Chapter 90 Alexander Visits Elizabeth at Night
There was silence on the other end of the line.
Elizabeth, staying cool, said, "Mr. Windsor, I get what you're trying to say, but I don't feel like explaining. Just tell Owen's mom to keep her son in line."
"Do you really think I can't handle you? Are you asking for trouble?" The voice on the other end wasn't Alexander's; it was an old man's.
Elizabeth asked, "Who are you?"
"Listen up! I could crush you like a bug and control your fate without breaking a sweat!" the old man yelled.
Elizabeth still couldn't place the voice.
Then she heard some noise on the other end and thought she caught Gavin's voice.
"Mr. Marcus Windsor, what are you doing? Mr. Alexander Windsor is in a meeting. How can you use his phone?" Gavin sounded shocked.
Elizabeth suddenly got it.
It was Alexander's grandpa, Marcus.
But why should she care?
She was planning to leave anyway!
Elizabeth hung up without a second thought.
On the other end, Marcus was fuming, and Gavin took the phone from him.
Marcus, leaning on his cane, slammed it on the ground. "Gavin! Find Elizabeth for me! Is she trying to stir up trouble for both the Windsor and Tudor families? I'll bury her alive!"
Gavin stayed quiet.
Nearby, the receptionist nervously said, "Mr. Brown, Mr. Marcus Windsor wants to come in. I couldn't stop him."
The receptionist looked scared.
Since Alexander took over the Windsor Group four months ago, he made a rule: no unauthorized people could enter, not even family.
That included his dad and grandpa.
Because of this, Marcus had never come to the company. He knew Alexander's temper and that Alexander could do anything, so he stayed away.
But today, Marcus was so mad he had his driver bring him to the Windsor Group. Once inside, he barged in. He found out Alexander was in a meeting and that Alexander's phone was in his office. Marcus used Esme's birthday to unlock it.
He managed to get into Alexander's phone.
Then, Marcus called Elizabeth.
But after a few words, Gavin took the phone, and Elizabeth hung up.
Marcus was livid. "Where's Alexander? Get that brat out here!"
The receptionist stayed silent.
Gavin told her, "You can go back to work."
The receptionist, relieved, said, "Thank you, Mr. Brown," and quickly left.
At this moment, Alexander walked over.
The company rarely worked overtime, and Alexander almost never held meetings after hours.
The reason for this emergency meeting was that Alexander had seen short videos and headlines online, all showing Elizabeth caught between Owen and Samuel.
The comments were a mess.
Owen's mom had personally called Alexander for help.
Alexander had to deal with this PR crisis fast, which was why they were meeting.
But Marcus had shown up halfway through.
"Alexander! Find Elizabeth for me. I want to kill her right now!" Marcus shouted.
"That's her place. No matter what tricks Elizabeth pulls, as long as Owen doesn't fall for it, he won't go looking for her there," Alexander said coldly, staring at Marcus.
Marcus stayed quiet.
After a bit, his old face darkened, and he said, "Alexander! I've been around for over eighty years! I've had countless descendants, but in the end, it's just you and Owen left. And both of you are tangled up with that Elizabeth. How can I be at peace? You don't have to hand her over to me. But I've lived long enough to find her in Sunwillow City if I want to. When that happens, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
"Alexander, the reason you're so ruthless, never hesitating, never showing emotions, do you know where you got that from? You got it from the Windsor family! You got it from me!"
With that, Marcus turned to leave.
Alexander stayed silent.
Marcus's harsh words weren't just for show; he could back them up.
"Wait!" Alexander called out.
Marcus turned to look at him.
"If I find her, what are you planning to do with her?" Alexander asked.
Marcus's tone softened. "I know, during your mother's final days, Elizabeth was the one who stayed by her side, comforting and caring for her. As long as she follows my instructions, I won't make things hard for her."
"But if she keeps messing with you and Owen, dragging the Windsor name through the mud, I'll tear her apart!"
"Got it," Alexander said coldly.
"I'll wait for your news," Marcus said and left.
On the other side, Gavin grumbled a bit to Alexander, "Mr. Windsor, the video clearly shows Mr. Tudor and Mr. Bell causing trouble at Miss Spencer's place. This has nothing to do with her!"
Alexander's tone was icy. "Her charm is something else! Her guts too! The video's online, and she doesn't even flinch. This must be what she wanted!"
Gavin stayed quiet. He suddenly wanted to slap himself. He shouldn't have said anything. He forgot that while Alexander was usually calm and ruthless, he lost it whenever he saw Elizabeth with another guy.
"Mr. Windsor." Behind him, the head of the PR department cautiously called out, "We've found the source of the video. How should we handle it?"
"Ban the accounts!" Alexander said.
"But there are tens of thousands of accounts."
"Ban them all!"
"Yes, Mr. Windsor. I'll get on it right away!" The head of the department ran off like he was escaping.
Alexander didn't even go into his office. He just grabbed the phone from Gavin's hand and walked out.
"Mr. Windsor, where are you going?" Gavin called out.
Alexander didn't answer.
Gavin quickly shut Alexander's office door and jogged to catch up. He opened the car door for Alexander, and without a word, drove straight to Elizabeth's place.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth had packed all her stuff in her rented apartment and was about to wash up.
As soon as she opened the door, she saw Alexander's dark and angry face.
"What are you doing here?" Elizabeth was startled.
