Chapter 120 Holding Her in His Arms
Elizabeth blinked in confusion. "Stay at your place?"
Alexander didn't bother to answer. Instead, he grabbed Alice's hand and started walking out. Alice followed him without a word, their steps matching perfectly despite their size difference.
Elizabeth trailed behind, momentarily stunned.
Her heart was a mess of emotions. She remembered how Alexander was also shunned by the Windsor family when he was young, and how Esme had taken him abroad to live in exile.
Now, Alice was facing the same fate.
Quietly, she followed Alexander and Alice. Just as they were about to reach the car, a man suddenly appeared from the side. He looked to be around sixty, with a face full of flesh and a completely bald head, save for a few strands of hair on the sides that couldn't hide his baldness no matter how hard he tried.
The old man approached Alexander, trying to flatter him, "Mr. Windsor, you are back!"
Alexander gave him a cold look. "Who are you?"
"I'm Neil Diaz, a senior executive at the Wisdom Group. Just call me Neil. I was here with Mr. Steven Tudor to check on Mr. Marcus Windsor's condition."
"Do you need something?" Alexander asked, still cold.
"I want to be of service to you," Neil said, practically groveling.
Alexander frowned. "What do you mean?"
Still holding Alice's hand, Alexander watched as Alice frowned too, glaring at the annoying old man.
"I hold a high position in the Wisdom Group, and I know that six years ago, Mr. Owen Tudor was harmed by Elizabeth. Mr. Windsor, you also suffered because of her. I know you went to great lengths to capture Elizabeth this time to punish her severely."
Alexander nodded, looking at Neil with an expressionless face.
Neil's face lit up. "Mr. Windsor, have you thought of a way to punish Elizabeth?"
Elizabeth glared at Neil coldly.
In this city, there were probably many people like Neil who wanted to see her suffer.
She really didn't know how miserable her and Alice's fate would be.
Sometimes, she thought, life was truly bitter and it would be better to die.
At that moment, Elizabeth hoped that Alexander would be merciful and end it quickly for her and Alice, rather than torturing her like this.
Elizabeth, Alexander, and Alice all watched as the bald, pot-bellied Neil explained his method of punishing Elizabeth.
Neil's tone was filled with undisguised excitement, "Mr. Windsor, Elizabeth is naturally promiscuous, seducing so many men. And she wasn't satisfied with that, even trying to ruin your wedding with Ms. Guise and seduce you. Such a woman should just become a prostitute. I'd be happy to manage her. I promise you, I'll make Elizabeth obedient, then throw her into a brothel. This way, we can make money off her body and torture her at the same time."
Elizabeth's eyes widened in anger. "Bastard! You'll die a horrible death!"
Neil was nothing but a thug and a pervert! He had overheard people gossiping about Elizabeth and knew she had been captured by Alexander. Figuring Alexander wouldn't go easy on her this time, he had a bright idea and thought he could both suck up to Alexander and get his hands on the much-hated Elizabeth.
Neil looked at Elizabeth with a creepy grin and said, "You wretched woman, I'm doing this for Mr. Windsor."
Before Neil could finish his sentence, Alice unexpectedly shoved him to the ground. His fat body hit the floor with a thud, limbs flailing, and his fat jiggling all over.
Before Neil could get up, Alexander gave Gavin a look. Gavin got the message and dragged Neil away.
"Mr. Windsor, you don't need my help?" Neil shouted as he was hauled off.
Alexander's face was so cold that Elizabeth didn't dare say a word.
Still holding Alice, Alexander put her in the car, then turned to Elizabeth and said, "Get in the car!" Silently, Elizabeth got in, not caring to admire how much Aldoria had changed in six years. She noticed Alexander was driving to the same place he lived six years ago.
Half an hour later, they arrived at the building.
Alexander parked the car and carried Alice out.
Elizabeth noticed that although they hadn't spoken much along the way, Alice was no longer as afraid of Alexander. She even wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her. Elizabeth silently followed them into the elevator and up the stairs.
They opened the door.
A maid, about forty years old, stood at the door with a smile, greeting, "Mr. Windsor, you're back. As you instructed, the soup is ready, and I've made some desserts that children love."
After speaking, the maid saw Alice and exclaimed, "Miss Windsor, welcome home."
Alice looked at Alexander timidly, asking, "Aren't you going to kill my mom and me? Why are you being so nice to me?"
Alexander replied coldly, "I am going to kill you, but you're too skinny. I'll fatten you up first, then kill you!"
"Sit down and eat!" Alexander ordered.
"I can't eat," Elizabeth answered, not knowing what Alexander was planning, and too scared to eat.
"If you don't eat, the million dollars you owe will start accruing interest!" Alexander said.
"Fine, I'll eat!" Elizabeth said. No matter what was in the food, she would eat it.
After a long journey and a trip to the hospital, it had been a six-hour ordeal. Alice was hungry and ate heartily.
Elizabeth didn't eat much, staying vigilant around Alexander.
On the other hand, Alice's guard was dropping. After all, she was just a child. After spending six hours with Alexander, Alice no longer saw him as an enemy. Not only that, but Alice also fell asleep right after eating.
After putting the sleeping Alice in the guest room, Elizabeth came out and bumped right into Alexander's chest.
At the same time, Alexander wrapped his arms around Elizabeth.
Elizabeth trembled with fear, saying, "What... what are you doing?"
