Chapter 252 She's Back Again
Linda, with one shoe raised in the air, turned around abruptly to see that the person stopping her was the youngest male employee in the office, Austin. Austin had just graduated from college, twenty-two years old, and was an intern. In previous instances when a few male designers in the department stood up for Elizabeth, Austin had remained silent. But this time, he suddenly spoke up.
Before Linda could react, Austin kicked her to the ground.
For a strong man in his twenties, hitting a woman was an easy task. The moment Linda was kicked over, before she could react, Austin had already picked up Elizabeth and ran out like a fierce lion.
Elizabeth was silent, stunned.
This boy, Austin.
Elizabeth had interacted with Austin during the few weeks she worked here. Austin was quick-witted, eager to learn, and often smiled in front of her. Elizabeth was also willing to teach him practical experience, just as Esme had taught her without reservation. But even so, she didn't think she was worth Austin saving her like this.
As Austin carried her out, Elizabeth desperately tried to get down, saying, "Austin, put me down. I have to stay and take the beating today. You don't understand, I have a daughter. If I don't let Molly vent her anger today, my daughter might not have a future. You don't understand. Let me down. I need to go back and let them hit me."
Austin was silent. For some reason, hearing Elizabeth say this made his heart ache. He didn't listen to Elizabeth and continued to run madly with her in his arms.
He ran to the elevator, and coincidentally, the elevator was open. He carried Elizabeth downstairs and only put her down when they reached the main road outside the company. Austin, panting, said, "Elizabeth, you need to run. Take your daughter and run to the ends of the earth. Never come back."
Elizabeth shook her head helplessly, saying, "I've been running for six years, and they still caught me."
"Fuck!"
"Austin, leave this city and never come back."
"What about you?"
"Me? If I can trade my face for my daughter's lifetime of safety. If they destroy my face but let me live to see my daughter grow up, I think it's worth it."
"You're still going back to let them hit you?"
Elizabeth didn't answer but turned and walked towards the elevator.
At the elevator door, she looked back at Austin, saying, "By the way, Austin, send me your account number on your phone. I'll transfer a million dollars to you so you can stay out longer. Make sure to send me your account."
Austin's throat choked up immediately, "Elizabeth."
"Go quickly!"
With that, she immediately entered the elevator.
Meanwhile, back in the design department, seeing that Elizabeth had been rescued by Austin, Harper immediately snatched two broken shoes from Linda's hand, saying, "Miss Lavien, I'm going to chase Elizabeth now. That guy carrying her can't run fast. I'll catch up to her and smash her face!"
Harper hoped Molly would say, "Don't chase."
But unexpectedly, Molly calmly said, "She can't run. She will still come back. Trust me, she is just that cheap!"
At this moment, Julia really wanted to grab the shoes and beat Harper and Molly.
Before Julia could act, Linda snatched one of the shoes from Harper's hand and said, "Miss Williams, I also hate Elizabeth. Let's both beat her and see who can smash her face more thoroughly, okay?"
Seeing Linda and Harper fighting to beat Elizabeth, Molly's smile grew even wider.
At this point, Julia couldn't hold back any longer, shouting, "Harper, you idiot!"
Everyone was stunned, all eyes turning to Julia.
Julia, with a look of disdain, cursed at Harper, "Harper! You always claim to be rich, as if you have so much power and influence, but you're just an employee! Would a truly wealthy lady be so stingy with high-end skincare products? Being poor is not a problem! But a poor person being used by the rich is your pitiful and foolish part! Why do you keep targeting Elizabeth? Did she steal your man? No! Even if she stole your cousin's husband, why does your cousin never stand up for herself? But you keep doing it for her. Fool, idiot, if you dare to touch Elizabeth today, I'll tear you in half!"
After scolding, she glared at Linda, cursing, "Linda, you bitch! If it weren't for Elizabeth solving your mistakes, you would have been fired long ago! And Elizabeth didn't ask you for a single dollar! Are you even human? If you dare to hit Elizabeth, I'll bite and disfigure you!"
Harper was silent. She had already given up, really not wanting to hit Elizabeth.
Even when she placed a broken chair in Elizabeth's spot earlier, her intention was just to embarrass Elizabeth, not to hurt herself.
In fact, Harper deeply regretted the chair incident.
So, when Julia called her a fool being used by Elodie, Harper backed down.
Seeing Harper back down, Linda sneered disdainfully, "Harper! I thought you were so capable, but you're just a coward, a wimp. If you don't hit her, I will. As soon as Elizabeth comes back, I'll smash her face!"
"Linda, you bastard!" Julia suddenly exploded, grabbing Linda's hair and hitting her. Linda fought back, grabbing Julia's nose.
They started fighting without any warning.
Elizabeth had just come out of the elevator and saw Julia and Linda fighting.
"Enough!" she shouted abruptly, "Linda! I'll let you hit me. If you want to smash my face, go ahead! Just let Julia go! This has nothing to do with her! Molly, I beg you to let the innocent go!"
Molly raised an eyebrow, saying, "Good, very good! You're willing to come back, that's great! Linda, let Julia go."
Linda obediently let go of Julia.
Elizabeth quickly ran to Julia. One of Julia's nostrils was already bleeding from Linda's scratch. Elizabeth was heartbroken, saying, "Julia, leave here. I don't want you to see me getting beaten. Go quickly."
Knowing that someone cared about her, Elizabeth was already very grateful.
How could she let Julia take the risk?
Julia was silent.
Molly had already ordered, "Linda, hit her hard!"
Linda walked towards Elizabeth step by step, saying leisurely, "Elizabeth, I want to see if anyone will come to save you this time."
