Chapter 342 Like Sitting on Pins and Needles

Seeing Alexander coming from behind, Alice was initially stunned, then ran up to him and hugged his leg tightly.

"Daddy, if you let the guests at the house bully Mommy, I'll call you Bad Daddy! I won't play with you anymore!"

Alexander remained silent.

When Elizabeth bullied Alexander, Alice was all for it.

Now, just because a guest from Alexander's family might have bullied Elizabeth, Alice was blaming her dad for it.

How unfair is that!

Just as Alexander was about to say something, Alice mysteriously said to him, "Alexander, let me tell you, my mom has found some helpers today. If you don't agree, her helpers won't be nice to you!"

Alice dared to call her father by his first name when threatening him.

Alexander was stunned by her reprimand.

He couldn't help but laugh and said, "So, according to you, Daddy has to obey your orders, right?"

"Yes, Daddy!" Alice said, like a little adult.

Alexander looked at Elizabeth, who gave him a trusting smile.

He raised his eyebrows and said, "Alright! Daddy will listen to you and make sure no one bullies your mom!"

With that, he walked up to Elizabeth and said, "Let's go in."

Elizabeth asked, "Just the three of us?"

"What else did you think? I would love for it to be the four of us, but you're not that fast," Alexander joked with a straight face, as if discussing something very serious.

Elizabeth even suspected he was serious about it.

Blushing instantly, she awkwardly asked, "Didn't you come to the old house earlier? Why are you coming from outside?"

Alexander remained silent.

How could he tell her that he had been urging the store several times to get a pair of crystal shoes that matched her minimalist dress? The store had only told him half an hour ago that the shoes would be delivered in about ten minutes.

He had gone out to meet the delivery person.

But when he got to the agreed delivery spot, he was told the car had broken down and that it would take another half hour to deliver. So, he came back.

And then he saw Alice insisting that he should take her inside.

"Let's go in!" Alexander was determined to give Elizabeth a surprise, so he didn't mention the crystal shoes.

Elizabeth looked back at Julia and Harper.

Robert immediately said, "I'll take care of Harper, and Simon is still with Declan. But Julia..."

"It's okay; I can go in by myself," Julia said, feeling a bit awkward.

"Gavin! Accompany Julia," Alexander ordered.

"Yes, Mr. Windsor!" Gavin responded immediately.

So, they walked ahead.

Elizabeth, Alexander, and Alice walked at the back, slowly entering The Windsor Manor.

At this moment, the hall of The Windsor Manor was bustling with activity.

At the head of the hall sat Declan.

At this moment, he was still plotting with Marcus and the Felix couple, on how to deal with Elizabeth.

Sitting below Declan was Clara, dressed in a high-end evening gown and adorned with jewels.

Clara was chatting with Elodie.

"Elodie, my grandpa is going to personally introduce you to Robert Lavien. Aren't you excited?" Clara spoke to Elodie in a condescending tone.

Elodie immediately replied, "Yes, I'm excited."

"I believe in you; keep it up!"

"But I..."

"No buts, trust in my grandpa's power!" Clara said arrogantly to Elodie.

Elodie nodded.

"Do you like my dress?" Clara asked Elodie from her high perch.

Elodie's dress was also luxurious, but compared to Clara's, it was worlds apart.

Yet Clara still asked her if it looked good.

Elodie could only muster the courage to say, "It's very beautiful, Clara. You outshine all the women here tonight. There's no one who can compare to you."

Clara immediately smiled with satisfaction, "You know, Alexander personally picked and customized this dress for me at 'Chanel.' It's the only one in Sunwillow City. And it costs nearly two million dollars. Even if I did nothing, just selling this dress would ensure I live comfortably. Although your dress is beautiful on its own, compared to mine, it looks quite shabby. Alexander really spoils me."

Elodie remained silent, feeling like she was sitting on pins and needles.

Up until now, she still didn't know what to do, wanting to say something to Declan, to ask if Robert would still be her date tonight, but she never got the chance. All she could do was sit there, serving as Clara's foil.

However, Clara did look stunning tonight.

Her outfit, adorned with jewels, really made Elodie look dull in comparison.

Indeed, there was no second dress like it in all of Sunwillow City.

Even if Clara didn't flaunt it herself, Elodie could tell that her dress was definitely custom-made by Alexander. No one else had the means or the audacity to be so ostentatious.

It seemed Alexander still valued Clara highly.

So, Elodie had to curry favor with Clara.

Wherever Clara went with her wine glass, Elodie followed.

From time to time, Clara would command Elodie in a disdainful tone, "Elodie, hold up my train so it doesn't get dirty."

Clara's train was indeed too long and a bit unsuitable for her.

"Yes, Clara." Elodie respectfully bent down to hold up Clara's train.

Elodie, bending over and following Clara's every command, looked like a dog.

Just like Elodie had called Harper a dog.

With Elodie holding up her train, Clara became even more arrogant.

Every time she approached a wealthy lady, she would boast, "This dress was custom-made for me by my fiancé, Alexander, at 'Chanel.' It costs nearly two million dollars, and it's the only one in Sunwillow City."

"Yes, nearly two million dollars."

"My fiancé custom-made it for me."

"The only one in Sunwillow City. Isn't my fiancé good to me?"

"He may seem cold, like the Grim Reaper, but he's really good to me."

At this moment, someone kindly reminded Clara, "Miss Guise, look at the door. Is that your fiancé and his wife?"
