Chapter 315 Stay Away from Me

When Harper used to be arrogant, she was utterly repulsive. Her conceited demeanor made people both despise and hate her.

The lower-level employees resented her but didn't dare to speak out.

And the truly wealthy wouldn't even glance at someone like Harper, considering her beneath even their household staff. So, people like Robert and Simon absolutely detested and looked down on her.

However, this moment was different.

Harper was now extremely cautious, very restrained, having humbled herself to the point of utter self-abasement.

Her silent yet stubborn resistance was somewhat reminiscent of Elizabeth when she was ostracized.

But Elizabeth was never self-abasing, always composed.

Harper, on the other hand, was like a frightened rabbit, completely at a loss.

Too easy to bully.

At this moment, Robert's interest was piqued.

Robert, who never flirted with female employees, suddenly wanted to taste Harper's slightly rough lips.

After all, he had seen all kinds of noble beauties in Pariz, accustomed to their pretentious and arrogant ways.

Now, seeing Harper so utterly self-abased, at a loss, struggling yet unable to break free, he suddenly found himself interested.

He didn't love Harper much.

He was just interested.

Robert didn't expect Harper to suddenly turn her mouth to the side, blushing with nervousness. "No, Mr. Lavien, no! I have no improper thoughts about you. Please don't treat me like this. I've already been kicked out by my parents. I have nowhere to live. I know you won't marry me. If you don't marry me and I get pregnant, I'll be very pitiful. I'm sorry, I..."

Harper wanted to say, 'Would you marry me? I really want to marry you.'

But she didn't say it.

She wasn't entirely foolish.

Even her relative Elodie looked down on her and treated her like a servant, let alone a distinguished man like Robert.

She had improper thoughts about him, but she was also self-aware.

Being kissed by Robert was certainly a sweet thing, but Harper no longer dared to joke around with herself.

Taking advantage of Robert's moment of surprise, Harper forcefully pushed him away and clumsily climbed out of the car. Even as she exited, she tripped over the car door and fell ungracefully in front of Robert.

Harper awkwardly turned back and smiled, "Sorry, Mr. Lavien."

With that, she clumsily got up and ran back into the company without looking back.

Behind her, Robert touched his chin, deep in thought, 'This silly girl is becoming more and more adorable.'

Harper hurried upstairs and entered the elevator, returning to the design department where Elizabeth was, but she didn't see Julia. She cautiously asked, "Mrs. Windsor, where's Julia?"

Harper felt more at ease with Julia.

Elizabeth smiled, "That friend-abandoning girl was invited to lunch by Mr. Jones, and she actually went with him. There's no dealing with her."

Elizabeth's tone was filled with immense affection for Julia, which made Harper very envious.

When Harper first joined the company, it was Elodie's manipulation that made her believe she was someone powerful in the company. Elodie was actually setting her up for failure. She only used Harper when needed and discarded her afterward.

But Harper, unaware of her own limitations, acted arrogantly in the company, making everyone despise her.

Julia, on the other hand, had a good attitude and was well-liked.

Many people in the office liked her, and the superiors had a good impression of her. Whenever an opportunity arose, Julia immediately seized it with Simon.

Maybe one day, Julia could become a high-society lady like Elizabeth.

Thinking of this made Harper even more self-abased.

It only took three weeks to turn an arrogant woman into a self-abased one.

Fortunately, Harper wasn't inherently bad.

Elizabeth noticed Harper's discomfort and said, "It's okay, Julia went on a date. Let's have lunch together."

Harper immediately said happily, "Okay, Mrs. Windsor."

"Call me Elizabeth."

"Elizabeth," Harper said with a smile.

Elizabeth also realized that Harper, like herself, was someone who would be happy with a little warmth.

They chatted and laughed as they headed to the company cafeteria.

Behind them, Yara, who was trying to curry favor with Elizabeth, watched them leave thoughtfully. As they walked away, Yara followed.

In the elevator, she encountered Cleo.

They exchanged glances, somewhat disdainful of each other.

But they simultaneously realized they were both trying to win Elizabeth's favor. Suddenly, they reached a consensus.

"I saw her forgive Harper with my own eyes. If she can forgive someone like Harper, I think if we curry favor with her a few times, we should be able to get her forgiveness too, right?" Yara said to Cleo.

Cleo sighed, "Nowadays, everyone likes to be flattered, and Mrs. Windsor is no exception. Since she wants to regain her dignity, let's give her plenty of it."

Yara laughed, "Cleo, we really think alike. I believe if we can get Mrs. Windsor's forgiveness, we might even become friends with her like Harper."

They got more and more excited as they talked.

Cleo immediately said, "Their rich circle is..."

"We really might have a chance. Cleo, you weren't here earlier, but Mr. Lavien suddenly grabbed Harper's hand and pulled her away. You know how much Mr. Lavien used to despise her," Yara said, slapping her forehead.

"Then we..."

They fantasized as they got off the elevator and entered the company cafeteria. Looking around, they spotted Elizabeth and Harper, who had already gotten their food. They immediately ran over happily, approaching Elizabeth and Harper.

Harper was so startled she didn't dare to eat, looking up at them and asking, "Am I sitting in your usual spot? If I am, I'll move."

They ignored Harper and only looked at Elizabeth, speaking in unison and with utmost respect, "Mrs. Windsor, we sincerely apologize and hope for your forgiveness."

With that, they bowed deeply.

Elizabeth immediately covered her mouth and nose, saying, "Stay away from me!"
