it, come back right away to help me with something!" Alexander said on the other end.
"Yes, Mr. Windsor, I'm coming back now," Gavin answered, immediately driving back to the Windsor Group.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth finished her resume online, sending it to fifty different companies.
It was already past three in the afternoon when she left the cyber cafe. She checked the time; it was time to pick up Alice from kindergarten. She took a bus, then transferred to another, finally arriving outside Alice's kindergarten.
As soon as she got off the bus, Elizabeth saw Alexander's car.
Elizabeth walked over, asking calmly, "Why are you here so early?"
Alexander didn't answer, just handing her a thick stack of documents and saying, "For you!"
Elizabeth took them, instantly stunned.
