Chapter 241 A Man's Jealousy

Alexander was silent.

It was the first time he had seen Elizabeth so proactive, but her face was already flushed, with her burning cheeks pressing against his cold chest, immediately giving him a different feeling.

Alexander lifted Elizabeth's face with his hand, staring intently at her. She was really acting out of character today, but she hadn't said why. Now wasn't the time to ask her.

He wrapped his arms around her and lifted her up entirely.

Then, his voice turned husky and sexy, "Do your male colleagues at the company like you?"

"No," she stammered.

"Do you know you can't lie?" Alexander said irritably.

Yes, she couldn't lie.

She really didn't want her male colleagues to like her. In fact, they might not even like her. What right did she have? The male colleagues were just more generous and less troublesome than the female colleagues.

They just couldn't stand the troublemaking female colleagues.

Elizabeth wasn't lying.

But in front of him, she couldn't help but feel so nervous that she couldn't speak.

Her nervousness, in his eyes, seemed like a guilty, clumsy lie. Alexander suddenly exerted force and threw her onto the center of his large bed that was soft and big, making her look particularly petite.

Because of his force, her nightgown was lifted when she was thrown down, and Alexander made a new discovery about her.

She was wearing nothing but a nightgown.

Had she come today intending to offer herself?

Elizabeth indeed had that thought.

It wasn't because she wanted to repay him or please him for being good to Samuel.

She would never do such a thing.

She just suddenly realized his goodness, feeling a touch in her heart, and thinking that being close to him made her feel safe. She felt she had somewhat wronged him before, so she wanted to get closer to him.

They were husband and wife, weren't they?

Between a husband and wife, it didn't matter who took the initiative.

Elizabeth had thought about it today and acted on it.

But ultimately, she was inexperienced. In this aspect, her skills were far inferior to his.

This night was not as beautiful as she had imagined.

He was punishing her, and during the punishment, she could feel his anger and frustration.

She didn't ask him why he was angry, just silently enduring it.

"Serves you right!" Alexander said harshly.

He was angry with himself in his heart, not admitting he was jealous of Elizabeth's male colleagues!

It wasn't until Elizabeth couldn't take it anymore and fell asleep in his arms that he stopped. Alexander looked down at Elizabeth, kissing her deeply on the forehead, then got up to the bathroom to get a dry towel to wipe her sweaty body before holding her to sleep again.

The next day.

Elizabeth struggled to sit up, and Alexander grabbed her arm, saying, "Don't go to work this week."

Elizabeth bit her lip, saying, "This job wasn't easy to get. I don't want to take more leave."

"Suit yourself!" Alexander snorted coldly, then asked her, "What happened at the company yesterday? Did the female colleagues ostracize you?"

Elizabeth was silent.

How should she answer him?

The whole night of his punishment had cleared her mind a lot. He had healed Samuel's leg, but he was still the ruthless, cold Alexander.

Elizabeth staggered out of bed and gave him a faint smile, replying, "No."

"Don't want to say?" Alexander hooked her waist, not letting her go.

She shook her head, replying, "No, you know I rarely interact with people in public and don't talk much, so they say I'm aloof. It's nothing else. I still want to keep this job. The issues at work are minor, no big deal."

She really didn't want him to know. What good would it do her if things got blown up? Losing her job would make it hard to find another.

Alexander didn't force her anymore.

Instead, he watched her squat down to pick up her nightgown from last night. Seeing it was unwearable, she angrily threw it at his face, then grabbed his shirt from yesterday, which hadn't been put in the laundry yet, putting it on.

"I wore that yesterday. It's dirty and smells," Alexander said.

"None of your business!" Elizabeth put on the shirt and walked out of his room, limping. Seeing her angry and annoyed look, Alexander was momentarily stunned.

No wonder so many male colleagues at the company were unconsciously fascinated by her.

Getting up, Alexander went to the bathroom to take a shower and then came out fully dressed.

By this time, Elizabeth had also showered and changed into her work clothes for the day. Today's outfit was her own choice, a bit more thoughtful, not too flashy, but not outdated either.

Elizabeth was naturally a clothes hanger. Generally, unless it was intentional, any clothes looked good on her. Today, she wore a loose black turtleneck shirt, paired with a skirt and high boots, making her look both capable and cool.

Very beautiful!

"Change it!" Alexander said.

Elizabeth was silent. Alexander was unreasonable!

Seeing Elizabeth puff out her cheeks, he immediately said, "You almost couldn't get out of bed yesterday. Wearing such a fitted skirt and high boots today is inappropriate. You should wear loose cotton jeans and casual shoes."

Elizabeth turned to go to the closet, and Alexander added from behind, "The top is loose enough, no need to change it. Just change into jeans and casual shoes."

Elizabeth ignored him, just finding the loosest jeans and relatively matching casual shoes to wear.

Actually, the jeans and casual shoes were custom-made and felt much more comfortable than before.

But the combination made her look like an innocent schoolgirl.

"That's better!" Alexander said domineeringly.

Elizabeth wanted to kick Alexander.

But her arms and legs were really sore, so she had to give up!

After breakfast, Gavin arrived on time to pick up the three of them. They first went to the kindergarten to drop off Alice. At the kindergarten, Alexander didn't get out of the car. Instead, Elizabeth held Alice's hand and walked to the kindergarten. Just as they reached the entrance, Elizabeth saw Mira.

"Mrs. Campbell, have you already dropped off Susan?" Elizabeth asked politely.

Mira smiled awkwardly and then asked, "Ms. Spencer, why is your phone always off? Are you avoiding us?"
