Chapter 195 Elizabeth Is Not Someone to Be Trifled With

For Elizabeth, Sunwillow City had always been a troublesome place. This was destined from the moment she arrived in Sunwillow City at the age of twelve. So, encountering such situations on her first day at the company was something Elizabeth had long since stopped caring about.

Since she had to live in Sunwillow City for the rest of her life, she could only broaden her mind. If she couldn't avoid it, she would face it strongly.

For instance, right now, she just wanted to have a good job, not wanting to cause trouble.

When Elizabeth said this, her colleagues around her were disheartened, no one daring to speak again.

That afternoon, Elizabeth was still sitting at her desk, helping Linda proofread some draft drawings Linda had given her. Initially, she tentatively asked Linda, "Linda, your design drawings..."

"Can you understand my drawings?" Linda jeered. Although she no longer dared to kick Elizabeth when she was down, she was still holding a grudge, so her attitude towards Elizabeth was still angry.

Elizabeth nodded, saying, "I can understand."

"Figured you could understand!" Linda rolled her eyes, sarcastically saying to Elizabeth, "You're not as old-fashioned as you seem. You have a strong fighting spirit, but no matter how strong your fighting spirit is, it doesn't mean your professional skills are strong! The stronger the fighting spirit, the weaker the professional knowledge, because most of your energy is spent fighting with colleagues in the company!"

Elizabeth remained silent.

"What? Do you have any objections to what I said? Or do you want to fight again in this office? Let me tell you, there's no one here to frame you!" Linda said.

Elizabeth slightly lowered her head, saying in a calm tone, "I just wanted to ask if your design drawings need to be proofread for accuracy."

"Do you have the qualifications?" Linda retorted.

Elizabeth asked, "Didn't you ask me to proofread?"

"I asked you to check if I made any mistakes or forgot to mark something, not to change my design drawings. Elizabeth, I have backups on my computer! If you dare to change my design, I won't let you off! You can't bear that responsibility!" Linda said aggressively to Elizabeth.

Did Elizabeth think that by fighting back against Harper, she could have a say in the design department?

Ridiculous!

Elizabeth's tone remained calm, "Everyone in the office can hear what you're saying. Besides, your design drafts are printed out. Even if I want to change them, I can't. I just want to clarify my job scope. Okay, now I know."

After saying that, she continued proofreading.

That entire afternoon, she didn't find any typos or missing annotations.

Just before getting off work, Elizabeth finished reviewing the materials Linda had given her, handing them back to Linda. As she was about to leave, Anna walked in from outside.

"Elizabeth, what's going on? I was away for two days, and I heard that you, a new employee, caused quite a stir?" Anna asked Elizabeth in a very serious tone as soon as she entered.

Elizabeth responded calmly, "Ms. Morgan, as a new employee, I haven't done anything unrelated to work."

Anna asked, "Then what happened?"

After speaking, she looked at Linda, asking, "Linda, didn't I ask you to guide Elizabeth? What have you been doing?"

Linda sarcastically said, "I was guiding her, but she has a knack for attracting men. Yesterday at lunch in the company cafeteria, she caught Mr. Lavien's eye. Mr. Lavien, although he loves beauties, has never approached any women in our company. But he showed quite an interest in Elizabeth, which made Harper very unhappy. Moreover, Harper and Elizabeth already had personal grudges. Elizabeth was the homewrecker who ruined Harper's sister Elodie's relationship!"

Elizabeth said angrily, "Linda! You need to take legal responsibility for your words!"

Linda fell silent.

Anna immediately scolded, "Linda! As a company employee, you can't make baseless claims without witnessing it yourself! Elizabeth, now tell me, what happened with Harper's injury?"

What did it matter if Elizabeth was a homewrecker?

However, it was a big deal if her employee injured Harper during work hours, especially since Elizabeth was new. Anna thought she might have to fire Elizabeth today.

Too much trouble!

She looked sternly at Elizabeth, waiting for her response.

Elizabeth calmly said, "Anna, I believe the HR department, logistics department, and security department will give you and me the best answer. Since you are my supervisor, please help me handle this matter now!"

Anna looked at Elizabeth and nodded, agreeing, "Alright."

Anna and Elizabeth went to the HR department together. After Anna negotiated with Joseph, they called the logistics manager, going to the monitoring room together.

After reviewing the surveillance footage, they found that Harper had quietly gone to the logistics warehouse alone, finding a discarded chair, and secretly swapping it with Elizabeth's chair. When Elizabeth returned, she swapped the chair back to Harper's seat.

Harper, unaware, sat down, getting injured.

Anna, Joseph, and the security department were all speechless.

"Is there anything else?" Elizabeth asked Anna.

Anna was silent. This was indeed a hot potato.

If she didn't deal with Elizabeth, she wouldn't be able to explain to the company's shareholders once Harper recovered. But if she fired Elizabeth, despite Elizabeth being a new and seemingly honest employee, she wasn't someone to be easily bullied.

What to do?

Anna called Elizabeth to her office, saying earnestly, "Elizabeth, you don't understand the situation here. In this company, you can offend anyone but Harper who is a relative of our major shareholder, Mr. Jones. In our company, she represents power. So, you should stay home for a couple of days. Come back when she's calmed down!"

Elizabeth nodded, replying, "Okay."

She knew her job was probably over.

She initially wanted to ask for her salary, but thinking it was just two days, she decided to let it go.

That evening, Elizabeth left work with a bit of melancholy, really wanting this job. Despite all the issues, as long as the HR department and Anna didn't fire her, she would continue working there. She wasn't afraid of rumors or Harper's trouble, just wanting a job.

But even this small wish couldn't be fulfilled.

She thought, 'Forget it, I'll continue job hunting tomorrow.'

She walked alone towards the bus stop. Just as she turned the corner, a car stopped in front of her.

Elizabeth was startled. When she saw who was inside the car, she was even more shocked, asking, "What are you doing here?"
