Chapter 183 Teaching Harper a Lesson

Elizabeth glanced up at the woman screaming at her.

The woman was dressed in expensive fashion, wearing very high heels, with flashy, exaggerated earrings swinging from her ears. Her wavy long hair made her look seductive and charming. She looked at Elizabeth with disdain and provocation, asking again, "I asked you, what are you doing here!"

Julia, sitting opposite Elizabeth, shrank back in fear. She kicked Elizabeth's foot under the table. Although Julia said nothing, Elizabeth understood her meaning: this was a woman not to be messed with.

Elizabeth looked at the woman again, not recognizing her.

For a moment, Elizabeth wondered if she was born to be annoying.

How did strange women know her?

However, Elizabeth could understand.

Six years ago, she was notorious in Sunwillow City, so many people should know her.

It seemed she was a kind of internet celebrity.

A well-known internet celebrity hated by everyone.

With an extremely calm expression, Elizabeth said, "Sorry! I don't know you!"

Today was her first day at work. It was not easy to find this job, so she didn't want to cause trouble on her first day.

As long as this strange woman didn't accuse her of anything, she could ignore it.

Elizabeth's indifferent attitude towards the arrogant woman left Julia stunned.

A second later, Julia leaned in, whispering to Elizabeth, "Elizabeth, you don't know her?"

Elizabeth took a bite of her food, replying, "I only know our department director, my manager Linda, and you."

Julia glanced cautiously at the arrogant woman, then nervously said to Elizabeth, "She is Miss Williams, a relative of one of our company's major shareholders."

Falling silent, Elizabeth didn't understand.

"Julia! Just tell her who I am!" The arrogant woman was almost driven mad by Elizabeth's behavior, ordering Julia!

If it weren't a public place, she would have grabbed Elizabeth's hair, pinning her to the ground!

Julia obediently said, "Elizabeth, Miss Williams is the sister of Mr. Jones's cousin Elodie."

Simon?

Isn't Simon's cousin Elodie?

Elizabeth stared blankly at Julia.

Julia continued, "Elodie grew up in The Jones Mansion, and Declan treated her like his own granddaughter. Later, Elodie returned to The Williams Mansion to live with her uncle and aunt, who also have a daughter named Harper Williams."

Elizabeth looked up at Harper, coldly asking, "Are you Elodie's sister?"

What a small world!

Julia kindly reminded Elizabeth, "Elizabeth, Miss Williams is an heir to our company, so be nice to her."

Julia had no choice; she was entrusted by Gavin.

The Brown family was just an ordinary working-class family in Sunwillow City, but Gavin's status was different. He often helped Julia's family, even buying her clothes when she was in college.

The bond between Gavin and Julia was strong.

So, Julia had to risk informing Elizabeth about some key figures in the company. Despite its small size, this company had its share of troubles.

A company was a microcosm of society.

However, Elizabeth didn't even look at Harper, calmly saying to Julia, "It's okay."

She had already been captured by Alexander, not knowing how long she would live.

Knowing she was doomed, what was there to fear?

She didn't care.

Julia was silent.

Harper roared, "You! Stand up!"

Her sharp, loud voice was heard by everyone around Elizabeth. Some were eating, some were ordering, but at that moment, all eyes were on Elizabeth.

Among them was Linda, who had been assigned by the director to mentor Elizabeth for a week.

"She's really a troublemaker. It's only her first day at work, and she's already causing trouble with a shareholder's relative. I thought Elizabeth was capable. It is really unlucky for me to mentor such a useless person with impeccable timing." Linda sneered at her colleague.

"Is she your new colleague?" the colleague asked.

Linda sneered, "I'm really worried. Look at her outfit, old-fashioned and conservative, clearly from a remote town. I don't know if the director and HR are blind, hiring someone with no sense of fashion into the design department. Even if I mentor her for ten years, I won't be able to teach her anything. It's a waste of time. But maybe it's for the best. With Miss Williams causing a scene, I bet she'll quit today."

As soon as Linda finished speaking, Harper's voice grew even louder, "You shameless mistress! Did you hear me? Stand up!"

Elizabeth continued eating calmly.

Julia was silent. If Harper weren't here, Julia would have called Gavin immediately.

Harper, even more furious, shouted, "Are you deaf, you bitch!"

Elizabeth finally put down her utensils and looked at Harper, asking slowly, "Do I know you? Did I steal your husband? You call me a mistress and a bitch. If you call me a mistress again, I'll sue you for defamation! Stay away from me, you disgust me!"

Harper was so angry she almost lost control. Remembering it was a public place, she suppressed her anger, asking, "Did my sister's husband introduce you here?"

"Do I know who he is?" Elizabeth replied.

"You should know Owen!" Harper asked viciously.

"Then tell Owen to stop trying to please me. Even if he confesses his love a thousand times, I won't be interested!" Elizabeth said disdainfully.

Harper was too furious to speak, "You..."

A surge of anger overwhelmed Harper, she couldn't hold back anymore, wanting to tear Elizabeth's hair out!

"What's going on here?" A clear voice came.

With the hand stopping mid-air, Harper turned and saw a figure.

A man in a suit was walking towards them with a tray. He was over 6 feet tall, with a tall and slender build. His eyes had a playful look, giving the impression he was a playboy who had seen all the women in the world.

"Mr. Lavien, what a pleasant surprise to see you dining in the company cafeteria today!" Harper changed her tone, smiling seductively at Robert Lavien.

Robert ignored Harper, walking up to Elizabeth and smiling, "Hello, Elizabeth."
