Chapter 60 Got the Short End of the Stick, Didn't You?
Elizabeth remained silent.
She didn't know how to explain to Alexander. She knew that today's trap was definitely set up by the Guise family in advance, just waiting for her to fall into it.
She was at a loss for words.
Besides, even if she tried to explain, Alexander wouldn't believe her.
Elizabeth remained stunned and didn't say a word.
"If anything happens to Clara or the Guise family in the future, I don't mind getting rid of you too, and I'll make sure you suffer greatly!" Alexander ruthlessly said to Elizabeth, then left with Clara in his arms.
Elizabeth's heart suddenly clenched tightly making it hard for her to breathe.
She knew he wasn't just saying it.
She had seen with her own eyes how he dealt with his opponents and enemies. Alexander could be extremely gentle, but also extremely ruthless.
And he always kept his word, never showing anyone mercy.
Elizabeth instinctively glanced at Alexander, who was walking towards Marcus with Clara in his arms.
Clara's head rested on Alexander's shoulder, and she looked at Elizabeth with a triumphant smile.
Her smile was incredibly wicked.
When she turned around, Clara's eyes were filled with tears and she looked extremely timid as she said to Marcus, "Mr. Marcus Windsor, hello."
"Grandfather, this is my fiancée, Clara," Alexander said in a very flat tone.
So flat that everyone in the Windsor family could sense that he was not introducing Clara to Marcus for approval, but merely informing him that he had a fiancée.
Alexander's attitude was very clear: no matter whether others agreed or not, he would marry the woman he wanted to marry.
Anyone who disagreed was unnecessary.
Marcus remained silent.
He genuinely despises Clara's timid, pretentious and flattering appearance. He couldn't understand why Alexander had chosen such a woman.
Seeing Clara's flickering and panicked expression, Marcus could tell that this girl did not come from a high social background.
"Whose daughter are you?" Marcus asked Clara with extreme disdain.
"I..." Clara burrowed further into Alexander's arms. "I didn't mean to, I can leave with the child in my belly and never come back to bother Mr. Windsor. I'll leave now, I'm sorry."
Marcus asked, "What, you're pregnant with Alexander's child?"
Clara's face immediately turned red, and she shyly turned her head away. "I already belong to Mr. Windsor."
"Whose daughter are you!" Marcus asked again, unceremoniously.
Clara nervously replied, "The Guise family."
"Which Guise family! What does your family do?" Marcus questioned, since he had never heard of a Guise family in Sunwillow City, and he was naturally extremely displeased.
Was Alexander going to marry another lowly woman into the Windsor family?
Marcus was infuriated by this.
"We do some trade." In terms of family background, the Guise family was nothing compared to the Windsor family, which had assets worth billions of dollars and industries all over the world.
Oliver's assets, at most, were worth fifty million dollars, and that was only because they had business collaborations with the Windsor family recently, earning some significant amount of profit. If it weren't for the misunderstanding that Alexander thought Clara had saved his life, the Guise family would have been eliminated by Alexander long ago.
Having assets worth tens of millions of dollars was nothing in Sunwillow City.
No wonder Marcus didn't even glance at Clara.
Clara's sense of inferiority surged, and she hid in Alexander's arms, as Alexander spoke, "Grandfather, Clara is pregnant, please stop. Otherwise, you might scare the child in her belly, your descendant."
Marcus remained silent.
Alexander declared, "The reason I let you meet her briefly at the hospital entrance is to let you know and be prepared. The woman I will be marrying in this life is Clara."
"After my mother passes away, I will bring Clara back to Windsor Manor as my fiancée to formally meet you. So, you don't need to arrange any more blind dates for me," Alexander's words were not seeking anyone's approval.
They were merely informing. Just informing.
After that, without waiting for Marcus to respond, Alexander turned and left with Clara in his arms.
Clara nervously said, "Mr. Windsor, isn't this impolite?"
"No!" Alexander replied briefly.
Clara called out to him, "Mr. Windsor."
Alexander suggested, "Call me Alexander."
Clara said sheepishly, "Mr. Windsor, I don't dare call you that."
Alexander spoke gently, "I am your boyfriend!"
Clara hid in Alexander's arms, feeling extremely joyful, and called out sweetly and coquettishly, "Alexander."
As she called out, Clara and Alexander happened to walk past the stunned Elizabeth. Hearing their sweet exchange, Elizabeth felt extremely ironic.
Alexander held Clara all the way to the car, personally opened the door for her, and after she got in, he returned.
As he passed Elizabeth, Alexander didn't even glance at her but walked straight to Marcus, informing him, "Grandfather, I'll take Clara to the hotel across the street and be back in ten minutes. My mother doesn't know about Clara's existence, and I don't want her to have any more unpleasantness before she dies. So, I hope you can keep it a secret from her."
Marcus replied, "Okay."
What else could he say?
Although he was the head of the Windsor family and Alexander's grandfather, he was just his grandfather. The Windsor family was now under Alexander's control. If Alexander wanted to discuss things, he would. If he wanted to bring his fiancée to meet him, it was already an act of courtesy.
If Alexander didn't want to give him face, he wouldn't even tell him about the wedding.
Marcus understood Alexander's temperament very well.
In front of Alexander, he could only compromise.
Alexander turned back to the car and drove Clara to the hotel across the street, where Oliver and Lila were waiting for her. As soon as Alexander's car left, Marcus walked up to the still-stunned Elizabeth.
"Are you Alexander's fake wife?" Marcus asked sharply.
He didn't dare to confront Alexander, nor did he dare to confront Clara, who was already pregnant with Alexander's child, but he had no such reservations about a fake wife like Elizabeth.
Elizabeth lowered her head slightly, and replied "Yes."
"Filthy! Disgusting! Smelly! Someone like you wants to be associated with the Windsor family? You're not even fit to clean the Windsor family's toilets!" Marcus said viciously and walked into the hospital.
Behind him, the Windsor family members followed.
However, Owen deliberately stayed behind.
After the group had walked away, he stood in front of Elizabeth, smiling mockingly, and taunted, "Elizabeth. Got the short end of the stick, didn't you?"
