Chapter 99 I Want Alexander's Wedding Venue

The box was empty.

Elizabeth had totally tricked her!

Clara slammed the jewelry box down on the table.

A waiter came over and said, "Miss, please don't cause trouble in our store!"

Clara pulled out five hundred bucks and tossed it on the table. "Here, take this extra tip. Happy now?"

She grabbed her bag and turned to leave.

The waiter muttered, "Do you think your money makes you better than everyone? With that attitude, no man will ever marry you."

Clara spun around, glaring at the waiter. "You poor thing! Listen up, I'm getting married today. Do you even know who my husband is? He could make you disappear!"

The waiter started trembling.

Clara sneered, "My husband is the most powerful man in all of Sunwillow City, Alexander! Ever heard of him? We're getting married today! Jealous much? Let all the women in Sunwillow City be jealous of me. From now on, I am Mrs. Windsor!"

Clara strutted out of the coffee shop.

The waiter spat on the ground in anger. "I hope your wedding crashes and burns today!"

Clara didn't hear the curse. She was already outside, looking around anxiously.

Where could Elizabeth have gone in just two minutes? She wouldn't have done something crazy like getting into a car accident, would she? What a letdown!

Clara had two secrets to tell Elizabeth, but she hadn't had the chance to spill the second one before Elizabeth took off.

Did Elizabeth go back to her apartment?

Clara wanted to follow her to the slums to see if Elizabeth was there, but she didn't have time. She had to rush back to get her makeup done, to become the most dazzling bride in all of Aldoria.

Clara drove off in her sports car, still feeling unsatisfied.

Meanwhile, a despondent Elizabeth wandered through the alley, her mind replaying Clara's recent words.

The child in her belly was Alexander's.

It was actually Alexander's?

She finally got why the Guise family had been tormenting her. They were scared she'd mess things up with Alexander, as she was the woman who had saved his life that night and was carrying his child.

Elizabeth also finally understood why Alexander always treated Clara with such cold indifference, yet insisted on marrying her.

Alexander mistakenly believed that Clara had not only saved his life but was also carrying his child.

Elizabeth remembered the first time she saw Alexander after getting out of prison and hearing his voice. She had thought it sounded like the man she had made love with, who she believed had died.

But later, when she heard Alexander's voice again, she thought it didn't match because the Alexander she knew had a deep, cold, and intimidating voice. The man from that night had a lazy, hoarse voice.

Now, thinking back, Elizabeth realized that Alexander and that man were actually the same person!

She also remembered the first time she stayed at Alexander's place. She had come out wearing a large bathrobe and accidentally fell into Alexander's arms. At that moment, she had a strong feeling that Alexander was that man.

Back then, Elizabeth thought she was just overthinking and that she had developed inappropriate feelings for Alexander.

Now, she realized her gut feeling was spot on.

Alexander was the man from that night.

Elizabeth laughed excitedly, looking up at the sky. She murmured to herself, "The father of my child is still alive? And it's Alexander? God, how did you know I liked him? Are you helping me? Will my child have a father now? My child won't be born unacknowledged and rejected like his father, right? Alexander will definitely acknowledge me and my child, right?"

Elizabeth stumbled towards her rental house.

She ran, looking up, laughing and crying, talking to herself.

People along the way laughed at her.

"Look, it's her, the woman who wants to marry into a wealthy family. Did you see that video of her caught between two men? It seems to have disappeared now, all deleted."

"How can she still live in this slum if she's involved with two wealthy heirs?"

"Does she really think she can marry into a wealthy family? Does she think those rich people are blind? The parents of those billionaires aren't that stupid!"

"She's just delusional! She thought posting a video online would make her famous? Too bad the video was wiped clean after just one night."

"There's no way the upper class would let such a scandal about their heirs get out."

"She was just a laughingstock for the upper class."

"Pathetic!"

"Serves her right!"

Neighbors said all sorts of things when they saw Elizabeth, but she didn't hear any of it. She was hurrying, her steps unsteady, towards her rental house.

Her phone was broken.

She couldn't contact Alexander, Owen, Samuel, or anyone else. But she vaguely remembered that Simon had given her a contact number yesterday afternoon, telling her to reach out if she needed help.

She had angrily thrown it away at the time.

But she had met Clara early in the morning, so the trash hadn't been taken out. She needed to find it.

When she got back to her apartment, she saw her packed luggage, two cheap plastic bags, placed outside.

The landlord was also outside, seemingly waiting for Elizabeth.

"Elizabeth, didn't you say you were moving out today? My new tenant is here. Why haven't you left? You're really affecting my ability to rent out this place!" The landlord's tone was very unfriendly.

"Sorry, it's my fault. I'll leave right away." Elizabeth had agreed with the landlord to move out last night and stay at a budget hotel for the night.

It was her own fault for not keeping her word.

She couldn't blame the landlord.

Elizabeth smiled at the landlord and quickly went to the trash can to search. When she found that thin piece of paper, she held it like a priceless treasure.

Then she got up, dragging her two large plastic bags, and left without looking back.

At a phone booth outside the alley, Elizabeth called Simon's phone and said, "Hello, Mr. Jones?"

Simon was pleasantly surprised and asked, "Elizabeth, have you made up your mind?"

"Mr. Jones, can you tell me where Alexander's wedding is?" Elizabeth asked.
