Chapter 74 You Are in Danger

Gavin felt bad for Elizabeth, but his loyalty was to Alexander, his boss and confidant.

"What did you hear?" Alexander asked, not even glancing at Gavin.

Gavin stayed quiet.

"Speak!"

"It sounded like Mrs. Elizabeth Windsor," Gavin said, then quickly corrected himself, "I mean, something happened to Elizabeth, and Mr. Tudor went to handle it."

Alexander's face was a blank slate, giving nothing away.

"Got it," he said, totally indifferent.

With that, Alexander continued to mourn for Esme.

No one could guess what was going on in Alexander's usually cold and ruthless mind.

Guests kept coming to pay their respects. Declan showed up too. As he got to the door, he whispered angrily to Simon, "Simon, this is ridiculous. Do you even know where you are? Show some respect for the dead! Especially since this is Alexander's mother!"

Declan's voice was low, but Gavin caught it. He had just seen Simon and Owen have a quick argument about Elizabeth.

Gavin couldn't help but worry about Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, Owen left the Windsor family’s mourning hall and drove to the hospital where Wesley was. From a distance, he saw Elizabeth standing alone.

Getting out of the car, Owen walked up to her. Elizabeth grabbed his arm and pleaded, "Mr. Tudor, can you talk to Wesley? I'll pay his medical bills, even double. I agree to a hundred thousand dollars! If it's more than that, I really can't afford it. I'd rather go to jail."

Elizabeth's words were firm, and she looked ready to go to jail.

Owen suddenly sneered, "Elizabeth, you're underestimating me! Since you called me, I'm gonna see this through to the end!"

With that, he put an arm around her and walked towards the hospital.

Elizabeth suddenly felt a bit relieved.

Even though Owen always mocked her, he had saved her multiple times in this city.

In the ward, Wesley was shocked to see Owen with his arm around Elizabeth.

"Mr. Tudor, weren't you mourning Mr. Windsor's mother? Why are you here?" Wesley started sweating.

He wasn't scared of Owen.

Owen was just a rich kid with no real skills. Why should Wesley fear him?

But Wesley was terrified of Alexander.

Everyone knew Alexander had almost wiped out the entire Windsor family. Owen's mom was Alexander's aunt, and the Tudor family had never opposed Alexander. Plus, Marcus had protected them fiercely, so Alexander not only spared Owen's family but also promised Marcus to protect the Tudor family and Owen.

Alexander had personally promised to protect Owen, so how could Wesley dare to mess with him?

"You want a million dollars, right?" Owen asked.

"No, Mr. Tudor," Wesley stammered.

Owen tightened his grip on Elizabeth and said, "Wesley, listen up. Elizabeth is my girl! From today on, if you mess with her even a little, you're messing with me and the Tudor family. In other words, you're messing with the Windsor family and Alexander!"

"No, Mr. Tudor, please, calm down. I was wrong, okay?" Wesley tried to get out of bed in a hurry but ended up touching his wound.

The pain made Wesley clutch his groin, and his legs gave out, making him kneel in front of Elizabeth and Owen.

Owen sneered, "Get up."

Wesley stayed silent.

He watched as Owen, with his arm around Elizabeth, casually walked out of the ward. Only then did Wesley angrily pound the bed.

"Damn it! I used to fear no one!"

None of his bodyguards dared to make a sound.

Wesley had made his fortune through shady deals and knew a lot of people in the underworld. He thought no one in Sunwillow City would dare to oppose him.

But Wesley never expected that one day, Alexander, the Windsor family's illegitimate son who had been exiled and was unknown, would destroy half of his business.

Alexander had a reason for taking over all of Wesley's properties. At that time, Alexander said to him, "Wesley, I left you half of the family estate to make money for me. In five years, I want you to generate five times the profit based on the properties you currently own. At that time, I will take the profits."

Wesley was so angry that he spat out blood.

But he could only swallow his pride. He couldn't outdo Alexander, so he had to endure the humiliation. But now, even Alexander's brother Owen was threatening him!

How could he swallow this?

Picking up his phone, Wesley called Oliver and said, "Oliver! It was your idea to deal with that bitch Elizabeth! Not only did she ruin my reproductive organs, but now I've also offended Owen. You must come up with a foolproof plan!"

On the other end, Oliver was shocked.

That damn Elizabeth!

She was a jinx!

"Don't worry, Wesley. I'll make sure you get justice," Oliver said nervously over the phone.

As soon as he hung up, Lila couldn't wait to ask, "What happened? Did Wesley fail?"

Oliver replied, "That wretch Elizabeth injured Wesley."

Lila was silent.

"What do we do now?" Clara asked Oliver anxiously, "Wesley must be furious with us. After all, it was Mom who introduced Elizabeth to him. If that old bastard Wesley goes crazy, he could do anything."

"You go find Alexander," Oliver said to Clara.

Clara was silent.

Even though she had the child in her belly as leverage, she didn't dare to go.

Alexander was handling Esme's funeral, and all the powerful people in the city were there to pay their respects. But the Guise family wasn't qualified to attend. Clara, as Alexander's future fiancée, and Oliver, as Clara's father, had called Alexander in advance to express their desire to attend, but Alexander had ruthlessly refused.

Oliver was very embarrassed.

And now, he wanted Clara to go. How could Clara dare?

After Oliver whispered a few words in Clara's ear, Clara's fear turned to joy.

That afternoon, dressed in solemn black, Clara arrived alone at Esme's mourning hall. When Alexander saw her, he couldn't help but frown deeply and said impatiently, "Why are you here!"

Clara looked very worried as she said, "I... Alexander, you're in danger. I had to come to tell you."
