Chapter 374 She Was Once Imprisoned by Oliver
Bodhi looked at Elizabeth in astonishment. "Have you thought Quiana was dead and buried here since this morning?"
Elizabeth nodded. "Six years ago, Oliver told me she was buried here."
Bodhi asked, "Is Oliver the one who came here when Quiana first married your dad?"
Elizabeth replied, "Yes."
"He's a scumbag!" Bodhi cursed angrily. Then he continued, "He said he was Quiana's cousin. After she came here, he didn't care about her at all. Later, when your dad died, he didn't even come to see him. Quiana worked to support your college education. Back then, she earned only six hundred dollars a month, kept just a hundred for herself, and gave the rest to Oliver, who claimed it was for your living expenses! Quiana suffered greatly while Oliver, a man of status, did nothing to help. Over six years, he visited four times, accusing you and Quiana of being fugitives and demanding we report any news of her. Remy was colluding with Oliver's family."
Seeing Elizabeth taken away by Remy, Bodhi and some kind-hearted villagers were very worried about her.
But now that they saw her had returned, it meant Remy couldn't do anything to her!
Moreover, Bodhi saw a well-dressed man with Elizabeth, along with a car and some bodyguards. Bodhi guessed that Elizabeth must have made it big this time. She shouldn't be afraid of anyone anymore. Only then did Bodhi dare to tell Elizabeth some hard truths.
"Are you really not with Quiana? Where has she been all these years? When she married Nico, he was in poor health and couldn't do physical labor. She did all the heavy work at home and suffered a lot. The villagers all thought she was with you." Bodhi asked worriedly.
Elizabeth was silent. The more Elizabeth thought about it, the more terrified she became. Perhaps Quiana was already dead, but the Guise Family had disposed of her body, so it couldn't be found? At this thought, Elizabeth felt an overwhelming hatred!
"Elizabeth?" Seeing Elizabeth crying non-stop, Bodhi called her again.
Elizabeth forced a smile. "Grandpa Evans, my mom and I have been separated for eight years. I don't know where she went. I thought she was buried here. I..."
Seeing Elizabeth cry like this, Bodhi felt extremely sad. She was so pitiful! She was discriminated against by the villagers since she was a child, called an illegitimate child. After finally going to school, she was separated from Quiana for eight years, not even knowing if she was alive.
Elizabeth cried helplessly. She hadn't seen Quiana one last time when she was alive, and now she wasn't even buried here.
"It's all my fault, Mom! I was in prison and couldn't come out to take care of you. Later, I was on the run for six years and never had a chance to come back and see you. Mom, where are you?" Saying this, Elizabeth, in despair, ran towards the abandoned wall of her house.
Alexander quickly grabbed Elizabeth. "Elizabeth! Calm down!"
Elizabeth's voice was hoarse. "I can't calm down, Alexander! I went to prison for Clara and haven't seen my mom since. When I got out two years later, Oliver told me she had died and he buried her ashes in our hometown. I've wanted to visit her, but I never had the money. Then I got pregnant, and for my unborn child, I had to give up the trip. It's all my fault! My mom is gone without a trace. What's the point of living?"
Alexander said firmly, "You still have Alice!"
Elizabeth was silent.
"If your mother is really gone without a trace, you have to avenge her!" Alexander added calmly.
At this moment, Alexander's hatred for Oliver surpassed even Elizabeth's. If Oliver hadn't used Clara to impersonate Elizabeth six years ago, she wouldn't have been so desperate. Worse, Oliver lied about burying Quiana's ashes in their hometown. That despicable man!
Elizabeth cried in Alexander's arms. "Why did you make me suffer for six more years? I was on edge every day, worried you would kill Alice. Because of this, I couldn't even come back to see my mom. I failed my mom! Alexander, I hate you!"
Elizabeth pounded Alexander's chest. At this moment, Alexander felt immense heartache.
The people around them couldn't help but cry at this scene. No one dared to say anything. Even the excavators working nearby didn't dare to make a sound.
Just then, Gavin approached Alexander and Elizabeth. He reminded , "Mr. Windsor, I know the information we've gathered so far is incomplete, but I think you should tell Mrs. Windsor."
Alexander had always been a very steady person who wouldn't tell Elizabeth anything until he had all the facts. In fact, for the past few months, Alexander had been investigating Oliver's past and Elizabeth's parents' past. However, since so much time had passed, the investigation was difficult and progress was slow.
Moreover, Alexander didn't want to tell Elizabeth the final result.
He feared it would be bad news and disappoint Elizabeth, so he kept it from her.
At this moment, prompted by Gavin, Alexander cupped Elizabeth's face and said, " There's something I haven't told you. During the years you were on the run in Collinsport, Quiana was imprisoned by Oliver's family for a while."
"What?!" Elizabeth was stunned.
