Chapter 371 Arriving at the Critical Moment

Elizabeth shouted immediately, "What are you doing!"

Remy sneered. "You should blame yourself for offending Clara in Sunwillow City. Over the past six years, she has come here looking for you many times. To curry favor with Miss Guise, I spent thousands of dollars each time to entertain her. I can't let that money go to waste, can I? I need to get it back using you!"

Elizabeth retorted, "Kidnapping and holding people against their will, that's a crime!"

Remy laughed arrogantly. "You bitch! On my turf, you talk to me about crime? Do you know how many connections I have here? Killing you would be a piece of cake. But of course, I won't let you die so easily! I need to make a lot of money off you first, then I'll let you die."

Elizabeth asked in confusion, "Remy, how did I offend you?"

Remy snarled. "Don't call me that; I'm not your relative!"

"You're not a Spencer?" Elizabeth asked.

"But you're not my family!" Remy said with extreme resentment and jealousy, "Back then, my parents had good jobs in the city, but we couldn't get a house. Our family lived in a cramped space, the three of us squeezed into a tiny room. My dad told Nico not to get married and to live with us, and that we would take care of him in his old age. My parents promised to take care of him and renovate his old house so we could move in, and I would inherit his house and land. Everything was set until your mom brought you here and married Nico. You bastard! You don't even know who your father is! You're not Nico's daughter, so why do you get to take the house and land that should be mine? Why?!"

Elizabeth fell silent, finally understanding Remy's hatred, fueled by Clara's instigation and Remy's family's resentment over Quiana marrying Nico while pregnant with her.

At this critical moment, Elizabeth didn't want to argue with Remy. She calmly communicated with her, "Remy, I don't want the relocation compensation, and you can have it all. Just let me go."

Remy sneered. "Do you think I'm stupid!"

Elizabeth was speechless. What she had said was the truth.

"If I don't let you go, you won't get the compensation, and I can still make a lot of money off you. To be honest, I've had many prostitutes here, but they look cheap and unkempt. You grew up in a big city, and your demeanor is different from those women. And you're very beautiful. With your quality, I can make a fortune."

Emy laughed maniacally. She hated Elizabeth even more now. Despite being only two years older, Emy's skin looked a decade older. She had expected Elizabeth to return worn and aged after years of hardship, but Elizabeth came back looking unbelievably young and beautiful. How was that possible?

Remy had dropped out of middle school to work, starting as a barmaid and eventually engaging in sexual relationships with men. She didn't even know how many men she had been with, but most of them were old, bald, and pot-bellied.

Remy had sacrificed her youth and beauty to achieve her current business and status.

She had given so much, so she wouldn't let Elizabeth off easily. She wanted Elizabeth to suffer while she made a fortune.

Seeing Remy's hideous smile, Elizabeth felt despair. She could only hope Alexander would come quickly. But she didn't even have her phone; Remy had taken it, and it was probably turned off by now. Elizabeth called out to Alexander in her heart over and over.

Remy locked Elizabeth in a large, windowless room before loosening her grip. Elizabeth screamed, but no one responded.

At that moment, a scar-faced man arrived outside.

"Where is she? Let me check her out first! I don't want just any woman!" the scar-faced man said.

Remy immediately flattered him. "Mr. Bennett, you're the first. I've saved her for you. She looks like a young college student, with a great figure and smooth skin."

"How does she compare to you?" Gage Bennett sneered.

Remy laughed at herself. "I'm old. I can't compare to her. Honestly, she's at least ten times prettier than me."

Gage was immediately interested. "Then I have to see her. If she's pretty, I'll take her tonight!"

"In that case..." Remy dragged out her words.

"I'll approve that project you wanted!" Gage said decisively.

"Thank you, Mr. Bennett. Please, this way." Remy said, leading Gage to Elizabeth's room.

Seeing Elizabeth huddled in the corner, Gage's eyes lit up. "She's top-notch. This is great." He couldn't wait and was about to pounce when his phone rang.

He answered it, and after listening for a while, he was so shocked he almost dropped his phone. "Okay, I'll go pick him up right now!"

Hanging up, Gage hurried out of the room, urgently telling Remy, "I have to go pick up a big shot. Keep that woman for me. Maybe the big shot will be interested in her."

Without waiting for Remy to respond, Gage rushed out.

Upon his return, he humbly followed behind Gage. As he followed, he introduced, "Mr. Windsor, the beautiful woman inside. I guarantee you'll be satisfied. It's an honor to serve you, Mr. Windsor."

Then Gage instructed Remy, "Show Mr. Windsor the way."

Remy immediately led Gage and the man to Elizabeth's room.

When the door opened, Elizabeth croaked. "Don't come near me. If anyone touches me, I'll make them regret it!"

"What's your name?" A familiar voice came from the door.

Elizabeth was suddenly overjoyed, "Alexander."
