Chapter 107 Elizabeth's Background

In this small town where everything felt foreign, Elizabeth was completely lost. She didn't know a soul, couldn't figure out the directions, and didn't even have a phone. When she pulled out Samuel's phone, it was locked with a password.

Just as she was staring helplessly at the unconscious Samuel, his phone started ringing.

She picked it up and saw that Simon was calling.

With trembling hands, Elizabeth answered, "Hello, Mr. Jones."

"Elizabeth, are you crying? What's going on? Is Samuel with you? How are you answering his phone?" Simon's voice was urgent.

"Samuel's unconscious and burning up with a fever. His hand wound is getting worse. I don't have a phone, and I have no idea where to find a doctor or a hospital," Elizabeth said, her usual calm shattered.

"Listen, Elizabeth, you need to save Samuel. He could die if you don't. Stay calm. Find a public phone booth and call for an ambulance. Get him to the emergency room first, and we'll figure out the rest later. I'll call you back soon," Simon instructed, trying to keep her focused.

Elizabeth nodded through her tears, feeling a bit more grounded. Simon's words gave her a clear plan.

"Mr. Jones, I'm hanging up now. I need to find a phone booth," she said.

"Okay!" Simon replied.

After hanging up, Simon let out a sigh of relief. At least he knew Elizabeth and Samuel were still alive, which was a huge relief.

He didn't tell Elizabeth that Alexander was sending people all over the world to find her. Judging by Alexander's rage, he probably wanted to kill her.

It made sense, though. His wedding was almost complete, and Elizabeth had ruined it. Who wouldn't be furious?

Especially someone as powerful as Alexander?

Luckily, Simon wasn't dragged into the mess, thanks to the strong ties between the Jones and Windsor families, and because Declan had a stellar reputation nationwide.

So, Simon got off scot-free.

But when he got home, Declan tore into him. "What were you thinking! Elizabeth, that woman with no dignity, ruined everything! And you drove her to disrupt Alexander's wedding. Are you out of your mind? Do you want to bring disaster upon the entire Jones family?"

Simon shot back, "Alexander didn't do anything to me!"

Declan snarled, "He didn't do anything to you because I swallowed my pride! You've completely disgraced me!"

Simon fell silent.

"Dad? What's wrong? Did Simon make you angry again?" a deep voice called from behind.

Declan turned to see his son Lucas Jones and Lucas's wife Juniper Miller, who had been away for three months, had returned.

"Dad, Mom! You're back! Did you find any trace of Aunt Donna?" Simon immediately got up and asked when he saw his parents return.

Lucas and Juniper had gone out, supposedly for their thirtieth wedding anniversary trip, but in reality, they were on a mission to find Donna. Before they left, they had specifically told Simon to take good care of Declan. They never expected to come back to find Simon had made Declan blow a fuse.

Lucas shot a stern look at Simon. "Simon, what did you do to make Grandpa so mad? Spill it!"

Simon sighed, "It's about Aunt Donna..."

"What's Donna got to do with this? Elizabeth just resembles her a bit. Well, I think Alexander's fiancée Clara looks like Donna even more!" Declan snapped.

"Elizabeth?" Lucas asked, turning to Declan.

Declan sighed, "You know Alexander is ruthless and never drags things out. When he made his comeback, the Guise family helped him a lot, especially Oliver's daughter Clara, who even sacrificed her virginity to help Alexander and is now carrying his baby. Although Alexander is ruthless, he is a very responsible man. He doesn't want his child and the child's mother to suffer the same hardships his mother did."

Declan continued, "I can see that he doesn't love Clara. But whether Alexander loves her or not is the Windsor family's business. Simon, how could you be bewitched by that Elizabeth and disrupt Alexander's wedding! Are you out of your mind! Now tell me, where is Elizabeth? She must take responsibility for the trouble she caused!"

Lucas finally understood. So, Alexander got married to Clara from the Guise family.

"Dad, you said Alexander's bride is Oliver's daughter? Named Clara?" Lucas asked, excitement creeping into his voice.

"What's the matter?" Declan looked at Lucas, puzzled.

"We've been searching for Donna's whereabouts for three months. We found a factory where Donna used to work. The gatekeeper said that Donna had a relationship with a man named Oliver Guise twenty-five years ago," Lucas explained.

"Oliver Guise?" Declan was stunned.

"Oliver is also from the country. Dad, didn't you just say Clara looks a bit like Donna?" Lucas asked, leaving Declan deep in thought.

"Could it be..." Lucas trailed off.

Simon stayed silent, not wanting Clara to be a member of the Jones family. Although he didn't know Clara well, the few times he had met her, his impression of her was extremely poor.

Hearing this news, Declan no longer had the inclination to discipline Simon. Instead, he focused all his attention on Oliver. Declan and Lucas, along with Juniper, discussed the matter in the living room.

Taking the opportunity, Simon dialed Samuel's phone number again.

If he remembered correctly, Elizabeth was the adopted daughter of the Guise family, who looked a lot like Donna.

How could it be such a coincidence?

Simon dialed the number, but Samuel's phone was turned off.
