Chapter 314 Sudden Change
Alexander didn't even look at Robert.
This scared Robert so much that he broke out in a cold sweat.
Why did Alexander come back again?
Robert forced a smile as he looked at him, "Alexander?"
"You and Clara are really alike," Alexander said calmly, looking at Robert.
Robert shouted, "What did you say? That Clara who just left here in disgrace? Alexander, are you comparing me to her?"
Robert felt like dying. He explained, "Alexander, I'm not here to see Elizabeth."
"I'm not here to see her either," Alexander said calmly.
He really didn't come back to catch Robert and Simon.
The truth was, the photos and videos of Elizabeth that Robert showed him yesterday were so sweet and sunny. He had been looking for Elizabeth for six years and had been sleeping with her every night for so long, yet he had never seen Elizabeth smile like that. But she gave her smile to her two friends.
Alexander came to see what kind of people her two friends were.
He knew that once he left, her two friends would immediately come to find Elizabeth.
However, he never expected that when he came back, he would see Robert and Simon.
Alexander had no particular thoughts.
The main shareholders of this company were Robert and Simon.
But while he stayed clam, Robert and Simon were scared half to death. For a moment, the minds of the two company presidents went blank.
However, they still had a bit of rationality left.
Standing in front of them were two girls.
One was Julia, and the other was Harper.
Simon was next to Harper, originally wanting to take her and leave, but she was grabbed by Robert first.
Robert took her hand and said, "Alexander, I've actually admired Harper for a long time. The reason I'm here now is to ask her to go to the movies. Harper, let's go."
Harper was silent, staring at Robert in a daze, with her eyes full of confusion and a sense of inferiority.
Harper hadn't forgotten that just three weeks ago, Robert had personally driven her away, cursing her, and saying he would kill her. He had said all kinds of disrespectful things to her. She no longer blamed Robert, feeling that she had brought it upon herself. But even so, she didn't want to be used as an excuse by Robert.
"Mr. Lavien, please let go of me!" Harper tried hard to pull her hand away.
However, no matter how hard she tried, Robert wouldn't let go.
On the other side, seeing that Robert had already taken Harper, Simon had no choice but to take Julia's hand. Then, with great gentlemanly manners, he said to Julia, "Miss Brown, thank you for not being afraid of power and for choosing to believe in Elizabeth when she was in the most difficult time. You stood by her side. May I invite you to dinner?"
Julia was silent.
In just a second, she was charmed by Simon.
Julia felt like she was a girl with girlish fantasies.
How could she fall for someone so easily?
She used to like Robert, just like most of the female employees in the company. But at this moment, Julia was charmed by Simon's gentlemanly manners and felt a bit enchanted.
She blushed slightly and agreed, "Okay, Mr. Jones."
After speaking, Julia smiled sweetly and said to Elizabeth, "Elizabeth, Mr. Windsor, goodbye."
Elizabeth was silent. Julia, this friend who forgot friends when she saw a handsome guy.
However, Elizabeth was also relieved.
She had some understanding of Simon. Although she didn't like Declan, Simon's character was very upright. He never messed around in relationships. In terms of relationships, Simon was much cleaner than Owen and Robert.
So, if Julia could marry Simon, it would be a good choice.
Elizabeth watched them leave with a smile in her eyes.
"Your two best friends?" Alexander asked.
Elizabeth said, "Not really best friends, just colleagues. They are both very nice to me, especially Harper. She is very good to me."
She hid the fact that Harper had bullied her before, feeling there was no need to mention it.
After all, Harper didn't have much malice, just careless and now pitiful.
Alexander didn't ask more, only saying, "You don't have many friends. You can invite them to our home as guests."
Elizabeth suddenly looked up at Alexander. Did she hear wrong?
Alexander looked calm.
Elizabeth stammered, "Just for this?"
Alexander didn't answer. He looked at the watch on his wrist and said, "I have a meeting at noon. I'm leaving."
Elizabeth was silent.
Until Alexander really left, she watched his car drive away from the window. Then she called Harper and Julia separately.
Their phone numbers were saved with their names. She called Harper first, "Harper, you can come back. My..."
Elizabeth was still not used to referring to Alexander as her husband when talking to others.
She paused and said, "Alexander has already left."
"Okay, I'll come up right away." Harper was just worried about how to get away.
At this moment, she was sitting in Robert's car.
Her wrist was almost broken by Robert's grip, but she couldn't pull it away.
She was so anxious that she was about to cry, "Mr. Lavien, please let me go! I have to go to work. I finally got back to work. Please don't make me lose my job, okay?"
Her tone was somewhat self-deprecating.
She didn't dare to be tough with Robert.
She knew very well how much Robert had hated her before. In this company, she was not well-regarded. In the end, she was driven out without any dignity and then shamelessly came back. So, Harper felt that she had no self-respect in front of anyone.
Just like Julia could directly call Elizabeth by her name.
But Harper never dared.
In her heart, she still felt that Elizabeth and Julia were friends, and they were both doing her a favor.
Since Harper was kicked out by her parents, she had reflected a lot.
She felt she needed to change, to be grateful and to be humble in every way.
So, she didn't dare to be presumptuous with Robert.
"Silly girl, I used to hate you, but now you look silly and cute," Robert said with a smile as he watched Harper struggle.
