Chapter 335 A Change of Mind

Elizabeth's face suddenly turned red. "Really?"

Before Alexander could answer, Gavin quickly responded to Elizabeth, "Of course it's true, Mrs. Windsor. The Windsor Group's official Twitter has already announced it. You are Mr. Windsor's wife, and now the whole city knows that. No one will have any issues with you like before."

Elizabeth knew Gavin was trying to comfort her.

She smiled calmly, "Thank you, but it doesn't matter. No matter what tomorrow's event is like, I'm fine with it. As long as the three of us are together, that's the best. As for any awkward situations, I can handle them."

After saying that, she took the initiative to lift Alexander's hand and placed her hand in his.

Alexander didn't say anything, just holding her hand tightly.

That night, they went to bed early. During the night, Elizabeth wanted to mess with Alexander for a bit. He held down her wandering hands and gently said to her, "Not tonight. We have to go to the old house early tomorrow. I can't let you get too tired today."

Unexpectedly, Elizabeth said, "Moderate exercise makes a woman more beautiful. You said that. Tomorrow at the banquet, I am the real leading lady. So, I have to be the most beautiful woman. Don't you want me to be more beautiful? I remember now. You've never really wanted me to be beautiful. You've always wanted me to dress plainly and look unattractive."

Elizabeth's words, both openly and subtly mocking, left Alexander stunned.

He had always known her to be quiet and reserved, with occasional outbursts when she was really angry. But this was the first time he had seen her so happy and relaxed, delivering such a long speech.

And it was full of sarcasm and mockery.

Alexander said in disbelief, "So you're not really quiet and reserved."

Elizabeth scoffed, "Who told you I was quiet and reserved? I had great communication in school, okay? I got along well with my classmates."

Alexander fell silent, saying nothing; he was truly quiet and reserved, no matter the situation.

After a few minutes of silence, he suddenly turned around and unexpectedly pinned her down.

Elizabeth was so startled that she tensed up. "What are you doing?"

Alexander sneered, "Didn't you just say that moderate exercise is good for the body and will make you more beautiful tomorrow morning?"

Elizabeth fell silent.

She was the one who initiated it this time, but why did it turn into him taking the lead again?

That night, which was supposed to be peaceful, turned incredibly wild halfway through.

The entire night was wild and sweet, indescribably wonderful.

The next day.

It was already light out, and Elizabeth was still sleeping soundly.

She was having good dreams.

She dreamed of wearing a wedding dress and having a grand wedding with Alexander, also dreaming that her mother was still alive.

Recently, she had been thinking about going back to her hometown and often thought of her mother, which is why she frequently dreamed of her mother, Quiana Miller.

And every time Elizabeth dreamed of Quiana, Quiana was still alive.

Quiana was standing right in front of her.

Elizabeth even woke up smiling.

But upon waking, she realized it was just a dream, feeling melancholic immediately.

At this moment, Alexander interrupted her daze and confusion in a timely manner. "Stop dawdling. If you're awake, get up. A makeup artist will be here soon to do your makeup, and then we'll go to the banquet."

Elizabeth asked incredulously, "Is it really necessary? A makeup artist coming to the house?"

"This is the best way to showcase your status; understand?" Alexander said.

Elizabeth nodded. "Understood!"

She got up, had breakfast, and soon the makeup artist arrived to do her makeup.

It took nearly two hours before they were ready to leave.

Before leaving, Elizabeth called Julia.

Julia answered quickly, "Elizabeth, let me guess how beautiful you are today."

Elizabeth said bluntly, "Definitely more beautiful than you. So, are you ready?"

Julia nodded. "Harper and I are ready. We also called Mr. Jones and Mr. Lavien. They said they'll be here soon. We'll meet at The Windsor Manor."

Elizabeth smiled. "See you at The Windsor Manor."

Never before had she felt so confident going to The Windsor Manor.

This time, she and Alexander were in sync, and she had two friends. Even if something happened at the event, Elizabeth was confident her two friends would help her.

"Alright, I'm hanging up. Bye." Elizabeth said to Julia.

"Bye, see you soon."

After hanging up, Julia looked at Harper. "Harper, to be honest, all those clothes you bought before were a waste. They either made you look flashy or like a nouveau riche. None of them suited you. But today, you look great. Mr. Lavien has good taste. What were you thinking before?"

Harper said in a slightly gloomy tone, "Julia, before I considered you a friend, I didn't realize how much Elodie looked down on me. Many of the clothes I wore were given to me by her. She said she was giving them to me, but it was really charity. Every time, she spoke to me condescendingly.

"If I showed even a little bit of displeasure, she would get very impatient. Maybe because I followed her for so long, I became subservient to her and learned to be bossy. Recently, spending time with you and Elizabeth, I realized how Elodie really treated me.

"She wanted to see me embarrassed while making me feel grateful to her.

"None of the clothes she gave me suited me. Today, I realized how much she was trying to make me look bad.

"From now on, I won't let her use my money from work.

"I'll buy my own clothes, even if they're cheap, as long as they suit me."

"Good." Julia nodded. "I support you, Harper. Go for it! Let's work hard and marry rich men!"

In private, Julia and Harper didn't shy away from shouting such slogans.

But just as she and Harper finished speaking, Julia's phone rang again. She picked it up and answered, "Hello?"

It was Simon calling. "Julia."

Hearing Simon's voice, Julia immediately called out to Harper, "Harper, grab your bag. Let's go. They are here to pick us up. Hurry downstairs."

On the other end, Simon said, "Julia, no, it's like this. Robert and I can't come to pick you up."

Julia was stunned for a moment. "What did you say?"
