Chapter 161 Remarrying at City Hall

Elizabeth also thought that it was unlikely Alexander would agree with her, laughing at herself, "I was just saying."

Architecture was her greatest passion and her livelihood; she wasn't just saying it.

But if he didn't agree, it wouldn't matter what she said.

Alexander didn't even look at her, getting up and going to the playroom. Elizabeth stood outside the playroom watching.

Alice was playing inside a block house.

"Do you know the password to get in?" Alice asked Alexander.

Alexander replied seriously, "I don't know. Can you tell me?"

Alice said seriously, too, "The password is 3512788."

Alexander repeated it.

Alice proudly said, "Correct answer, come in!"

Alexander carefully crawled inside.

Elizabeth stood outside, stunned.

Was this really the same Alexander who was always busy and ruthless?

At this moment, he was half-bent, trying to crawl into the small block house. But with his height and long legs, he only got halfway in before the block house collapsed.

"Daddy, you're bad!" Alice said angrily, crawling out of the collapsed block house, pinched Alexander's nose, and shook it. "Daddy's bad! You ruined my block house."

"Sorry," Alexander, sitting on the floor, gently coaxed Alice, "I will build it again for you, okay? I will build a block house that's more beautiful than the one you built."

As he spoke, he really started building.

"Alice! Get me a red block!" Alexander said.

"Here!" Alice answered,  immediately handing it over.

"Now get me a pink one," Alexander asked.

"Here, Daddy!" Alice said.

"Okay, now get me a window. It's time to install the window." Alexander asked again.

"Daddy, you're wrong! You need to build up that wall first so it won't fall down!" Alice reminded Alexander impatiently.

"Right, I'm not as smart as you. Don't give me the window yet. Give me the other wall first." Alexander smiled at Alice.

Alice was very happy, saying, "This is so fun."

She lay in front of Alexander, tilting her head to watch him build the house. Ten minutes later, a new block house was built that was indeed more beautiful than the one from yesterday.

Alice squealed as she crawled into the block house, with Alexander carefully holding the blocks for her.

Elizabeth, standing outside, couldn't help but feel emotional.

Alexander and Alice were indeed father and daughter.

No one would have thought that the fearsome Alexander, who struck terror during the day, would look like a doting, harmless father at this moment with Alice.

Although Alexander had told her to accompany a designated man and earn money to repay him, he hadn't actually done so. To Elizabeth, maybe it was because of Alice?

Because of Alice's presence, he not only stopped pursuing her but also provided her with a place to stay.

Alice really played a big role.

Elizabeth couldn't help but smile bitterly.

But this was good. At least Alice had a father like Alexander, ensuring she would be well-fed and clothed and no longer bullied. Even if Elizabeth died at this moment, she would rest assured.

As long as Alice could live well, it would be the greatest comfort to her.

Lost in these thoughts, she didn't notice when Alexander came out of the playroom. He was on the phone, walking towards his bedroom, then he went in and closed the door.

Leaving Elizabeth outside.

At this moment, Alice also came out of the playroom. Seeing Elizabeth watching her, Alice immediately waved mysteriously at Elizabeth, asking, "Mommy, squat down."

Elizabeth squatting down, Alice whispered in her ear, "Mommy, will you blame me?"

Elizabeth shook her head, saying, "I won't blame you. How could I blame you? If you can have a father who loves you, I will be the happiest. Listen to me, sweetheart, Alexander is your daddy. You two look so much alike."

Alice whispered even more quietly, "Mommy, I can't beat bad daddy. I'm pretending to be close to him. I'm not really."

Elizabeth looked at Alice in surprise whose little eyes twinkled as she said in her childish voice, "Mommy, I will protect you."

A wave of emotion rose from Elizabeth's heart.

She hugged Alice, affectionately saying, "Alice, you are my best treasure. Thank you."

As she finished speaking, she looked up, seeing Alexander coming out of his bedroom again.

Alexander looked calmly at Elizabeth and Alice.

Alice pouted at Alexander, asking, "Was it that old man calling you again? Does he still want me to dig his big nose? He's my defeated opponent!"

Alice was talking about Marcus.

In just one day, Marcus's condition had improved a lot. It was indeed Marcus who had called just now. He had eaten a lot for dinner and was in good spirits. After dinner, he wasn't sleepy, calling Alexander out of boredom.

"Alexander, I know you hate Elizabeth. You can discard her, but Alice must stay in the Windsor family!" Marcus commanded Alexander over the phone.

Alexander didn't say anything on his end.

Marcus continued, "Even though she's a little girl, she's still a descendant of the Windsor family. Our Windsor family children cannot be left outside. Bring Alice to Windsor Manor. Even if you marry Clara in the future, Alice will still be the heir of the Windsor family. We will not let her suffer any unfair treatment."

Hearing this, Alexander briefly said, "Got it." He then hung up, walking out.

Alexander understood Marcus's and Felix's intentions.

The Windsor family had few members now, and Alice was precious to them. Especially with Alice's fearless and mischievous nature, she was even more endearing.

Alexander looked at Alice, her cute eyes meeting his.

He then looked at Elizabeth, whose eyes were filled with cold vigilance. Seeing her like this made him a bit angry.

They had already been intimate, so what was the point of she being so guarded?

"Get up early tomorrow. You're coming with me to drop Alice off at preschool," Alexander suddenly said.

Elizabeth was a bit puzzled but didn't ask why, only saying, "After dropping Alice off, how do I get back?"

"After that, we'll go to City Hall to remarry," Alexander said.
