Chapter 421 Not Leaving Tonight
When it came to Angela, Josephine didn't tell Stuart. Such a troublesome matter was better left unsaid.
Stuart had been behaving much better recently, especially in his attitude towards Josephine, no longer as cautious as before. If he knew about Angela, he would definitely blame himself again.
In the afternoon, Josephine had an appointment with Kathy.
Laura and Claudia were both in Hustalia. Although Josephine had met many friends in Celestia Springs, none of them were particularly close.
However, every time she chatted with Kathy on the phone, they had a great time.
This time they met because Kathy's relatives from her hometown had brought her some things, and she had specially saved some for Josephine.
"Thank you!" Taking the bag Kathy handed over, Josephine smiled and thanked her.
Kathy said, "It's not worth much, but it's healthy, all from my hometown."
"My mom loves these things." Josephine said, "By the way, do you want to come over to my place sometime? I'll pick a weekend when Gerald is off, and you can come over."
"No way." Kathy was terrified, "I don't dare to go!"
"Why not?" Josephine was puzzled, "You're coming as my friend, not Gerald's girlfriend."
"Well," Kathy sighed, "I message Mr. Clarence every day, and he never replies."
"If Gerald hasn't deleted you, it means he doesn't dislike you. Keep it up, don't get discouraged!"
"I know, I'll keep trying!"
Josephine looked at her, "But you still call him Mr. Clarence?"
"What else?" Kathy said, "I can't just say, 'Good morning, Gerald!'"
"That's fine." Josephine said, "Everyone around Gerald is staff, they all call him that, so you can too. He'd have no feeling."
"But I'm too scared." Kathy said, "I just send him good morning and good night messages."
"You really are..." Josephine was speechless, "You're so good at studying, but not at pursuing someone."
Kathy asked her, "Are you good at pursuing someone?"
Josephine felt a bit guilty, "Not really."
"By the way, I still don't know what your boyfriend looks like."
Josephine took out her phone and showed her a picture of Stuart.
Kathy covered her mouth, "Wow! He's so handsome! Oh my God, you two are a perfect match!"
"Not bad." Josephine smiled, "Keep it up, if you get Gerald, you'll have a handsome boyfriend too."
"I feel like Gerald doesn't even read my messages." Kathy was listless, "I feel like I'm doing something pointless."
"Didn't you think it was impossible with him before? So, doing this doesn't cost you anything. At worst, you won't end up together, which was your initial state anyway."
"That's true, but having expectations and then being disappointed feels very different."
They talked for a long time, with Josephine constantly encouraging her.
Later, they went shopping, and around five o'clock, Stuart called to ask where she was and if he could pick her up.
Kathy finally saw Stuart. She found that Stuart looked even better in person than in the photos.
And she had seen pictures of Ulysses and Jeffery before. She thought that Josephine's family's looks were probably crafted by the creator, each one more exquisite than the last.
She couldn't help but be envious. Especially when Stuart stood next to Josephine, they were a perfect match, even better than the celebrity couples on TV.
Stuart drove her away and asked, "Has Laura been to Celestia Springs recently?"
"Why do you ask?"
"If she had, you wouldn't have had the chance to meet other girls, right?"
"That's true." Josephine laughed, "She would be jealous if she knew. But this girl is different."
Stuart was puzzled, "Why?"
"Because I want her to be Gerald's girlfriend."
"So, she's a match you set up for Gerald?"
"You could say that." Josephine said, "But Gerald doesn't seem very interested in her."
"I think Kathy is pretty good, her personality should be nice too. Gerald isn't interested?" Stuart said, "He has high standards."
"You dare to talk about your brother-in-law now?"
"What's wrong?" Stuart said, "Of course, it's because we're close. Wait, brother-in-law? Are you admitting you're my wife now?"
Josephine blushed, "I didn't admit that."
Stuart was overjoyed.
They went for dinner, and then Josephine suggested they go see the house he had prepared.
In a few days, when the weather warmed up, they would bring Andrew over. Then the whole family could be together.
In the past, Andrew would have stayed in Hustalia for his retirement. But now, with Jeffery here, Andrew couldn't wait to come.
As for Elbert and his wife, they couldn't leave for now, but they would come to Celestia Springs during the holidays.
Stuart had already hired a chef and a housekeeper, and there were professionals taking care of the greenery in the yard.
This time, Josephine found many changes since her last visit. The quilt in her room was soft and smelled of sunshine.
"The housekeeper just aired it today." Stuart looked at her expectantly, "Stay here tonight?"
Josephine nodded. "Sure."
Stuart was stunned. He had just said it casually, never expecting Josephine to agree.
He said, "I mean, you're not leaving tonight."
"I said, sure." Josephine said, "I'll call my mom in a bit."
"Really?" Stuart was pleasantly surprised, "You're really staying?"
"Yes." Josephine said, "After all, we can't waste the housekeeper's effort. Look how well the quilt is arranged."
"Okay, then I'll... I'll check the toiletries."
"Don't bother," Josephine pulled him back, "Didn't we check last time? Everything is there."
"What else do you need? I'm afraid you won't be comfortable."
"Stuart, let's try tonight."
Stuart was stunned again. He even doubted his ears, "Josephine, what did you say?"
"I said," Josephine hugged him, "Tonight, I want to sleep with you."
Stuart's Adam's apple bobbed hard. He hugged Josephine, feeling a surge of emotion, "Josephine."
"But it's a bit early now." Josephine smiled and pushed him away, "Isn't there a home theater? I want to watch a movie."
"Okay." Stuart held her hand, "Let's go watch."
The home theater had the best equipment, luxurious sofas that could be both sat on and laid on, providing the best viewing experience.
Stuart respected her choice and found an old movie. They sat side by side on the sofa, watching the big screen.
The movie started, and Stuart pulled her onto his lap, "I want to hold you."
Josephine found a comfortable position in his arms. She was watching the movie, but his mind was all on her.
Through the light from the movie screen, he could see Josephine's profile.
He didn't know how long it had been, but Stuart finally couldn't resist and kissed her.
