Chapter 251 Timely Rescue

Julia stared at Elizabeth in shock, asking, "Elizabeth, is what Miss Lavien said true? Are you the female prisoner that Alexander brought back, the one everyone in Sunwillow City has been talking about for two months?"

Being exposed in front of everyone, Elizabeth felt a stabbing pain in her heart, as if someone had forcibly stripped her naked.

Elizabeth couldn't answer Julia.

Was she supposed to reveal her own scars?

Elizabeth stood there like a wooden figure, her eyes devoid of any light.

The entire office was already in an uproar.

"Oh my God! It's really her!"

"I remember on her first day at work, we were in the elevator talking about that woman, and she was right next to us. She knew we were talking about her, yet she remained so calm. This woman is really scheming!" One of the women who had gossiped about Elizabeth didn't think she was at fault but instead accused Elizabeth of being manipulative.

"If she wasn't manipulative, how could she have seduced Mr. Tudor and other men six years ago? I heard she even had a relationship with a seventy-year-old man and once served over a dozen men in a private room."

"I heard she used to live in the slums, a place known for prostitution."

The entire design department was buzzing with gossip about Elizabeth.

Julia, trying to protect Elizabeth, looked around at everyone.

"I heard from the news that Mr. Windsor brought her back specifically to serve men."

"I saw it with my own eyes!" One of the employees, Ruby, said excitedly. "That day, my boyfriend and I were taking driving lessons, and I saw her in a car with a man in a driving instructor's uniform."

Ruby spoke as if she saw Elizabeth and that man doing something indecent with her own eyes. After speaking, she even provided a photo of Elizabeth's back. It wasn't just her back but clearly a side profile of Elizabeth, while the man in the driving instructor's uniform was only shown from the back.

"Oh my God, she really is a prostitute!"

"A prostitute! No wonder Miss Lavien came to deal with you personally! A female prisoner like you should be cut into pieces and burned to death to prevent spreading STDs to others!"

All around, people were condemning Elizabeth, making her feel weak and limp.

This was just the first step in Molly's plan to torment her.

Being the center of attention, like a monkey being played with and directly insulted, was an unbearable feeling.

It was so unbearable that Elizabeth almost felt numb.

She felt the muscles in her face stiffen. If Harper were to hit her with a shoe now, she wouldn't even feel the pain.

Elizabeth looked numbly at Molly and asked in a dry, calm voice, "Miss Lavien, you see I'm being obedient and not resisting. Can you at least let me die knowing why? Do I offend you because of Robert? I don't believe it. Because of Clara? I don't believe that either! I just want to die knowing why."

Molly was taken aback by the question.

Elizabeth was indeed clever.

Why was Molly treating Elizabeth so cruelly?

It all started with Alexander.

Molly was the first woman to fall for Alexander. Back then, Alexander was a down-and-out young master in exile. Molly was willing to give her heart to Alexander, but he never looked at her. Her pursuit of Alexander was almost obsessive and neurotic, yet Alexander never gave her a second glance. Eventually, her love turned into hatred.

But her love was for Alexander, and her hatred was directed at the women around Alexander.

Six years ago, Molly also hated Clara to the core. She secretly came to Sunwillow City intending to kill Clara, but she heard that Alexander never liked Clara. At that time, Molly discovered that Alexander's mother was dying, so she didn't want to be around him then.

Molly knew Alexander's ruthlessness well, so she quietly returned to Pariz.

Not long after, she heard that Alexander had called off his wedding with Clara.

She was thrilled and excited.

From that moment on, she didn't hate Clara as much.

Later, Clara visited Pariz a few times with Declan. Each time, Molly's father, Marshall Lavien, who was once Declan's subordinate, hosted them. Declan had promoted Marshall many times, so the Lavien Family always treated Declan with great respect. Thus, the unmarried Molly got to know Clara.

Molly didn't think much of Clara, but since Clara was Declan's granddaughter, she maintained contact with her out of courtesy.

Two months ago, when Molly first heard Clara mention that Elizabeth had returned, she felt a sharp pain in her heart. Although her love for Alexander had twisted her mind, her thoughts were deep and vicious. She had long seen that Alexander didn't like Clara at all, but Elizabeth had already had a child with him.

Molly would never let any woman who bore Alexander's child live!

She wanted Elizabeth to die a horrible death!

Moreover, just a week after Alexander brought Elizabeth back, she ruined a major event for Molly's sister, Katherine! Katherine's family had just returned and wanted to join Alexander's business circle, but Elizabeth ruined it, causing Dominic to lose face and destroying Katherine's friend Laura's future.

Thinking of all this, Molly wanted to kill Elizabeth immediately.

She wouldn't be as foolish as Clara and Elodie. If she said she would destroy Elizabeth, she meant it!

"Elizabeth, you won't die just yet. When the time comes, I'll make sure you know exactly why you're dying." With that, Molly ordered Harper, "Harper, smash Elizabeth's face! Do it for Elodie and my dear friend Clara!"

Harper said, "Miss Lavien, I don't dare."

"You cowardly bitch!" Molly cursed. As she spat on Harper's face, Harper didn't dare wipe it off.

"Shall I do it for you?" Linda said with a fawning smile, looking at Molly. For Linda, this was a great opportunity to get close to Molly from the Lavien Family. Besides, Linda hated Elizabeth even more than Harper did.

It was the perfect chance for personal revenge.

Linda snatched the shoe from Harper's hand, a sinister smile on her face as she approached Elizabeth.

Julia exclaimed, "Elizabeth, run!"

Elizabeth didn't move.

Linda raised the broken shoe high, ready to strike Elizabeth's face, but a thunderous shout came from behind, "Stop!"
