Chapter 300 Alexander, You're Getting Old
Robert dismissed it lightly, "Just taking a few photos; I'm not afraid of Mr. Windsor."
Simon snapped at Robert, "You're not afraid, but I am! Elizabeth is also afraid! I don't want Mr. Windsor to have any more misunderstandings about her, so her life can be a bit easier! Stop it; don't take any more photos!"
Robert shrugged, saying, "I've already secretly taken several sets of photos before you stopped me. Simon, you're too upright."
Simon remained silent.
While taking photos, Robert muttered to himself, "All three girls are quite pretty. How did I not notice before? Simon, I think people are really strange. You become like the people you hang out with. Before, every time I came here, Harper made me sick. She was so backward and ugly, yet she claimed to be rich. She was really a foolish person. But now when Harper is with Elizabeth, she becomes prettier and cuter."
Simon sneered, "That's because you're looking at her with preconceived notions. Harper may be a bit rustic, a bit silly, and a bit arrogant, but her features have always been good. I noticed that a long time ago."
Robert punched Simon lightly, teasing, "Simon, so you are interested in beautiful women too!"
Simon sneered again, "I also know that the girl between Harper and Elizabeth is very pretty! Even prettier than Harper!"
Robert agreed, "Yeah, I see that now too. But that girl didn't shock me as much as Harper did. You know, I used to hate Harper so much. Why do I now feel a bit sorry for her, like she's a cute girl? She seems to have lost some weight these past few days. I kicked her out of the company, and for a girl from a common family, if she doesn't have a job, won't she starve?"
He continued, "Could it be that after I kicked her out, she had no income and thus no food? She is quite pitiful. Why do I suddenly feel that when she acts coy and cries, she looks quite adorable?"
Simon snapped at Robert, "You only think it's good because you can't have it."
Robert said, "Say what you want; I'll talk to HR tomorrow. Since Harper and Elizabeth have made up, let her come back to work."
Simon remained silent.
Before he could react, Robert was already getting up to leave, saying, "Simon, you pay the bill."
Simon asked, "Why should I pay! We should split it!"
Robert didn't look back, saying, "You were the one who asked me to come, check on Elizabeth's situation, and see if she's happy! Now that we've seen it, you tell me to split the bill? Simon, I think you want me to tell Mr. Windsor about you spying on Elizabeth, right?"
Simon remained silent, left speechless by Robert's retort.
After a while, he shouted from behind, "Where are you going!"
Robert replied, "Go to the Windsor Group, and tell on you to Mr. Windsor."
With that, Robert walked out of the buffet restaurant.
Once outside, he drove straight to the Windsor Group.
He had a confidential document to deliver to Alexander, a document given to him by Gideon to pass on to Alexander. Robert understood Gideon's intention; Gideon wanted Robert to earn some favor with Alexander to save his own life.
Driving all the way, Robert arrived at the Windsor Group building in half an hour.
He looked up at the towering building, a landmark in Sunwillow City.
Six years ago, before Alexander acquired this building, no one expected an obscure, exiled illegitimate child to turn the world upside down overnight.
Six years later, the once exiled and suffering illegitimate child Alexander had multiplied the Windsor Group's assets several times over. Today, the Windsor Group was not only the most powerful in Sunwillow City but also the most powerful in the country.
Today, Alexander was so wealthy that his assets could buy several islands. One of those islands was a whopping 320,000 acres.
The island wasn't very developed; but it had indigenous people, cities, industries, agriculture, and its own rulers.
But the more it was like this, the more it fueled Alexander's desire for conquest.
Recently, he had been planning this.
And the document Robert was delivering to him today was related to this plan. Gideon was worried about leaks, so Robert was the best choice to deliver it.
Arriving at the top floor of the Windsor Group building, the flamboyantly dressed Robert flirted with the receptionist, "Darling, could you please call Mr. Windsor for me?"
The receptionist, seeing a handsome and sweet-talking guy, was almost swooning.
She immediately said sweetly, "Please wait a moment. I'll call right away."
With that, she quickly called Alexander's assistant.
The response was swift.
The receptionist, blushing, looked at Robert.
She smiled shyly, "Mr. Lavien, Mr. Windsor will see you now."
Robert immediately blew a whistle at the receptionist and then leisurely walked into Alexander's office.
He knocked on the door.
"Come in!" Alexander said in a calm tone.
Robert entered and called out, "Mr. Windsor."
"If you flirt with any of the Windsor Group's female employees again, I won't hesitate to throw you off this eighteen-story building!" Alexander said coldly without looking up.
"Alexander," Robert called, gently handing the document to Alexander.
Alexander still didn't look at Robert, saying, "Just delivering this document to me doesn't mean you can flirt with my employees!"
"Alexander, you're getting old," Robert said.
Alexander remained silent.
He finally looked up, his gaze calm as he looked at Robert.
The calm Alexander made Robert nervous.
To be honest, like everyone else, he was still very afraid of this murderous Alexander.
However, Robert mustered up his courage and took out his phone, placing it in front of Alexander and saying, "Alexander, don't get mad. You're already thirty-five, right? You are getting old, and you can't always keep a stern face when dating a twenty-year-old girl."
Halfway through his sentence, Robert pushed the phone closer to Alexander, saying, "Take a look at this."
Alexander, swayed by Robert, indeed put down the document he was signing and looked at the content on Robert's phone. At first, he glanced casually.
But after one look, his eyes instantly froze.
