Chapter 162 Elizabeth Becoming Mrs. Windsor Again

Elizabeth thought she misheard, asking, "You... what did you say?"

Alexander replied again, "We're getting remarried!"

Remaining silent, Elizabeth said indifferently after a few seconds, "You and I are enemies. You nearly trapped me. You exiled Samuel and claimed I owe you ten million dollars. Now you want to discuss remarriage? Alexander, I don't understand these games you high-society people play, and I don't have the energy to participate. Can you just be straightforward with me about what you want to do?"

Elizabeth's tone carried no trace of anger, just a kind of whisper.

But the meaning behind her words was resolute.

After speaking, she didn't look at Alexander but called out at the toy room door, "Alice, time for a bath and bed."

In this house, both she and Alice had no rights.

Just half an hour ago, Elizabeth and Alexander were both caring for Alice, feeding her, and he was sitting in the toy room building a block house with Alice, looking like a warm family.

But that was just an illusion.

After Alice obediently followed Elizabeth to wash up, then Elizabeth took Alice to the children's room to put her to sleep. With Alice falling asleep, she came out, only to find that Alexander was no longer in the living room or the hallway.

His bedroom door was closed.

Was he already asleep?

Elizabeth didn't want to guess his thoughts that she couldn't figure out anyway, simply going back to the guest room to sleep.

That night, she slept very restlessly with many dreams.

She dreamed again of the absurd scene when she had just gotten out of prison and was taken by Alexander to register their marriage. How could she do such an absurd thing a second time?

If Alexander took her to remarry, what about Clara?

Wouldn't she become Clara's sworn enemy again?

Elizabeth had spent her life in turmoil, dropping out of college to go to prison, and being hunted down three months after getting out. Therefore, she didn't want to be eliminated by Clara next.

Remarry?

No way!

However, Elizabeth's firm decision lasted only one night.

Early the next morning, at six-thirty, Elizabeth was awakened by Alexander's knocking.

After a night of restless thoughts, she had just fallen asleep!

She rubbed her eyes, with her messy hair, coming out in her robe to open the door for Alexander. After all, he had already seen every part of her body.

She wasn't afraid of showing him her most unkempt side.

She looked at Alexander with sleepy eyes, her voice carrying a lazy tone, "I won't remarry you! Marrying you once in this lifetime was bad enough. I won't do it a second time, no matter what your reason is!"

Alexander was instantly furious, grabbing her wrist and saying, "Elizabeth! Listen to me! This time it's for your daughter, and for my daughter! She's my child, and I absolutely won't let her live in an incomplete family! If you don't want Alice to grow up without a mother, you'll obediently come with me to remarry!"

Elizabeth asked in horror, "What do you mean by 'without a mother'?"

Alexander sneered, "You're not stupid; you're smarter than anyone. Why ask me?"

"No!" Elizabeth's voice trembled, "No, you can't do this! I carried Alice for ten months, raising her for five years. You didn't fulfill any obligations during that time, and now you want to take her away? You didn't want us back then, and now you want to take her from me? That's too unreasonable!"

Alexander sneered, "Reason with me? Did you get stupid after getting pregnant? Since Alice is my daughter, a Windsor family descendant, do you think you can take her back? Not only will you not get her back, but I'll also make sure you never see Alice again in your life!"

"No," Elizabeth said in despair.

"Then freshen up and come with me to register our marriage!" Alexander suddenly let go of Elizabeth, ordering.

Elizabeth was silent.

Marriage registration.

After six years, she was remarrying Alexander?

God sure knows how to play jokes on her.

She obediently went back to her bedroom, changing out of her pajamas, and going to the bathroom to freshen up. When she came out with her hair done, Alice was already up.

Alice asked, "Mom, are you and Dad taking me to kindergarten today?" The maid had dressed Alice in a red princess dress, with a red hair clip, making her look like a princess from a fairy tale.

Elizabeth smiled at Alice, "Yes, today we're taking you to kindergarten together. Alice, tell me, are you happy now?"

Alice nodded, replying, "Yes, happy!"

She was genuinely, truly happy.

Even when Alexander and Elizabeth, all dressed up, took Alice downstairs to the car and saw Gavin waiting respectfully, Alice was still excited, saying to Gavin, "Gavin, today my prarents are taking me to kindergarten together."

"Are you happy?" Gavin asked.

"Of course, I'm happy," Alice answered happily.

"Then if you find out what your parents are going to do later, won't you be even happier?" Gavin asked.

Alice didn't understand what Gavin meant and teased him, "Gavin, I already told you, they are taking me to kindergarten together. How can you not remember?"

Gavin immediately self-reflected, "Oh, I'm too stupid."

Saying that, Gavin opened the car door for them. After they got in, he drove them to the kindergarten first, then headed to City Hall.

On the way, Gavin couldn't help but ask, "Mrs. Windsor, can I ask for a gift today? After all, today is your and Mr. Windsor's remarriage day, and I want to share some of the good luck."

Elizabeth didn't even have a hundred dollars to her name.

What could she give Gavin as a gift?

"Sure, when I have money in the future, I'll make it up to you," Elizabeth said lightly.

With the atmosphere suddenly becoming tense, Gavin was immediately scared into silence, cursing himself internally for bringing up such a topic.

Elizabeth didn't mind.

She was remarrying Alexander, but were they truly husband and wife?

After all, they had been intimate.

But she knew Alexander wouldn't see her as his wife, and that the entire Windsor family probably wouldn't acknowledge her either.

Elizabeth suddenly realized that her fate was eerily similar to the late Esme's.

The only difference was that she had a marriage certificate with Alexander, and that they had once held a tiny wedding.

Should Elizabeth feel lucky?

In a daze, they arrived at City Hall.

After six years, she was back at the same place.

An hour later, Elizabeth had a marriage certificate in her hand.

She was once again Mrs. Windsor.
