Chapter 39 The First Independent Design
Clara clenched her fists secretly, her nails digging into her flesh, yet she still looked at Alexander with shy humility, and said, "Alexander, you took my virginity. I've always believed that you are the only I long for. It doesn't matter if you don't want to marry me. I don't expect anything else; I just want to see you every day."
Alexander suppressed his disgust.
He had reached his limit with Clara. If shehadn't saved his life by sacrificing her virginity. He would have kicked her to death by now.
"Alexander..." Clara tried to push her luck by calling out to him again.
However, Clara hadn't finished her sentence when Alexander grabbed her neck, and spoke impatiently, "I said I would marry you, and I will marry you! In the future, you will be the wife of the man with the highest authority in the Windsor Group. What more do you want? Right now, I need to take care of my mother and I don't have time to consider your feelings! If you ever disturb me again, I won't hesitate to get rid of you!"
Clara was silent.
She was so terrified that her face turned pale, tears streaming down, and she nodded frantically. She promised, "I understand. I won't do it again."
"Get out!" He roared as he flung Clara away.
Clara ran away as if escaping, crying all the way back to the Guise Mansion.
Inside the Guise Mansion, Oliver and Lila were waiting for her. Seeing Clara push the door open, Lila couldn't wait to ask, "Clara, how did it go this time with Mr. Windsor?..."
Just by seeing Clara's tear-streaked face, Lila understood everything.
Oliver also looked at Clara in horror. "You got kicked out by Mr. Windsor again?" he asked.
"Dad, Mom! What should I do? I feel like our whole family is in grave danger. Alexander doesn't even look at me. I feel like all his thoughts are on Elizabeth, and now Elizabeth is pregnant with his child. If he finds out one day, our whole family will really be done for. Mom, Dad, I'm so scared," Clara cried in Lila's arms.
The Guise family was also at a loss.
Elizabeth was like a ticking time bomb hanging over the Guise family, ready to blow them to pieces at any moment.
They had to come up with a plan quickly.
Lila looked at Oliver, angrily asking, "Oliver! What's the update on that private detective you hired? Hasn't he found her yet?"
Oliver sighed. "It's only been a few days, how could it happen so fast? Finding that woman is a devastating blow to Elizabeth. Before we find her, we need to ensure Mr. Windsor accepts Clara. Once Clara establishes a genuine sexual relationship with Mr. Windsor and becomes pregnant with his child, everything will be easier!"
Clara cried even harder, whining, "I don't know what kind of magic Elizabeth used! She made Alexander wrapped around her finger! He keeps on protecting her"
"Protect her?" Lila sneered, "Last time we nearly killed her, Alexander knew it was you, but didn't he still protect you? Listen to me, Clara, Mr. Windsor still cares about you. The reason he protects Elizabeth is that his mother needs her. Last time you hurt Elizabeth, which made Mr. Windsor have a bad impression of you, but this time..."
Lila, afraid there might be a spy in the house, beckoned Oliver and Clara to come closer.
After a round of plotting, Oliver and Clara both exchanged smug smiles.
Especially Clara, who sneered coldly, "Elizabeth! I refuse to believe I can't get rid of you!"
On the other side, Elizabeth was not relaxing at all.
Being in this vortex, she naturally knew the Guise family wouldn't let her go. She also knew that Owen's kindness to her was just charity, and she knew that the reason Alexander kept her here despite knowing she was pregnant was all for his mother.
And she herself was just the most helpless woman in this circle.
The only thing she could rely on was to be extremely cautious.
After entering Alexander's residence, Elizabeth went straight to her bedroom and didn't come out even though she was very hungry.
Until it turned eleven o'clock late that evening, Elizabeth assumed that Alexander and Clara wouldn't be in the living room anymore. She came out with a basin, intending to get some hot water to wash up, only to see Alexander sitting alone in the living room.
Elizabeth walked up to Alexander and calmly said, "Mr. Windsor, you don't have to keep Clara away because of me. I'll try not to come out of my room to avoid interrupting you."
Alexander gave Elizabeth a cold look.
Elizabeth had already turned around and walked away with the basin.
That night, Elizabeth didn't sleep well. Based on her understanding of the Guise family and Clara's temperament, she knew they would try to blame her for Alexander refusing Clara's request to stay.
The next morning, Elizabeth looked a bit tired, but she still insisted on going to work. The whole morning was just like yesterday, with Elizabeth being called to do tasks by other colleagues in the department, leaving her no free time.
Until almost noon, Elizabeth was called into the office by Sawyer, who asked her, "The drawings you showed me when you first applied, did you draw them yourself?"
Elizabeth nodded as she replied, "Yes."
Sawyer threw a stack of documents at her. He spoke sternly, "These are the new assignments. Take a look and give me a preliminary draft. This is the first design project you're handling alone. You're new and don't have a degree. If I let you take charge so quickly, the other colleagues in the department will definitely be unhappy. You..."
Elizabeth was already very excited and grateful.
She didn't wait for Sawyer to finish and promised, "Don't worry, I won't let the other colleagues know. I'll work on this draft at home. When I achieve results and my draft is actually used, I'll let the colleagues know. I will work hard."
Sawyer was very satisfied with her promise and said condescendingly, "Good, go back to work."
Elizabeth felt like she had won a prize and was in a great mood.
At that moment, her phone rang. She picked it up and saw it was the owner of the rental center from yesterday. Without thinking, Elizabeth answered, "Sir, I'll be at your place in half an hour!"
With that, she hung up.
She knew the owner was urging her to return the camera and pay the rental fee because she had agreed to rent it for just one day, but now it was four days late. Of course, he would hound her for it.
She finally had the money Owen lent her yesterday, which was enough to return the camera and pay the rental fee.
Taking advantage of her lunch break, Elizabeth hurried to the rental center. As soon as she walked in, she saw two people.
"It's you?" the woman across from her sneered.
