Chapter 372 I Am Elizabeth's Husband

Gage sneered. "You actually know someone here? I heard from Remy that you just came from out of town. Who are you calling out to?"

As he spoke, Gage stepped forward and grabbed Elizabeth's hair.

However, Elizabeth reacted quickly. She grabbed Gage's leg and bit down hard on his calf.

"You bitch! Let go of me! Remy! Help me!"

But before Gage could finish his sentence, he was kicked hard, sending him crashing into a wall fifteen feet away. He hit the wall with a thud and fell to the ground, only to be stepped on before he could react.

Gage looked up and screamed in confusion, "Mr. Brown?"

Gavin's expression was murderous, and he didn't say a word.

On the other side, Remy was still in a daze. She looked at the man who had just been surrounded and saw that he was now holding Elizabeth in his arms.

"I'm sorry! I'm late," Alexander repeatedly apologized. He whispered in Elizabeth's ear, so softly that only she could hear.

Alexander was truly frightened. After talking to Elizabeth yesterday, he had trouble sleeping. He kept worrying that something might happen to Elizabeth on her way back alone. But there were no flights at night, so he couldn't fly over. At four in the morning, Alexander got up, took Alice, and rushed to the airport. He took the earliest flight at 5:40 AM to get here. At eight in the morning, the plane landed on time in the city.

Alice hadn't slept on the plane and only started sleeping after they landed, so Alexander carried the sleeping Alice and rushed to this small town.

As Gavin drove quickly, he looked at the sleeping Alice and couldn't help but remind Alexander, "Mr. Windsor, Miss Windsor is sleeping so soundly. Can't we..."

"No!" Alexander said firmly, "Gavin, speed up!"

"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin sped all the way here.

By the time they reached the small town, it was already 9:30.

Gavin didn't want to alert some of the local subordinates, but at this critical moment, he had no choice but to call the person in charge here. As a small-town figure, it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see Alexander in person. Even seeing Gavin was rare. So, when Gavin's subordinates here heard that Alexander was coming personally, they were all shocked. They immediately reported the events happening in the town today. "It seems Remy captured a girl who just returned from out of town. I heard that girl is Remy's cousin. Remy is really ruthless!"

Alexander and Gavin exchanged a glance, both silently agreeing that the girl Remy had captured must be Elizabeth. They didn't waste a minute and rushed here. Fortunately, they arrived just in time.

At this moment, Alexander held Elizabeth tightly in his arms.

"Alexander," Elizabeth cried.

Elizabeth rarely cried, but when she fell into Alexander's arms, she couldn't hold back her tears. "Alexander, I thought I would never see you or our daughter again. Am I still alive?"

"Yes," Alexander said.

"This isn't a dream?" Elizabeth asked again.

"No."

"How did you find me? Did you see the distress signal I sent you?" Elizabeth asked again.

Alexander shook his head. He just thought that she had called him repeatedly last night, and Alexander assumed Elizabeth's phone had died.

"If you didn't receive my distress signal, how did you come?" Elizabeth asked.

"Just a gut feeling. I was worried about you," Alexander said.

"Alexander." She buried her head in his chest.

Behind them, Remy was still in a daze and asked, "What's going on? Who are you people? How dare you cause trouble on my turf! Do you even know who I am?"

Remy had never seen Alexander in person.

Even though she had seen him on TV and Twitter, it was mostly side profiles and not up close, so she didn't recognize Alexander. She saw a stranger taking Elizabeth away and saw Gage getting beaten up. All this happened on her turf, so naturally, Remy wanted to show off her power.

Alexander looked at Remy coldly, his tone icy. "Are you Remy?"

Remy tried to act tough, looking at Alexander. "Of course! I'm a well-known figure in this town! I'm disciplining my cousin; this is a family matter! You, an outsider, better not cause trouble here! Let her go now!"

Elizabeth, nestled in Alexander's arms, found the situation both funny and ironic.

Alexander, however, looked at Remy calmly, "Did you take her family's relocation compensation? Did you sign on her behalf?"

"Yes. So what?! Who are you to her? One of her lovers? You're quite loyal, coming all the way here for a bitch. What can you do for her? On my turf, you'll leave here with your tail between your legs. Your guy hit Gage, and you're done for today!"

As soon as she finished, Alexander kicked her hard in the chest, causing a seven-inch gash.

In the six years since he took over the Windsor Group, he hadn't hurt anyone. If there was any killing involved, it was his subordinates' doing. But he had laid hands on a woman now.

Those who knew Alexander well knew that the soles of his shoes concealed sharp blades capable of cutting through bones instantly.

Remy wailed, looking at her bleeding chest, and asked weakly, "Who are you?"

Alexander said expressionlessly, "Elizabeth's husband."
