Chapter 373 Her Mother Did Not Die

Remy was stunned. "She's a whore, been messing around for years, no husband. What's your last name?"

As Remy asked these questions, blood kept flowing from her chest. She just kept looking at Alexander.

Gavin, who was stepping on Gage, and Elizabeth, who was nestled in Alexander's chest, could both see that Remy was struggling before her death.

"Are you scared?" Alexander gently asked Elizabeth.

Elizabeth shook her head. "As your wife, I'm naturally not afraid. Even if you hadn't come just now, I wouldn't have spared these bastards. I planned to catch the leader and end his life!"

She wasn't afraid when she was held here before, and she's even less afraid now. She had never met Remy in her life, yet Remy was so cruel to her, planning to imprison her and sell her for a good price. People like Remy deserved to die!

Elizabeth poked her head out from Alexander's embrace, looking at the increasingly pale Remy, and said innocently, "Sorry, Remy. This is my husband, Alexander Windsor."

Remy was completely stunned. "Elizabeth, did you really become Alexander's wife? Clara said you could never marry Alexander. She lied to me!"

Clara had even laid her vicious plans in Elizabeth's hometown, deceiving a distant relative Elizabeth didn't even know.

Alexander said coldly, "Bury her."

Gavin responded, "Yes, Mr. Windsor. I'll take care of it later."

"Don't bury me. Call an ambulance. Elizabeth, I beg you. I'm your cousin. If you save me, I'll return the $30,000 I embezzled from you. I'll even help you contact Clara. She wanted to harm you. I only wanted to educate you. I love you." At this moment, Remy was desperately pleading while trying to cover her bleeding wound.

Elizabeth remained extremely calm, her voice cold. "Sorry, Ms. Spencer! I only knew that I lived with my mom and dad, the three of us together. When my dad was seriously ill, I was only three years old. My mom carried me in a basket on her back to the mountains to gather herbs for my dad, slowly healing his leg.  My mom did all the heavy lifting at home and always took care of my dad. When he was alive and we were so poor we had no food, I never saw you or any relatives help us. So now, when you're dying, how come you're suddenly my relative?"

Remy was silent. After a while, she pleaded again, "I'm sorry. I swear, I am your cousin."

Elizabeth was unmoved. "Just now, I begged you to let me go, saying I didn't want any relocation compensation. You said you weren't my relative. If you were, would you have brought men to rape me? Remy, you were determined to kill me!"

Remy was silent as she watched her blood flow out, slowly losing consciousness and feeling endless regret for being so forceful with Elizabeth. In the end, she bled to death in the bar she ran—a semi-secret place for prominent men from various fields. Then Remy's bar was quickly cleaned up.

Alexander held Elizabeth tightly as they walked out. Behind them, Gavin had almost crippled Gage, dragging the limp Gage out like a ragdoll.

As they stepped outside, they encountered fifteen men.

"What are you doing here? Where's Ms. Spencer?" one of the men demanded.

These were the men Remy had called, planning to have them gang-rape Elizabeth to death.

Alexander's expression was calm. "Dead."

"Who is dead?" the leader couldn't believe it.

"Remy!" Alexander said coldly.

The helpers were stunned. None of them dared to speak, just watching as Alexander held Elizabeth and walked out of the bar.

And behind Alexander was Gage, who had been trampled by Gavin. Seeing Gage in such a state, they felt a chill run down their spines.

Elizabeth got into Alexander's car, and Gavin drove them back to the hotel. Alice was still asleep when they arrived, so they gently carried her back to the car.

Elizabeth urged immediately, "Gavin, please drive faster. I was kidnapped by Remy. If not, I would have been watching the excavator all the time. I'm afraid they'll start digging. I must retrieve my parents' ashes before they start."

Gavin accelerated again.

In fifteen minutes, they arrived at Elizabeth's village. As she expected, the excavators had started digging again.

"Wait! Stop! I'm a member of this family. I have proof, and I'll show you." Elizabeth got out of the car and ran forward frantically.

Just like three hours ago, she stood under the excavator, and it stopped again.

Elizabeth looked at the workers and neighbors, then shouted, "I know you all see me as just an outsider, an illegitimate child brought here by my mom. Fine! I don't care about this village or the compensation for my old house. Give it to whoever you want! All I want is to take my parents' ashes and leave. I'll never come back!" She was deeply saddened, but she fought back her tears.

However, Bodhi beside her asked incredulously, "Elizabeth, you can take your dad's ashes, but did your mom die? When did she die? You didn't bury your mom here, how can you open her grave?"

Elizabeth was in shock. Then, she murmured, "My mom isn't dead?"
