Chapter 365 The First Time She Acted Spoiled in Front of Him

In the conference room, Alexander sat at the center of a long oval table, surrounded by thirty trusted subordinates. Beside him, Alice lay fast asleep on a temporary sofa. Elizabeth's call came through during this intense meeting.

Alexander raised his hand to silence the attendees and answered, "Have you found the hotel?"

Elizabeth replied gently, "Yes, I have. It's the biggest hotel in our town. The bed is about the same size as ours, but without you and Alice beside me, I feel so empty."

Elizabeth had always been independent. However, she had not been apart from them for quite some time, and this sudden separation made her feel uneasy. She realized she couldn't be without Alexander.

"Alexander, give me a kiss," she said coquettishly.

At this moment, Elizabeth had no idea that the Guise Family of three, whom she hated the most, had already escaped, nor did she know that Alexander was holding an emergency meeting because of this.

Elizabeth's soft voice traveled through the receiver to Alexander and was clearly heard by the attendees, despite not being on speaker. In the silent night, with everyone afraid to speak, her voice was unmistakably clear.

Noticing Alexander's silence, Elizabeth asked lazily, "What's wrong? Haven't you put Alice to sleep yet?"

Alexander looked at the sleeping Alice beside him and said to Elizabeth, "Don't worry. Alice is already asleep."

"Then why haven't you kissed me? I thought you were embarrassed because Alice was next to you," Elizabeth said with a giggle.

Today, feeling unusually bold and missing Alexander, she teased, "Are you shy? Turn your face to the receiver, and I'll kiss you."

Alexander remained silent, worried she would feel alone in their distant hometown. He let her tease him freely, staying calm and composed while none of the attendees dared to laugh.

On the other end, Elizabeth continued to act coquettishly. "Are you happy, Alexander?" she asked again.

Alexander said softly, "Yes."

"Louder!"

Alexander was helpless.

"If you don't say it, you'll regret it when you get back!" Elizabeth's voice was very arrogant.

Since he wasn't by her side, there wasn't much he could do to her. However, deep down, Elizabeth knew she feared what would happen when she returned to her hometown tomorrow. Feeling uneasy, she could only soothe her anxiety by playfully teasing him over the phone.

"Happy!" Alexander immediately raised his voice.

"Alright, but you have to bring Alice over to me as soon as possible," Elizabeth demanded softly.

"Okay," Alexander replied gently.

After speaking, he glanced at his thirty subordinates, none of whom dared to make a sound. Alexander was known for being decisive and ruthless, yet deeply caring for his wife. Today, they saw it firsthand: whatever Elizabeth asked, Alexander did without hesitation.

"Goodbye, dear," Elizabeth finally said, mainly because she didn't want to disturb his rest.

"Stay safe. When you go from the hotel to your hometown, hire a taxi and tell the driver you'll pay him a thousand dollars a day to wait for you there," Alexander said.

"Got it, dear!" Elizabeth finally hung up.

Alexander felt a pang of concern. Elizabeth was always independent, but he still worried about her returning to a hometown she hadn't visited in fifteen years. However, he had urgent matters to attend to.

Hanging up, he looked calmly at his subordinates. "Continue!"

One of them spoke up, "Mr. Windsor, Oliver's family of three couldn't have escaped so smoothly without Declan's help."

Another nodded. "Declan must have done something."

Then a third person said, "Is Declan trying to help that island and oppose us?"

A fourth person asked, "Mr. Windsor, what do you think?"

Alexander remained silent. When his subordinates asked him, he nodded. "That's right! Declan must have done it; otherwise, they couldn't have escaped."

"Declan must not be spared!" someone suddenly slammed the table.

"Yes!"

"Declan, relying on the help he gave you in the early years, has repeatedly protected his vicious granddaughter Clara. For her, he can do anything now. We can't let this continue like this!" The subordinates had been fighting alongside Alexander for over a decade, some even since Alexander was a teenager. Their bond with Alexander were very deep. So at this moment, they dared to speak up. However, Alexander had his own plans.

"If I punish Declan now, Oliver's family of three on the island will definitely be scared. They will be on edge, and the entire island will be more vigilant against us. At that time, it will be more difficult for me to take down that island," Alexander said slowly.

The subordinates fell silent and thought that he was right.

"Why don't we turn the tables?" one of them suggested.

"Exactly. Let them think they're safe on that island."

For a moment, all the subordinates agreed with this approach.

Alexander finally felt relieved. This was the direction he had planned before the meeting. He couldn't alert the enemy and had to keep his subordinates in check. This way, his plan could be more thorough.

Taking down that island was a must for Alexander.

Since the Guise Family of three had gone to that island for refuge, wouldn't it be better to capture them directly on the island?

"Alright, it's settled! Meeting adjourned!" As soon as Alexander finished speaking, his phone rang again. He picked it up and saw it was an unknown number. He answered immediately, "Hello."
