Chapter 94 Never Apologize
Elizabeth's move to smash the phone left everyone in the hall feeling awkward.
All the rich folks and their spouses just stared at the broken phone on the floor, not sure what to do.
Elizabeth shot them a smug grin. "I've got my ticket back my hometown for the day after tomorrow. I'm outta here and I'm never coming back. If your precious heirs get seduced by some woman in the future, that's not my problem. I hope your heirs never falls for anyone again! Got it, Mr. Marcus Windsor?"
Marcus was fuming.
He had planned for Elizabeth to apologize to each of these high-society people and promise to stay away from their heirs, to never think about them again.
If she did that, Marcus was ready to give her some money as compensation.
After all, Elizabeth had taken good care of Esme in her last two months.
Marcus might be ruthless, but he wasn't heartless.
He was fair.
But he never expected Elizabeth to be so defiant, willing to die rather than apologize.
She'd rather die than say sorry.
Elizabeth made everyone in high society feel embarrassed.
She didn't care about their heirs at all, treating them like garbage.
Marcus, not wanting to push his luck in front of Alexander, played along. "Well said. Everyone here heard you. I hope you stick to your word. Don't make promises and then break them! If you try anything funny in the future, we won't be as forgiving as we are now! You can leave!"
Elizabeth turned and walked out.
She didn't even glance at Alexander.
Gavin, standing nearby, felt bad for Alexander.
Alexander had stayed up all night, not even blinking, to help Elizabeth deal with those videos.
If those videos spread, Elizabeth's reputation would be ruined.
But she didn't show any gratitude towards Alexander, leaving without even looking at him.
Elizabeth didn't look back at anyone, disappearing from Windsor Manor.
She had cried so much, felt so much pain, but she wouldn't let anyone know because, in this world, apart from the late Esme, no one truly cared for her or felt sorry for her.
Elizabeth left.
And Alexander, too, left, taking Clara back to The Guise Mansion.
With Alexander gone, the hall buzzed with chatter again.
People started talking louder.
"This woman is something else!"
"She really knows how to play hard to get! My son wouldn't stand a chance against her tricks."
"Good thing she smashed the phone. I hope she really leaves Sunwillow City and doesn't cause any more trouble here."
"Just a lowly, despicable woman. Does she really think she can stir up trouble in the upper circles of Aldoria? If she doesn't back down on her own, we can take care of her ourselves!"
"We must restrain such a woman tightly, never allowing her another chance to seduce men."
Most of these people had originally thought that Elizabeth would grovel and apologize in a lowly manner.
A lowly woman should crawl and apologize, fitting their image of Elizabeth. However, Elizabeth's refusal to bow down only angered them more.
Even though Elizabeth left without backing down, smashing her phone and cutting off all contact, her reputation in this high society circle was not redeemed. They still labeled her as a despicable woman, a troublemaker who had wreaked havoc in their elite world.
"If she dares to come back, I'll break her arms first!"
"I'll break her legs!"
"If she dares to cause trouble in Sunwillow City again, I'll make her deaf and blind!"
As they were hurling insults at Elizabeth, another figure appeared in the hall.
Declan was the first to recognize the newcomer, "Simon, what are you doing here! Didn't I lock you up? Who let you out?"
Simon looked at Declan angrily and asked, "Grandpa, how could you be part of this! You..."
Simon was so angry he could barely speak. He almost blurted out something but then remembered it was a family matter of the Jones family, so he quickly changed his words and said to Declan, "Grandpa, Elizabeth never came to me on her own, never! It was always me pestering her, and even then, she never paid me any attention. She never did anything to me, yet you're making her apologize to you. Grandpa! You're too much!"
Declan, also furious, glared and said to the people present, "See, you all see this, right? Even now, Simon is defending Elizabeth! It shows that Elizabeth must not be allowed to stay! If she dares to return to Sunwillow City, the Jones family will be the first to eliminate her!"
"Grandpa!" Simon was so angry he was about to burst. He knew he couldn't explain it clearly in front of so many people in the hall. He had originally come to find Elizabeth, but not seeing her there, Simon turned and left.
"Come back! Come back here!" Declan's old and angry voice shouted from behind.
Simon didn't look back.
He was desperate to find Elizabeth.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth had left The Windsor Manor and returned to her rented apartment. She had already packed her things, and her ticket was for the day after tomorrow. With a day and a half left, she didn't want to stay in the apartment anymore.
She didn't want to be harassed by those boring people.
Elizabeth was about to leave, carrying a plastic bag in one hand, when she saw a man standing at the door.
Elizabeth's tone was furious as she spoke, "Mr. Jones, what are you doing here!"
