Chapter 243 Jeffery Is Back!

Roy, who was overseas, found out he could take Jeffery to find Josephine and got so excited he practically danced around.

Jeffery gave him a cold look and said, "You're so childish. My mom won't like you."

"What do you know?" Roy wanted to pinch Jeffery's serious little face. "This is youthful energy. Lots of girls dig my vibe."

Jeffery shot back, "I think my mom prefers guys who are steady and mature."

"Don't rain on my parade!" Roy huffed, hands on his hips. "Anyway, I'm your mom's boyfriend now! Jeffery, you might have to call me Dad soon!"

Jeffery rolled his eyes dramatically.

"Are you looking down on me?" Roy snorted. "Just you wait!"

Jeffery went back to his book.

Two days later, they boarded a plane.

Roy had wanted to take a private jet, but the flight plan wouldn't be approved for three days, and he couldn't wait. So, they took a regular flight.

They sat in first class.

As soon as Jeffery got on the plane, he got special attention from all the flight attendants.

He was just so good-looking; who could resist such a beautiful kid?

But Jeffery, with his perfect, sweet features, was cold as ice. His big, beautiful eyes had no warmth.

It was like he could be an air conditioner in the summer!

But this contrast made the flight attendants like him even more.

Throughout the flight, people kept checking on him, asking if he was cold, if he wanted something to drink, or if he needed to use the restroom.

Jeffery kept his handsome little face stern. Even though he exuded coldness, it didn't stop people from approaching him.

Roy laughed gleefully on the side.

After a long flight of over ten hours, Jeffery's cute little face looked even more endearing.

When the plane finally landed, Roy ignored Jeffery's resistance and carried him off the plane.

As they came out of the VIP passage, Jeffery immediately saw Josephine.

In the crowd, Josephine was the most eye-catching!

"Mommy!" Jeffery, who had been keeping a stern face, finally broke into a smile.

People around who saw this scene felt their hearts melt.

Laura saw Jeffery from a distance and rubbed her eyes in disbelief.

Laura thought, 'Can someone tell me why Jeffery's eyes have turned blue?

Although they were still very beautiful.

But!

Weren't they brown?'

Josephine waved at him and then quickly stepped forward, taking Jeffery from Roy's arms and hugging him tightly.

"Jeffery!" Laura and Claudia also gathered around.

Laura didn't forget to greet Roy, "Hi, nice to see you again."

Roy blinked his blue eyes, identical to Jeffery's, and smiled. "Hello."

Laura was also stunned. She happened to make eye contact with Jeffery, who was tilting his head and hugging Josephine's neck.

At such a close distance, Jeffery's eyes looked even bluer, like the most beautiful ocean.

Claudia couldn't help but say, "Jeffery, you're so beautiful!"

Jeffery pouted and said pitifully, "Claudia, I'm a boy."

Laura laughed heartily on the side, and Josephine relaxed her grip and kissed his cheek. "Jeffery, Mommy missed you so much!"

"I missed you, too, Mommy!" Jeffery blinked, his thick eyelashes fluttering.

"Hurry, let me kiss him, too!" Laura, without waiting for a response, held Jeffery's head and gave him a kiss.

She was wearing lipstick, and after kissing him, a red lip print appeared on Jeffery's delicate cheek.

Claudia chimed in, "I want to kiss him, too!"

Seeing Jeffery's little face with two lipstick marks, Josephine couldn't stop laughing.

She held Jeffery tightly, and even though Jeffery felt like he was too old to be held at over four years old, he couldn't bear to leave her embrace.

'Just this once,' he thought, 'I'll let myself be a little spoiled.'

The group chatted and laughed as they walked out. Suddenly, Josephine, who was leading the way, stopped in her tracks.

The others were puzzled.

Laura asked curiously, "What's up? Why'd you stop?"

Before she could finish, she saw a man standing not far ahead.

It was Stuart.

He was staring intently at Jeffery in Josephine's arms.

Now Laura understood why Josephine was so sure Stuart would never suspect Jeffery's parentage.

Seeing Jeffery's blue eyes, identical to Roy's, how could Stuart ever think this was his kid?

Laura thought, 'This plan is genius.'

She looked at Stuart with a smirk.

Jeffery, hugging Josephine's neck, turned to look at Stuart.

After just one glance, he looked away and stayed obediently in Josephine's arms.

Stuart knew why he had come.

In the end, he couldn't let go, even though he had seen Jeffery's photo on Josephine's phone.

When he saw Jeffery's blue eyes, it felt like a knife had stabbed his heart.

But even so, he still held onto a sliver of hope.

Without seeing it with his own eyes, he couldn't believe it.

So, he came.

And then, he saw with his own eyes that Jeffery in Josephine's arms really had blue eyes!

At that moment, Stuart felt like he heard the sound of his heart breaking.

Jeffery wasn't his child.

Back then, after Josephine left, she quickly got together with another man, got pregnant, and had Jeffery.

So, everything she said was true.

Including her feelings for him.

She had really moved on.

But he was still stuck in the past, watching Josephine walk away.

In that moment of distraction, Josephine had already walked past him, holding Jeffery, getting further and further away.

Stuart turned around, watching their backs.

Josephine was getting further and further away from him.

But what could he do? He couldn't move on.

His heart seemed to be stuck in the world from five years ago.

Stubbornly staying there, refusing to leave.

But the person he wanted to protect was no longer waiting for him.

It was his negligence, his poor judgment, his blindness that caused him to lose his lover.

Who could tell him what to do?

How could he come out of the world from five years ago and truly recognize and accept the current Josephine?

The Josephine who now had a boyfriend and a child.

He felt like he couldn't breathe, like his heart had been dug out, the pain almost making him unable to stand.

But even so, he masochistically thought, 'Five years ago, did Josephine feel this pain too? Back then, when I was with Doris in front of Josephine, did Josephine's heart feel this bitter and painful?'

He deserved it.

All the pain he was enduring today was his own doing.

Everything he was going through, Josephine had once gone through.

He looked up, watching Josephine get further and further away, his gaze gradually becoming determined.

A few seconds later, he lifted his leg and walked in the direction Josephine had left.
