Chapter 240 Taking the Initiative to His Bedroom

At this moment, Alexander's expression was beyond unpleasant. Even though Elizabeth was some distance away, she could feel the cold aura emanating from Alexander, like a sword's chilling gleam that could kill people.

Elizabeth bit her lip in fear, looking worriedly at Alice.

Alice was still holding Alexander's hand. It was strange that Alice couldn't feel Alexander's coldness or his murderous intent.

Elizabeth felt nervous for her.

However, Alice looked up at Alexander with an innocent face and said, "Daddy, let's have dinner with the man who is chasing after Mommy. That way, he will know that my daddy is more handsome than him."

After saying this, Alice proudly hummed.

Elizabeth wanted to rush over and cover Alice's mouth, to stop her from continuing this topic.

However, she saw that Alexander's expression had improved instantly. He tightened his grip on Alice's hand and said gently, "Let's go have dinner with Daddy."

"Okay," Alice replied, skipping along with Alexander to the dining room.

Elizabeth remained silent.

Sweat had broken out on her back, soaking her clothes.

To avoid receiving similar calls, Elizabeth simply turned off her phone. After all, not many people contacted her. Hardly anyone in Sunwillow City knew her, and she had no friends. Her only family, Alice, was with her, so it didn't matter if her phone was off.

After turning off her phone, Elizabeth sat across from Alice and Alexander, pushing a plate of spaghetti towards Alexander and saying calmly, "I'm not very good at cooking. Last time, the food I made was too salty to eat, but this time the spaghetti is different. I'm good at making it. Have a try."

After speaking, Elizabeth no longer looked at Alexander, afraid that Alexander might throw the plate of spaghetti.

She still didn't know if Alexander was angry or not. She could never figure him out. He always kept his emotions hidden, with a deep and inscrutable mind. His thoughts and feelings were beyond her guessing.

So, she didn't guess.

When she looked up again, Alexander had already started eating.

"Daddy, wait for me. You're eating too fast. My mommy's spaghetti is delicious. You can't take mine after you finish yours," Alice said with a smile, watching Alexander.

Alice's favorite food was Elizabeth's spaghetti. Since coming to Sunwillow City with her parents, this was the first time Alice had eaten Elizabeth's spaghetti.

Alice found it delicious, and so did Alexander.

However, Alexander wouldn't show his liking as obviously as Alice, just eating in big bites. Seeing him eat quickly, Alice also ate quickly. They finished their plates of spaghetti at the same time.

After eating, Alexander took Alice's hand and started to leave.

"What are you doing?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yeah, what are we doing?" Alice asked curiously.

"Alice's words reminded me. After dinner, I should take her for a run around the neighborhood to build up her strength," Alexander said calmly.

Elizabeth could tell that the anger in his voice had dissipated, feeling a bit relieved.

"Mommy, come down with us," Alice called out.

Elizabeth nodded.

So, the three of them went downstairs hand in hand. As for her turned-off phone, Elizabeth ignored it. Downstairs, she sat on a bench, watching Alexander and Alice walk briskly together.

Alexander was tall with long legs. He took one step, and Alice had to take three to keep up. Under the bright moonlight, Elizabeth watched their tall and short figures move, with her heart becoming very calm.

Just like this, spending a lifetime with Alexander and Alice, she would have no regrets.

As she was thinking this, she heard Alexander drawling slowly to Alice, "Under the bright moonlight, two figures walk."

Alice repeated, "Under the bright moonlight, two figures walk."

"One adult, one child."

"One adult, one child."

"One tall, one short."

"One tall, one short."

"One good, one bad."

Alice glared at Alexander.

Alexander changed, "One handsome, one ugly."

Alice was too angry to speak.

Alexander smiled, "Alice, why are you stopping? Keep going."

Alice pouted to say, "Who's good and who's bad? Who's handsome and who's ugly?"

Alexander shrugged. "In order, it should be you bad, you ugly."

Alice fell silent.

Sitting on the nearby bench, Elizabeth burst into laughter.

"Bad Daddy, how can you say that? You're bullying me! You're bullying me because I'm a child. You should say you're ugly and bad. No, bad Daddy, say it again." Alice shouted.

"Okay, Daddy promises you." Then he slowly said, "Under the bright moonlight, two figures walk..."

The same words as before.

Alice fell silent.

Elizabeth had never laughed so happily. At this moment, she forgot her past with Alexander, her hatred with the Guise family, and the missing Samuel.

She forgot everything around her, focusing only on Alexander and Alice.

"Mommy, you're still laughing. Look at Daddy, an adult bullying a child! I don't want to play with him anymore," Alice said, running to Elizabeth and throwing herself into her arms.

Actually, Alice was happy.

She had never been this happy. Having a daddy felt really good.

Elizabeth whispered in Alice's ear, "When you grow up, he'll be old. Then you can bully him either, okay?"

Alice laughed immediately, "Okay. Mommy, let's go upstairs."

She pulled Elizabeth, then going to Alexander and pulling him too. The three of them went upstairs together.

Upstairs, Alice was tired. Elizabeth took her to the children's room to put her to sleep. After Alice fell asleep, Elizabeth quietly left and went to her own room, choosing a skimpy camisole nightgown and taking a shower.

After changing into the nightgown, she didn't return to her bedroom but went directly to Alexander's room. The door opened with a push. Coincidentally, Alexander had just finished his shower, water droplets still clinging to his cold skin. He stood there, looking at her without any clothes on.

She blushed slightly but didn't avoid him. Instead, she walked up to him and hugged him.
