Chapter 114 Mr. Windsor's Daughter
Alice stared up at the towering figure of Alexander, feeling a wave of fear wash over her.
She had seen Alexander's face on Elizabeth's computer. Elizabeth would often look at his photos and cry late into the night. Little Alice thought Elizabeth cried because she was terrified of Alexander.
And whatever scared Elizabeth, Alice would be scared of too.
Alice was too frightened to say anything, slowly inching backward.
Behind Alexander, John got even more cocky, yelling, "Uncle Alexander, kill her! Kill Alice!"
Samuel was frozen with fear, and so was Elizabeth.
But then, Alice found a bit of courage and spoke up, "Can you let my mom go, please?"
"Why?" Alexander asked.
"My mom is so scared of you that she cries when she sees you. If you let my mom and Uncle Samuel go, I'll let you kill me." Alice said, looking up at Alexander with wide, innocent eyes.
Five-year-old Alice's big, adorable eyes were just like Alexander's. If she walked into the Windsor Group, people would probably think she was there to ask Alexander for child support.
But right now, Colin and Mira were too busy being jerks, extorting Elizabeth without paying attention.
Gavin, on the other hand, saw everything clearly. He was about to say to Alexander, "Mr. Windsor, are you here to pay child support?" But before he could, Elizabeth's loud scream cut him off.
"No! Alexander, no! Please, Alexander, Alice is innocent. She's only five years old, she doesn't understand anything. And neither does Samuel. Please let them go, and they will never bother you again. If you let them go, you can take my life right now! I'll give it to you immediately!" Elizabeth rushed forward, pushing Alexander away and holding Alice tightly in her arms, looking at Alexander with eyes full of fear.
She knew better than anyone how ruthless Alexander could be.
She had taken care of his dying mother for more than two months. Even if she didn't deserve a reward, she had worked hard, only asking for a hundred thousand dollars as compensation for her survival. She had merely disrupted a marriage he didn't want, but he had arranged for a truck to kill her as soon as she stepped out.
How ruthless could he be?
Elizabeth knew that Alexander wasn't the type to hesitate. Since he had found her, he would definitely make sure she died.
Alexander smiled faintly, which only made Colin and Mira even more terrified. His tone remained calm as he said, "Miss Spencer, this isn't a violent society. No one in this world has the right to take your life privately, and I certainly won't. I'm here today to seek justice for my friend. So, tell me, when can you pay the ten million dollars? Three days? Or a week?"
Gavin stayed silent, but inside he was thinking, 'Mr. Windsor, are you really so selfless and righteous? Have you forgotten that for the past six years, you've been desperately searching for Elizabeth and her daughter?'
However, he had no right to speak. Not only did he have no right to speak, but he also had to act according to Alexander's expression. Alexander looked stern, so Gavin had to look stern as well.
Elizabeth looked at Alexander, her face full of despair. "Ten million dollars? Even if you take my life, I don't have it. I've told you before, Alice and Samuel are innocent. Please let them go. I'll give you my life!"
"Mom, I don't want you to die," Alice cried out immediately.
"Mr. Windsor! I don't want her worthless life. I just want ten million dollars! If it's a dollar less, let her sell her body. Whenever she earns enough, she can pay me back with interest! If she can't earn enough in this lifetime, let her sell herself for the rest of her life!" Colin, lying in the hospital bed, got even more arrogant seeing Elizabeth and Alice crying.
Just then, Colin's doctor walked in. Seeing the commotion in the ward, the doctor frowned.
Alexander turned to Elizabeth and said, "Discussing ten million dollars here is disturbing the patient's rest and the doctor's work. Where do you live? Let's go to your place to talk!"
Gavin suddenly chuckled but quickly covered his mouth. He thought, 'Since when did Alexander use such tactics?'
Gavin hid his smile, looking at Alexander who was seriously gazing at Elizabeth.
Colin suddenly panicked. "Mr. Windsor, you can't let them go. I haven't made her and her daughter confess to me and my son yet!"
Alexander shot a cold look at Colin. "Focus on getting better. I'll handle the compensation issue!"
Colin and Mira exchanged confused looks, a bad feeling creeping in. It seemed like Elizabeth knew Alexander from before. Did they have a grudge?
Colin then carefully examined Alice and Alexander's faces, realizing something he hadn't noticed before. Fear struck him dumb. He no longer felt any pain in his back or buttocks. He immediately rolled off the bed, pulled John to his side, covered John's mouth, and looked at Alexander in terror.
Alexander ordered Gavin, "Gavin, go with Miss Spencer to her home to discuss the compensation details!"
With that, Alexander left the ward.
Gavin looked at Elizabeth and Alice. "Miss Spencer, let's go home first. We need to resolve this matter." He then picked up Alice and walked out.
"Mom," Alice cried.
Elizabeth and Samuel immediately followed.
In the ward, only Colin's family was left. Mira hadn't reacted yet, angrily asking Colin, "Colin, we're about to get ten million dollars! This new friend of yours is really nice, helping you extort so much. Why are you so scared?"
Colin slapped Mira hard, yelling, "You fool! We might lose our lives!"
Mira asked, puzzled, "What's going on?"
"I told you to stop bullying Alice and her mom! Now we're going to get our comeuppance. And you, John! You've caused big trouble this time!" Colin shouted, slapping Mira and John again, who were too scared to speak.
After a while, Mira asked, "Colin, what's going on?"
Colin reminded her, "Alice looks so much like Mr. Windsor."
"Alice is Mr. Windsor's daughter?" Mira asked, suddenly collapsing to the ground.
