Chapter 15 This Is My Husband's and My Wedding
Elizabeth was completely stunned. She asked, "What did you mean?"
Even though she was usually calm and indifferent, she was still shocked by Alexander's words.
"Elizabeth! You've wasted enough time already!" Alexander didn't give Elizabeth any explanation, just forcefully grabbed her arm and led her deeper into the restaurant.
Behind them, the first to be stunned was Owen, who had driven Elizabeth there from the construction site and had just acted as her date. Owen rubbed his forehead, fumbled for his phone, and nervously dialed a number.
Soon, the call connected.
"Samuel, I might be in big trouble," Owen said fearfully.
Driving on the road, Samuel teased, "What's wrong? Mr. Tudor, don't tell me that the girl you took away an hour ago has already slept with you, but in the process, almost killed you?"
Owen chided, "I'm not in the mood for jokes! That woman is Alexander's fiancée!"
Samuel fell silent.
After a moment, Samuel said unkindly, "Owen, I'm driving and can't take your call. Bye!"
Owen was silent as the phone played a busy tone at the end of the call. Just as he was at a loss, his arm was grabbed by a terrified Clara. Owen shuddered and quickly shook off Clara's hand. He curtly asked, "What do you want?"
"Mr. Tudor, please help me. Can you tell me what just happened?" Clara's lips trembled as she spoke, her makeup smeared from crying, and she looked at Owen like a ghost.
Owen pushed Clara away with great disgust.
He couldn't help but sneer inwardly,'How could there be such a fool as Clara in the world!Clearly, Alexander wasn't engaged to you. But you were here in a wedding dress waiting.'
"Sorry, I can't help you. I need to figure out how to save my own life first," Owen replied, shrugged, and walked out of the restaurant with long strides.
Clara was desperate and humiliated.
Turning around, she saw Alexander holding Elizabeth in the hallway, not yet inside. Summoning some unknown courage, Clara lifted her wedding dress and quickly caught up with Alexander and Elizabeth.
Clara frantically blocked their way, grabbing Elizabeth and gritting her teeth as she spoke, "Elizabeth! Did you do this on purpose? You deliberately ruined my engagement party with Mr. Windsor. Elizabeth, our family raised you since you were twelve, and this is how you repay us? How could you be so vicious?! You're vicious!"
Clara cried with tears streaming down her face.
Elizabeth remained calm, not even batting an eyelash. She responded coldly, "Miss Guise, today is my wedding with my husband. This is my husband; we have a marriage certificate, legally. It's our wedding and we didn't invite you. You came here on your own and wore a wedding dress. Are you trying to tell the world you want to be a mistress?"
Elizabeth added, "In all my life, I've never seen such a shameless mistress like you. Even if I don't blame your actions, do you think my husband would agree?"
Her words were cold and sharp.
The Guise family and their invited relatives had done everything they could to insult Elizabeth, making her furious.
"Just a few days ago, Mr. Windsor promised me he would marry me in two months!" Clara reminded while she didn't dare look at the cold-faced Alexander, only glaring at Elizabeth.
Elizabeth's tone grew even colder, "What does that have to do with me?"
Clara fell silent.
She was unwilling!
How could this happen?
Everyone in Sunwillow City knew she was supposed to marry Alexander in two months. And yet the Guise family had invited many relatives and friends today, so now, she and her parents had become a complete laughing stock in front of them.
How could the Guise family maintain their dignity?
At this moment, Clara didn't care about anything else, only her endless unwillingness. She fearlessly grabbed the already furious Alexander, pleading, "Mr. Windsor, you came to our house just a few days ago and personally told my parents you would marry me in two months. Have you forgotten, Mr. Windsor?"
Alexander's eyes were cold as he looked at Clara, gritting his teeth and saying, "I said in two months, not now!"
Clara fell silent.
Alexander handed Elizabeth to the approaching makeup artist and said, "My mother will be here in half an hour. Take her to change into her wedding dress and do her makeup immediately!"
"Yes, Mr. Windsor," the makeup artist replied and took Elizabeth into the dressing room.
Only then did Alexander turn his deadly cold gaze to Clara.
Clara shivered in fear.
She suddenly remembered that she had impersonated Elizabeth to become Alexander's fiancée. Could it be that Alexander had found out that the woman who sacrificed her virginity to save him that night was actually Elizabeth, not her?
If Alexander knew the truth, the entire Guise family might be doomed.
Clara trembled in fear and apologized, "Mr. Windsor, I'm sorry. I'll leave right away."
Before she could finish her sentence, Alexander had already grabbed her arm like a chicken and pushed her to the door. At that moment, Oliver and Lila were anxiously looking down the hallway.
They finally saw Clara come out.
But she was pushed out by Alexander.
Seeing this, Oliver and Lila almost collapsed in fear.
Oliver mustered the courage to cautiously call out, "Mr. Windsor."
"Listen!" Alexander said expressionlessly, "If Clara hadn't saved me, I would have killed her on the spot! Now I'll ask you one more time, do you want compensation or a marriage?"
Oliver and Lila were stunned.
They thought Alexander had taken Elizabeth to change into a wedding dress because he had found out they were deceiving him.
But now it seemed that was not the case.
Oliver immediately nodded repeatedly. He said submissively, "We'll follow Mr. Windsor's wishes."
"If you want me to marry Clara in two months, then leave now! Don't show up here again!" Alexander said impatiently.
The Guise family was truly disgusting.
But Alexander couldn't be heartless to Clara, since had once saved him.
Oliver nodded in agreement, wiping the sweat from his forehead. He replied, "Yes, we'll leave right away."
With that, he took Lila's hand and pulled the still-shivering Clara out of the Azure Palace Hotel.
Alexander straightened his suit and walked back down the hallway, pushing open the door to the dressing room.
Entering the dressing room, Alexander was momentarily stunned.
