Chapter 116 It Is Human Nature to Have Desires

Josephine, Claudia, and Laura stepped out of the bedroom and headed to the terrace.

Laura knew how to live it up. Her room was cozy, and the terrace had a wicker swing with a snow-white carpet on it.

They chatted for a bit until the doorbell rang.

"Is that the food delivery?" Claudia asked.

With food for five, Liam couldn't cook everything, so Laura had ordered some dishes from a restaurant.

"Maybe," Laura said, "I'll check."

They all walked to the living room, and Laura opened the door. A tall, handsome guy stood outside.

Josephine and Claudia peeked out just as Laura slammed the door shut.

They only caught a glimpse of a tall figure before the door closed.

"What happened?" Josephine asked, "Wasn't it the restaurant?"

"Wrong address." Laura laughed. "Don't worry about it."

Claudia was puzzled. "He didn't say a word. How do you know it was the wrong address?"

Laura pinched her cheek. "Claudia, didn't your parents teach you not to open the door to strangers? As soon as I saw I didn't recognize him, I shut the door!"

Claudia nodded, still confused. "Alright."

But Josephine felt something was off.

Even if it was the wrong address, shouldn't he have said something?

And judging by Laura's expression, the guy didn't seem like a stranger.

But since Laura didn't want to talk about it, she let it go.

Claudia looked around and exclaimed, "Where's Stuart?"

Only then did they realize Stuart was missing.

Laura said, "Did he leave? So considerate?"

Just then, Liam came out of the kitchen and placed some dishes on the dining table.

He said, "Josephine, you might want to check on Stuart. I'm afraid he'll burn down the kitchen."

"He's in the kitchen?" Josephine was surprised. "What's he doing?"

"He said he wanted to cook," Liam said, "But it looks like he might blow up the kitchen."

They all rushed to the kitchen.

Stuart, tall and imposing, made the kitchen feel cramped.

He wore a well-tailored shirt with the sleeves rolled up, showing off his well-defined muscles.

He looked dashing, like a model in a high-end advertisement, exuding a unique elegance and composure.

The oil in the pan was crackling, and the next second, Stuart dumped chicken legs into the pan.

With a loud bang, flames shot up half a meter high.

Claudia screamed and backed away.

Stuart turned and saw the group standing at the kitchen door.

Seeing the surprise in Josephine's eyes, he felt inexplicably pleased.

He held the pan and performed a neat trick.

Claudia blinked. "Can he cook?"

Laura said, "Whether he can cook is secondary. Why do I feel like he's showing off?"

Josephine hadn't thought of it that way, but after Laura said it, it made sense.

After a while, the restaurant delivered the food.

Liam and Stuart's dishes were also ready.

At the dining table, Stuart served Josephine some of his food. "Try it."

Josephine took a bite and noticed Stuart staring at her.

She was puzzled. "What's wrong?"

Stuart looked a bit dissatisfied. "Aren't you going to say something?"

She had just praised Liam's cooking.

Josephine thought for a moment and said, "It's okay."

'Okay? Liam's is delicious, but my is just okay?' Stuart snorted in frustration.

"As long as it's edible, that's fine. No need to be a gourmet!" he muttered.

But everyone at the table wasn't stupid.

At first, they were curious about Stuart's cooking; but after one taste, they didn't want a second.

In the end, most of the other dishes were eaten, but Stuart's dish was mostly left untouched.

Most of what was eaten was by Stuart himself.

The most annoying part was that Liam had also fried some chicken wings. Not only did they finish a whole plate, but he also packed a small bag for Josephine to take home.

On the way back, Stuart's lips were pressed into a thin line, clearly unhappy.

Josephine didn't want to provoke him, so she said nothing.

When they got home, Andrew was still up. Seeing them come back together, he was overjoyed.

After chatting with Andrew for a while, Josephine went upstairs.

Stuart went to the study; he still had some work to handle.

After taking a shower, Josephine leaned against the headboard to read.

Stuart came back and went straight to the bathroom without looking at her.

When he came out, he got into bed and sat next to Josephine.

As Josephine got up to leave the bed, he grabbed her. "Where are you going?"

Josephine said, "I want to read. I'm afraid I'll disturb your sleep. I'll go somewhere else to read."

"Read what?" Stuart took the book from her hands. "It's late. Go to sleep."

Josephine said, "I'm not sleepy."

"Really?" Stuart pressed her down. "Perfect. Let's do something else."

Josephine pushed him. "I don't want to!"

Stuart asked, "Do you know what I want to do?"

"What else could you want?" Josephine said angrily, "All you think about is sex!"

"Having desires is human nature," Stuart said, "It's normal. Why, can't a married couple have sex?"

Josephine retorted, "Nobody said anything about doing it every day!"

Stuart said, "Fine, we won't have sex today."

Josephine was surprised. "Really?"

"Yeah," Stuart said, "I'll ask you a few questions. If you answer correctly, we won't have sex tonight."

Josephine asked, "What questions?"

"How was my cooking?" Stuart asked, "Better than Liam's, right?"

Josephine let go and slumped onto the bed. "Let's just have sex."

Stuart was immediately angry. "What do you mean?"

Josephine said, "Don't you get it? Liam's a five-star chef, and your cooking is barely edible. How can you compare?"

"He's a five-star chef?" Stuart sneered. "Have you ever eaten food made by a five-star hotel chef?"

Josephine said, "I'm not arguing with you about this. It's pointless."

Stuart shouted, "Josephine, I'm your husband; Liam's just an outsider. You should know who you're closer to!"

Josephine didn't understand why Stuart was so hung up on this. She thought this topic was quite pointless.

"Are you thinking that once we divorce, it won't matter anymore?" Stuart asked through gritted teeth.

Josephine was puzzled. "Of course."

"Of course not!" Stuart said, "Unless, before the divorce, the Kalmien family returns all the benefits they've received. Otherwise, even if we divorce, you'll always owe me!"

Josephine was incredulous. "You!"

"It's fine if you don't want to owe me," Stuart said, tracing her facial features with his finger, "It depends on how you please me. Maybe if I'm happy, I'll write it all off."
