Chapter 167 The Windsor Family's Child

Elizabeth looked at Alexander in confusion, asking, "Why? Are you taking me to get the Windsor family's approval?"

After asking, she smiled calmly. "I don't think such an honor would fall on me. If I go, I'll just embarrass myself. It's better not to go."

Her words were neither humble nor arrogant, leaving Alexander speechless.

His grip on her hand loosened for a moment, she took the opportunity to escape back to her room.

Elizabeth had been the Windsor Manor twice. The first time was right after she got out of prison when Alexander took her there. The second time was the night before she fled from Sunwillow City, when Marcus called her over. That time, she was thoroughly humiliated.

So, Elizabeth never wanted to set foot there again.

Now, she just wanted to find a job in peace.

Closing the door, she once again looked at the resumes Alexander had prepared for her. To be honest, she was quite grateful for what Alexander had done. She planned to post these resumes online first thing in the morning.

The next morning, Elizabeth got up very early.

She first went to Alice's nursery, woke her up, and arranged things for her, saying, "Alice, listen to me. Your dad is taking you to your grandpa's for a meal today. You have to be good, don't cause any trouble, and be a well-behaved little girl. Understand?"

Alice asked Elizabeth innocently, "Mom, aren't you coming?"

Elizabeth shook her head, saying, "You know, ever since I came here, I haven't found a job. Today, I have an interview. You want me to be independent and capable, right?"

Alice nodded, answering, "Yes, Mom."

"So, I can't go with you. You go with your dad and make sure to listen to him." After repeatedly instructing Alice, Elizabeth left the house with her documents.

There was a computer at home, but it was Alexander's. Elizabeth wasn't sure if he would let her use it, deciding it was best to go to a cyber café to post her resume.

When Alexander got up, he saw Alice standing at the door, looking up at him and asking, "Bad Dad, did you not let Mom come with us? That's why she left so early!"

Alexander was silent, feeling more wronged than anyone.

He said coldly, "Your mom's last name isn't Windsor, so she doesn't need to go to the Windsor Manor."

Alice was even more confused, asking, "My last name isn't Windsor either!"

"But you're my child! The people living in the Windsor Manor are my family, and they're your family too." Alexander looked at Alice very seriously, replying.

Alice couldn't find a way to argue back.

She just pouted, looking at Alexander with a defiant expression.

Alice and Alexander sat at the dining table, eating the same eggs, drinking the same milk, and eating the same sandwiches.

As Elizabeth wasn't there, they were like strangers, with no interaction between them.

The only thing they had in common was the way of having breakfast.

Seeing Alexander drink a whole glass of milk in one go, Alice quickly finished her glass of milk too.

Watching Alexander wipe his mouth with a napkin, Alice immediately did the same.

Then they left the house together.

Until they reached Gavin's car, neither Alice nor Alexander spoke to each other.

Gavin looked at Alice and Alexander in surprise, then stammered, "Where's Mrs. Windsor? Why hasn't she come down? Isn't she going with you?"

Elizabeth and Alexander were already married. Shouldn't they go to the Windsor Manor to announce it?

Weren't they supposed to discuss when to hold the wedding?

Could it be that the little argument between Elizabeth and Alexander when they picked up Alice last night still hadn't been resolved?

That couldn't be right! Wasn't it said that couples shouldn't go to bed angry?

Even Gavin, who wasn't married, knew this.

Unless Elizabeth didn't let Alexander get close to her last night?

While Gavin was wildly guessing, Alice stared at him with wide eyes, asking, "Gavin, who's Mrs. Windsor?"

Gavin replied, "That's your mom!"

Then he looked at Alexander, asking, "Mr. Windsor, is Mrs. Windsor still upstairs getting ready?"

As soon as Gavin finished speaking, he heard Alexander and Alice speak in unison.

"She has no desire to go to the Windsor Manor!"

"My bad dad won't let my mom come with us!"

Gavin was stunned and wisely kept his mouth shut. He opened the car door for Alexander and Alice, letting them get in.

The ride was silent.

The car didn't go directly to the Windsor Manor but instead went to the dress shop Alexander had visited a few days ago. The dresses were something Alexander had ordered when he received the call from Marcus asking him to bring Alice back.

The store manager told Alexander that they had a beautiful red mother-daughter set.

However, it was no longer needed.

When Alexander saw five-year-old Alice in a red little dress, his eyes lit up.

Alice was indeed his daughter. She looked noble, cool, and slightly mischievous. She was no less impressive than her mother, Elizabeth, perhaps even more so.

After changing into the dress, Alexander also picked up many casual clothes for Alice, fearing she might feel restricted by the dress at the family gathering, buying all kinds of clothes for her.

Alexander and Alice got back in the car, heading straight for the Windsor Manor.

When they arrived at the gate, they found over thirty cars already parked outside.

Alexander frowned. What were they up to? Had they invited all the elites of Sunwillow City to see the Windsor family's newly found child, Alice?

Alexander's guess was spot on.

Marcus, Felix, and Sierra had exactly that in mind. Not only that, but they also wanted to clarify something in front of everyone.

However, Alexander was unaware of their plans at this moment.

Holding Alice's hand, he walked step by step into the old house, hearing the lively chatter in the grand hall.

"You don't know that little girl is so clever. She looks just like Alexander did when he was young. She even made me laugh. She'll be here soon, and you'll all see her. I'll call Alexander right now." It was Marcus speaking, sitting in the main seat, introducing Alice to the guests who exchanged puzzled glances.

At that moment, Alexander walked into the living room, holding Alice's hand.
