Chapter 324 Luxury Car as Practice Toy
In an instant, Harper couldn't see who was coming. Just as she was about to get slapped, the hand stopped in mid-air.
It was Elizabeth who raised her hand to grab the arm that was about to hit Harper.
"Elodie! You have no right to hit Harper!" Elizabeth forcefully pushed Elodie's arm away and looked at her coldly.
At this moment, Harper finally saw that the person who was scolding and hitting her was her cousin Elodie.
In just three weeks without seeing Elodie, she had become so thin that she was almost skeletal.
However, her clothes and accessories were still glamorous and stylish.
Although her bank card was frozen and she could no longer enjoy the luxuries of The Jones Mansion, the high-end fashion she had accumulated over the years could still fill an entire house.
So, for the time being, Elodie's attire still reflected a life of luxury.
But at this moment, her face was as thin as a ghost.
She had dark circles under her eyes that were filled with malicious fire.
Yet, Elodie spoke to Elizabeth in a restrained tone, "Mrs. Windsor! I know you are now Alexander's wife and have supreme power, but please understand one thing! Harper is my cousin, and she is part of the Williams Family. She has gone astray, following bad influences from outside. I am disciplining her, and that shouldn't concern you."
Elodie was still the articulate and scheming woman she always was.
After speaking, she looked at Elizabeth coldly, showing no fear.
She had nothing left.
She couldn't return to The Jones Mansion, and Owen didn't want her. She was destined to stay with the poor Williams Family for the rest of her life and might never get married.
Even if she did, it would be to an ordinary citizen. What meaning would her life have then?
Back in Sunwillow City, she was once the most prestigious socialite in the elite circles.
But now, she couldn't even get into those circles.
On the contrary, those elite circles were trying hard to get Elizabeth in, but Elizabeth refused to go.
What a disparity!
Thinking of this, Elodie wanted to die!
Since she wasn't afraid of death and living was so humiliating, why should she fear Elizabeth?
Moreover, she wasn't causing trouble for Elizabeth; she was disciplining Harper.
However, Elodie didn't expect Elizabeth to respond so bluntly, "It's right for you to discipline your sister, and even if you were so angry that you hit her, it would be understandable. But! Elodie, you seem to have lost your mind! Harper is not your biological sister; she doesn't share the same mother or father with you."
Elodie was silent.
For a moment, she couldn't find the right words to counter Elizabeth.
Elizabeth, however, didn't plan to let her off, saying, "Not only that, as far as I know, you seem to have taken over Harper's parents, and her home! You, not born to Harper's parents, are eating and drinking in her home without any effort, and even incited your uncle and aunt to drive Harper away!"
She added, "You also incited them to come to the company and beat Harper, and they wanted to take all the hard-earned money Harper made to buy you beautiful clothes. Elodie, do you know what this is called? Robbery! You are so overbearing, and you even have the nerve to come to the company entrance to beat Harper! Do you know that hitting someone in public can land you in jail?"
"No!" Being scolded by Elizabeth, Harper was suddenly startled and blurted out, "I didn't take over her parents; I was originally..."
Elodie stopped mid-sentence, then turned and ran away quickly.
No one could understand what Elodie meant because Elizabeth and Julia were only concerned about Harper.
Elizabeth looked at Harper, asking, "Are you okay, Harper?"
Harper shook her head, saying, "I'm fine; thank you, Elizabeth."
Elizabeth playfully hit Harper, saying, "I don't know where your previously domineering temper went. When you were dealing with me, you weren't this timid. You must still be close to Elodie, not even getting angry at her. I am standing in front of you, offending her for you."
Elizabeth was just joking.
She had no fondness for Elodie.
At this moment, if Elizabeth saw Elodie bullying anyone, she would step in to help.
Harper nodded, still feeling attached to that family and not hating Elodie, saying, "I don't even know what to say. My parents love Elodie so much. I just hope they can calm down soon and let me go home."
After speaking, Harper's expression darkened again.
Julia, standing by, couldn't help but sigh, "Are there really parents like yours in the world? I don't oppose them loving their niece, but they can't neglect their own daughter because of their love for Elodie, right? What strange parents."
Harper smiled bitterly, "Yes, my parents have always valued Elodie since childhood, saying she is noble and that she will marry the most prestigious man in Sunwillow City in the future. They told me to learn from her. Now that her bank card is frozen, she doesn't even have a job and can't cook for herself, but my parents don't dislike her. Instead, they dislike me more and more."
"Harper, work hard and marry Mr. Lavien! If you become Robert's wife, let's see who dares to look down on you!" Julia originally meant it as a joke.
However, as soon as she finished speaking, they heard a car honking behind them. "Who wants to marry me? Is it my Harper? Harper, get in the car. I'll take you to get a dress right now. I promise the dress I get for you will make you the most beautiful woman at the event, except for Elizabeth."
Harper was silent.
Julia quickly pushed Harper, saying, "Go on; go on! Harper! You fool!"
Harper was still standing there dumbfounded, stammering, "Mr. Lavien. After trying on the dress, you must take me to Julia's house. If you don't take me back, I won't go to try on the dress."
Although Harper was kicked out of her home and scolded terribly by her parents and Elodie, she was becoming more and more self-respecting.
In the car, Robert laughed, "Don't worry! I'll definitely take you to Julia's house. Get in the car!"
Only then did Harper get into the car with Robert.
Behind Robert's car was Simon's car. Sitting inside, Simon watched Harper's back, suddenly deep in thought. Then he took out his phone and dialed a number, "Mom."
