Chapter 293 How Will You Thank Me?

"Elizabeth! You prisoner! Do you have any conscience left? My parents raised you for eight years, and you dare to sow discord between them!" Clara started cursing.

So what if Alexander married Elizabeth?

Clara wasn't afraid of her.

This time, she had come to Pariz with Declan for treatment and had been by his side the entire time. Clara had witnessed Declan's extensive network in the national political circles of Pariz.

Clara finally realized why Declan was so highly respected in Sunwillow City, to the point where even Alexander had to show him some respect.

It turned out that Declan's network was indeed vast.

And everyone in it was a top-tier political figure.

With Declan backing her, Clara wasn't afraid of Elizabeth, no matter who she married.

On the other end, Elizabeth cleared her throat and said in an incredibly calm tone, "Clara, I wasn't trying to sow discord between them. I originally wanted to kill them. It was only because I lacked the ability that I chose to sow discord instead. But now, my relationship with Alexander is public. I am now Alexander's wife, both in name and in fact. One of the things I will do next is to destroy the Guise Family!"

Elizabeth's words sent a shiver down Clara's spine.

Clara forced herself to stay calm and said, "You wouldn't dare!"

Elizabeth sneered, "That depends on how much I hate the Guise Family. And it depends on who I married. I married Alexander, and my husband can destroy the Guise Family! From now on, you should be prepared. Maybe one day, when I'm in a good mood, I'll destroy you."

Clara mechanically asked, "Come to destroy us?"

"Yes," Elizabeth replied curtly.

Then, she hung up the phone.

After hanging up, she looked at Alexander and gave a calm smile.

She said, "This is the second time I've used your name to suppress the Guise Family. I still remember the first time was six years ago, at the hospital entrance. I used your name to intimidate them, and I even pushed Clara. Because of that, the good impression you had just started to build of me was completely ruined."

She spoke with utmost calm.

Her voice had the unique hoarseness of the early morning, carrying a hint of laziness and indifference.

In Alexander's ears, it had a special charm.

Alexander wrapped his arm around her and asked in a similarly lazy tone, "Aren't you afraid of me this time?"

Elizabeth shook her head and said coldly, "You are my husband, aren't you? You are not Clara's husband. I have a grudge against the Guise Family, and you should avenge me! Now I understand. You are my husband! Not anyone else's! Clara, Molly, they are all outsiders! I am your only wife! Using your name is only legitimate when I do it! As for whether you oppose it, that's your business. You can oppose it."

Alexander was silent, left speechless by her words.

Did he oppose it?

Not only did he not oppose it, but he was also using the Windsor Group's official Twitter account in the middle of the night to post tweets with her!

Seeing her calm expression, he couldn't help but feel a sense of grievance.

Elizabeth, this woman!

The longer she stayed by his side and the more she experienced, the calmer she became.

Maybe one day, she would even surpass him.

While Alexander was in a daze, Elizabeth snuggled back into the bed and continued sleeping.

Alexander asked, "What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

She turned her back to him and raised her arm, marked with purple kiss marks, hitting his chest.

He casually grabbed her arm, which felt so delicate that a gentle pinch might make water come out.

He bent down and scooped her out of the bed, making her face him. Then he seriously asked, "Are you feeling unwell somewhere?"

Elizabeth shook her head, her face flushed, and she lowered her head, bumping into his chest.

Alexander chuckled, "You've already had a child, and you still get embarrassed so easily!"

She mumbled, "I don't!"

"Then why are you sleeping in? You usually don't sleep in!" Alexander asked, worried she might be hiding something from him.

Elizabeth straightforwardly said, "I don't have a job anymore. Why should I get up early?"

"What do you mean you don't have a job?"

"I was fired by the company. Even if I wasn't fired, with all the rumors about me online, I would be drowned by public opinion if I went out."

Elizabeth wanted a job more than anyone else, wanting to work and earn a salary through her own efforts.

She felt that was very secure.

But in Sunwillow City, she always had bad luck with jobs.

"You can go to work," Alexander said.

Elizabeth was puzzled.

"Don't you want to set a good example for your daughter, to show Alice that her mother is an independent woman?" Alexander asked.

Elizabeth was silent, feeling a sense of grievance from being turned against.

She glared at Alexander, asking, "You want me to go to work just to hear people gossip all the way to the company, and then have the company tell me in person that I've been fired, but why am I still coming?"

"No one is gossiping about you, and no one is firing you. You can go to work," Alexander said again.

Elizabeth was silent, suddenly realizing something.

He was Alexander, the King of Sunwillow City.

She immediately opened her phone, sitting in Alexander's lap, and went online, desperately searching for yesterday's trending topics.

But, except for the one that said, "King of Sunwillow City Alexander is actually afraid of his wife," there were no other trending topics.

Of course, the Windsor Group's official Twitter didn't count.

Elizabeth looked up, biting her lip in disbelief, and asking, "Did you suppress all the reports from those reporters yesterday?"

Alexander replied irritably, "Didn't you say your husband is Alexander? Why not use your husband's power?"

Elizabeth was silent.

At this moment, it was impossible for her not to be moved.

"Thank you," Elizabeth bit her lip and said.

"How will you thank me?" Alexander asked with interest.

Elizabeth was silent.

At this moment, she was still sitting in his lap, neither of them wearing clothes, able to see each other completely, though he could see her more clearly.

He was more scheming than she was, and she didn't dare to look at him.

Alexander stared at her, waiting for her to express her gratitude.

After a while, Elizabeth raised her arms, wrapping them around his neck, and with a flushed face, slowly leaning in to kiss him.
