Chapter 363 Returning Home
"I'll burn you alive! You bitch! I want to ruin your face! Let's see how you seduce rich men now! How could I let you be better than me? It's all your fault! My fiancé left me, then Alexander blacklisted me, and two days ago, you embarrassed me at the Windsor Family's party! You deserve to die!"
Even though Elodie was already restrained by two security guards, she continued to scream hysterically.
As Elodie screamed, Robert shouted, "You wretched woman! How could you be so cruel? You threw concentrated sulfuric acid at your sister! It hurts like hell!"
Robert's sleeve was burned away, exposing a two-inch burn. He gritted his teeth in pain, sweating profusely, while Harper stood stunned with fear.
"Call an ambulance!" Robert yelled at Harper.
"I'm on it!" Harper quickly dialed for an ambulance.
While waiting for the ambulance, Robert instructed Harper again, "Call the police!"
Harper hesitated. "She's my cousin."
"She wants to ruin your face!" Robert glared at Elodie, who was pinned to the ground. Holding his arm in pain, he angrily walked over to Elodie and stomped on her face, "You wicked woman! Truly evil! Did you hear that? You're about to ruin Harper's face, yet she is still thinking of you as her cousin. Who do you think you are? A mean, heartless woman!"
When Robert decided to be harsh with a woman, he showed no mercy.
Pinned under his foot, Elodie gritted her teeth and cursed, "She doesn't deserve it! How can she be your girlfriend? She's nothing but a worthless slut. I'm the one with noble status!"
Harper remained silent, and tears fell from her face. "Elodie."
At this moment, Elizabeth ran up to Harper. "Are you okay?"
Harper shook her head. "I'm fine. Robert protected me, but his arm..."
By this time, the ambulance had arrived. Robert immediately got on, and Harper joined him to get his arm treated. Naturally, Elodie was taken away by the police. Even as she was being taken away, Elodie continued to curse Harper and Elizabeth until she was finally put into the police car.
That afternoon, after hurriedly distributing the chocolates she had bought, Elizabeth called Alexander. Gavin drove Alexander and Elizabeth to the hospital to see Robert.
Robert's arm had been bandaged. Fortunately, the burn area was not large and not on exposed skin. The doctor had used the best medication, so it shouldn't be a big problem.
"How could you be so careless? This happened in Sunwillow City, which is my territory. How am I supposed to explain this to your father and uncle?" Alexander said sternly.
Robert suddenly raised his arm. "I'm fine. They call this 'saving the damsel in distress.' I'm pursuing a girl, just like you taught me!"
Alexander fell silent.
When had he ever pursued Elizabeth to the point of getting injured?
He really wanted to pick Robert up and give him a good beating!
But seeing Robert injured, Alexander let it go.
"Harper?" Robert called out.
Deeply moved, Harper responded, "Mr. Lavien."
"Tell me, you want to marry me!" Robert commanded.
Harper nodded vigorously. "Yes."
"Come here!" Robert called again.
Harper walked up to Robert. Ignoring the others in the room, Robert lifted his injured arm and immediately tried to kiss Harper.
Since falling on hard times, Harper had become particularly self-conscious. Normally, she wouldn't even let Robert hold her hand. But now, Harper was finally tamed.
Simon and Julia walked in just as Robert was about to forcibly kiss Harper.
Simon shouted as he entered. "Robert, what's going on? Is your injury serious?"
Julia, on the other hand, was more concerned about Harper. "Are you okay? Is your face alright?"
Harper turned around, her eyes red with tears as she looked at Simon and Julia. She was deeply saddened. At that moment, the only people who cared about her were two new friends and her new boyfriend. Her family, however, had not shown up. Distracted by Ursa's constant insults over the phone, she hadn't noticed Elodie approaching with a bottle of sulfuric acid.
Simon walked up to Harper, who was so scared she moved closer to Elizabeth, thinking Simon was going to help Elodie. She stammered, "Simon."
"Did she hit you?" Simon asked, heartbroken.
Harper remained silent.
"Has she been bullying you since you were little?" Simon asked again.
Harper shook her head bitterly.
Simon fell silent. At that moment, the pain he felt was beyond words. He wondered if the Jones family could really be so unlucky as to have found two impostor girls. Nevertheless, he was determined to get to the bottom of it.
Thinking this, Simon comforted Harper, "It's okay. If anyone bullies you in the future, come to me."
"Simon! You already have Julia!"
Simon retorted, "Is your mind ever on anything other than girlfriends?"
"I'm thinking about my pain," Robert wailed from his hospital bed.
The others in the room laughed.
That afternoon, Elizabeth had originally planned to go home early to pack her bags, but was delayed by Harper's situation.
As they left the hospital, Elizabeth repeatedly instructed Simon, "I'll be gone for a week. Make sure you take good care of Julia."
Simon nodded. "Don't worry."
Elizabeth then looked at Robert, whose arm was in a sling, "Mr. Lavien."
Before Elizabeth could finish, Robert interrupted, "I'll take good care of my own girlfriend. Don't worry."
Elizabeth smiled and nodded.
At four in the afternoon, they picked up Alice and hurried home. Due to the tight schedule, Elizabeth quickly packed her clothes and, along with Alexander and Alice, was driven to the airport by Gavin.
As Gavin was going through security with Alexander, he received a phone call, "Hello, what's up?"
Whatever was said on the other end made Gavin pause. He then called out to Alexander, his face extremely serious. "Mr. Windsor, something's happened."
